My parents moved into Oakmont Northville more than a month ago. The staff seems to be very friendly. There's no interaction with them unless you need them, but they're very helpful. The grounds are very nice, very clean, and very well maintained. The food is excellent. They have 2 nightly specials, and they get 3 meals a day. They play bingo and they go to happy hours. They had a Mother's Day lunch and that was nice. They do offer an activity bus every Friday, and they go to the grocery store, the Dollar Tree, and the pharmacy. They also have access to a chauffeur if they need to go to dental appointments or wherever they need to be. They also have a doctor that comes to the facility once a week. They have a beauty shop on the premises. They have a theater, an activity room, and a library. The other thing that Oakmont Northville offers is they have emergency call buttons in the apartment. They have four of them in the room, and each resident gets one, either a necklace or a wristband, that they wear. It's a great value for the price.

I toured Oakmont Northville at Seven Mile Road. It was nice, but I just didn't really feel that's where I wanted to be. There are some good points to it, like the fact that it's family-owned, but they didn't have the amenities that I would like. The grounds are OK, but not impressive. The person who did the tour was very nice and helpful. They only had two meals a day, which isn't a difficult thing, except none of their apartments have accommodations for cooking.

Oakmont is beautiful facility and nice size apartments. We moved my mom in based on the care company that is housed in Oakmont (3rd party) 24hours. Sadly, this changed 6 months after we moved my mom in. Ace is now there, which is a horrible care company. So, if your loved one needs additional care to live at Oakmont, you will want to re-consider. As this is NOT an age in place facility. I also did not like how they would host activities that would require RSVP's. Meaning they would turn your loved one away for a hot dog in the dining room if they did not turn in their rsvp. I found this very sad to NOT include everyone. Also, if your loved one needs assistance getting on the bus, they also will not be able to attend. Unlike assisted living where they assist everyone. They have had trouble keeping an activities director until recent. I do like the common areas, very welcoming, the dining area is spacious. I would have liked to see Oakmont use the beautiful back patio that they sold us on more during the summer months. Instead, they made this space very difficult for the residents to use. Sadly due to the care company and lack of care, we had to move my mom.

Oakmont Northville seemed to be well educated and well knowledgeable about the information we needed and the questions that we had. They offer a large variety of activities and encourage social integration of their residents. It had a hair salon, a bar, a game room, a theater, and then activities that were scheduled around the week in those activity rooms.

We saw Oakmont Northville Senior Community. This was called independent living, but I disagreed with the director, that was not independent living because they do everything for the residents. If you need it, that's fine, but for someone who doesn't need that, my contention is that you need a purpose in life, and if you're able to do it, you should be able to do it and not have everything done for you. It's a beautiful facility. They do your laundry, they clean your room constantly, they take your trash out constantly. You have to eat your meals in the dining room, meals are included in the monthly cost, and there is no discount if you don't eat them. When we arrived, it was mealtime in the afternoon, but most of the residents were in the dining room, so there weren't any other activities going on at the time. We saw a room that had a small kitchen, but it did have all the appliances and a refrigerator, and a stove. The people seem to be very friendly. We did see the chapel. We passed some of the aides in the hall and kind of quickly met them. The facility is very nice, furnished very nicely, and clean.

My dad is at the independent living of Oakmont Northville. What I like is exactly that, that it's independent living but his meals are provided, they clean the room, and they do the laundry. It's very, very nice. It's a beautiful area and the building is beautiful. The people there are extremely nice and helpful. They have a barbershop there too but the meals are my dad's favorite thing. He does not complain about the food, at all, and he said the food is very good.

My mother moved into Oakmont Northville, and it was a short time where she had to go back out for her surgery. They were really helpful and went over the top. As far as getting her in and getting her one of the apartments that we wanted, they were just wonderful. The room was beautiful, like a five-star hotel there. She has a studio, and there's plenty of room. I saw the bigger rooms that have the one-bedroom; those were very nice spaces, and the bathrooms were big. The staff members were excellent. They go over the top to help you with whatever and answer your questions. All the staff that we met were just great. There was a huge calendar every day of all kinds of things, from cards to games, drumming, crafts, activities, going out of the facility, and shopping trips. There was just a lot going on every day.

Oakmont Northville Senior Community seemed like a wonderful and lovely place. The staff seems super friendly and engaged with the residents. They had absolutely perfect maintenance; everything was perfectly in condition. There wasn't even a moulding with a scuff on it. They told me that they took pride and spent money to take care of the place. The rooms were very spacious, extremely clean, and nicely laid out. They have daily maid service that's all free. They take care of all your laundry. They take care of all your housekeeping and provide all your meals. They've got a full service salon there for the ladies and also a movie theater. They were having a Father's Day party, and all of the gentlemen there were sitting in a group having laughs with residents, drinking beers, and having a good time.

Oakmont Northville was very nice and very clean. It had a lot of parking spaces. The people there were very happy. I didn’t see any shortcomings with the people and the appearance of the place. It was a very large place with a lot of residents, but my husband preferred a smaller place. Their activities were pretty good. They had a chapel and an exercise room.

Oakmont Northville is able to accommodate my brother's gluten-free dietary requirement, and he enjoys it there. They have people come in with their dogs to see the residents. They have entertainment; they play Wii games, Bridge, and Euchre. I like it a lot. My brother said the food is very good. I don't think their price is out of range. They have a building attached that takes care of Alzheimer's patients -- which is sort of a nice transition if needed.

Oakmont Northville was referred to me by my neighbor. This is more of a facility where you have to have a certain level of independence. I went to visit the facility and the staff are very good and caring. It's a very nice place and very well maintained. They've got lots of activities. I would compare their activities like if I was in a cruise ship. They have a list of things that they are going to do during the day. They have exercise class and electronic games. They also have a computer room, a workout facility, billiards table, a couple of large screen televisions and if you want to take your family and watch there you could. They have a nice activity room where the residents can do crafts. They also have local kids come in. They have a small bus that can take the residents to the casino or out to lunch. Everyone has their own little kitchenette in their own apartment space. They have free transportation to your doctor's appointment and you just have to schedule it with the transportation guy and they will take you to your appointment. The staff is there 24/7 and they have an RN on duty 16 hours a day. They are pretty prepared for things. They also have doctors and a podiatrist come in. You could do any physical therapy right here in the building. The place is pretty well organized and the price is quite reasonable.
