I toured The Village of Redford. It was a large senior living complex that also has cottages. It was really nice and clean. They have a concierge, and they have housekeeping. They serve meals, and they are very nice and professional. It was behind the Presbyterian Church. It's a large complex that was built in the last ten years. They have three floors for the big house and for the apartment. They have several cottages. They also have an extremely large recreation activity building. They have a swimming pool, great parking, and transportation for the tenants. They take trips to the market twice a week. The have laundry facilities on each of the three floors of the apartment. Many of the apartments have small balcony. It was for me, and they didn't have any cottages available at that time. The cottage house is self-sufficient. You have the washer and dryer there, and it's private entrance. On the weekends, though, there is no management available. I went back to visit somebody, and there's nobody to control the people and their relatives. You have children on the elevator. Children running down the hall and you have a lot of playfulness. By the time Sunday night comes, we go into Monday. It goes back to the way it's supposed to be. If you're a homebody and you're home on the weekend, you have to endure the traffic. Traffic can become quite consuming because of the number of children that are allowed in the building with their grandparents. I don't like young people playing on the elevator. You don't have anybody to report it to because you don't have management there to help you with that through the weekend. Now on through the week, somebody is wiping, marking down, and keeping it clean. That's why I said a four instead of a five because there is no one to take hold of maintenance on the weekend. I can say it is beautiful. The halls are nice, wide, and clean, and you can get to your apartment very easily. The laundry room is nice and clean. They have activities for seniors there and it was nice.

Presbyterian Village - The Village of Redford was very nice and bright, and the residents were cheery. I just had a few issues with the salesperson I dealt with. The one-bedroom apartment I saw was very nice and spacious, but there was only one closet.

My father is at Presbyterian Village - The Village of Redford. It's a senior facility that does not provide food or any help. Their staff members are wonderful. They've been helpful with doing things like installing handrails and a chair base for his recliner. They do a daily door knock for checking. He had a health incident there and he had the button to push to obtain emergency care. Had he still been 84 and where he was at, it would be a wonderful place for him. It's just he's in a different stage of life right now. They have no activities now due to the COVID lockdown, but he was doing sing alongs, and they were doing birthday parties. It's always been clean and they just did a lobby remodel, so it's quite pretty.

My son was there and the room was horrible. The place was so bad that i called the State of Michigan about the condition. He had numerous falls. The help was rude and uncaring. Appeared nice on the front, after getting inside some rooms are horrible. Those fall help to cause an early death. When he was sent to the hospital they called an ambulance service instead of EMS. I arrived at the hospital before the ambulance who took an hour getting him to the hospital. I let the ambulance company know the driver.

I am in a new building of Redford cottages in Presbyterian Village. It was very nice and beautiful, but I have a couple of complaints that have not been taken care of. It was not the building that I was shown, and I was just handed the key. These are condos with carports.

I toured the Green Houses at The Village and saw the rooms for assisted living. It was great the way they handle the residents. The residents can eat any time they want, rather than only eating at set times. Everybody goes to a large central area like a community living room with a kitchen inside where they can eat at the tables or the counter. The residents can have their own refrigerator. They can also order all sorts of things that they want to eat. The staff seemed to be very attentive. They talked to the residents really respectfully, like they were hotel guests. They made sure the residents were properly dressed before they ventured outside, especially if the person was in a wheelchair.

The Village of Redford looked nice enough. It was very clean. The staff seemed to be helpful. The room looked outdated, but it was clean. It was a private room, and it was quite spacious. The dining room was nice and clean. They had good people helping the residents there. However, it didn’t seem they have enough people to help everybody. In the dining room, it looked like the elderly people were kind of left alone, and there was nobody helping them.

I liked the care at Village of Redford. I also liked the activities and their access to the church on the inside. They could go to church every Sunday. She will be around God-fearing people. The doctors in the rehabilitation were fairly well. To me, it seemed it to help senior and the elderly to be able to accomplish some things in their lives that they might have thought that they might not be able to do again. I believed it was a place of life. I saw their food, and it was pretty good. The food was not bland. She enjoyed it and she was kind of particular with bland food. So, if she ate it, she liked it. They had range-of-motion classes. They also had different arts and crafts. They had someone come in and do activities with them. She made videos of them doing a dance special, celebration for their birthday. Sometimes they had barbecues, and they would go out. They re-enacted some of the things they used to do, and it brought some joy to them. I know my mother enjoys a lot of the activities that they do. There is always something to do from day to day. She was there before for over two years, then she came back home with me for a while. Now, she was going to be returning.

The Village of Redford is two blocks away from my home. I believe they’re going through new management and changing their name. I like it mainly because they have access to the church inside. They can go to church every Sunday and be around God-fearing people. To me, it helps the seniors and the elderly to be able to focus on something in their lives that they think they might not be able to do again. The seniors and the doctors and the rehabilitation are fairly good. It is a place of light. I tried their food once, which was pretty good and not bland. My mother has a low-sodium diet, so she can't have food with a lot salt in it. She enjoys the food there, and she’s kind of particular about eating bland food. If she eats it, she likes it. I like the care and also the activities availble. There’s always something to do from day to day. I noticed they have a range of classes with a young lady that comes in and does activities with them. She makes videos of them, too. They also have arts and crafts, special celebrations for their birthdays, and even go out and have barbecue during the summertime. They reenact some of the things they used to do when they were young. That brings some joy to them. I notice my mother enjoys a lot of the activities.

When he just started staying at Village of Redford, the care program was our main issue for my dad or the care he was getting like medicine, blood pressure and diabetes check. The food seems OK. He seems OK. I believe the service is pretty good.

I visited Village of Redford. It smelled. Also the facilities needed a little updating. It was a little outdated. They could clean it a little bit better. Food was alright though.

Village of Redford was very nice; they had a movie theater for the seniors, an exercise room, and transportation. You can get your meals there if you wanted.

The Presbyterian Village is very well organized and clean. The staff is very good, and the food is very good as well. They have activities like bingo and sing-alongs which my wife participates in.

The environment at Presbyterian Village seemed okay. I was there this afternoon and my great aunt was getting some personal care. She looks a lot cleaner and okay. I like how the staff works with her.

My mother-in-law entered Presbyterian Villages of Michigan when she was 78 years old until she passed away at 91 years old. She was in a unit with four apartments in each corner and there was a utility room in the middle for those apartments. We spent every Sunday evening with her and she loved every moment that she was there.

I think that Village of Redford is a good choice for placement for someone who is looking for placement for a friend or a family member. The Village of Redford has studio apartments for their residents and is considered to be a facility that offer their services to low and fixed income individuals that would like to live in a nice quiet suburban homey environment. The residents' rooms were nice and clean and the residents' rooms do not smell. The neighborhood is nice and beautiful and well landscaped, maintained and structured. While there, I noticed that the staff there treat their residents like family and the residents appear to be happy there as I watched them interact with one another. The food also looked very tasty and the residents seem to be enjoying the food without any complaints. I would have to rank this facility on a five stars rating for it skills.
