We are grateful for the overall care the staff provided, especially Nancy who was a huge help as we transitioned my mother-in-law to another Brookdale property that could provide the level of care she would need. During the time that she was there we knew she was getting the best care and that allowed us to rest and leave her knowing she was getting the care she needed at this stage of her journey.

I toured Brookdale Farmington Hills. The people were extremely friendly. I was able to talk with a couple of residents who were on the resident council. They were very forthcoming with how much they enjoyed living there. And if the residents had any problems, they could come to them and then they would relay that to the next level and try to resolve the issues. The staff who gave the tour is not the one that normally does the tour. She is the activities director. We had a meal with them. They had a special thing going where the chef was cooking meals, and the food was wonderful. It's an older building though.

I went to look at Brookdale Farmington Hills. I was impressed with the layout, and that each room has a little porch off the back that's screened-in. They gave me a copy of the menu, and the food looked excellent. It was just a nice place. The people that I talked to were very nice. The staff was outstanding. She knew the answer to every question. I just felt very comfortable with her. I didn't feel like I was dealing totally with a salesman. She was excellent.

I'll be moving my mom into Brookdale Farmington Hills. I liked the diversity. Without her even being in there, they've been concerned about how she's doing. They invited her to a couple of events, and they just made her feel warm. The staff was very caring and concerned. I took my mother there to kind of look around, and the staff was just attentive to my mother. We sat down and played bingo. They invited us to a Halloween outing where we went and played bingo. My mother sat down and ate the food, and she loved it. They had Thanksgiving dinner a couple of days ago and they brought her some food at the place where she's staying. I saw a rehab, a movie theater, and a chapel, and I know they had outings to different places.

I moved into Brookdale Farmington Hills. They're very friendly and accommodating. It's good food and nice people. The room is small, but it's well-designed, so the space is efficient. And so far, I've had an excellent experience. This is a studio. There's no kitchen or kitchenette. It's just a bedroom and a bathroom, but even though it's rather small, it's very nice. They have bingo, and crafts once a week, and they go on outings on occasion. Last week, they went to the Detroit Institute of Arts. Next week, they're going to seminary and then out to lunch. They have movie nights, and they have a library. The layout of the building is a challenge, but it's good exercise.

I went to Brookdale Farmington Hills. There was like a musty odor or mold odor in the air in that place. They're putting a new roof on, maybe that would cure it. There were stains in the carpeting in the hallway. The dining room looked nice. I like the fact that there's a screened-in patio, except there were two steps to get down it, and I couldn't do that. They need to clean the carpet and get rid of that smell.

Brookdale Farmington Hills was clean and spacious. They have rooms for people to read, or spend time with the visitors, and a spacious dining room, too. The apartments were spacious. The staff member told me about what amenities they have, and she gave me a sheet of the amenities that they have, and the entertainments and all that for the people living there. When I got there, I was driving, and I couldn't find parking, that was the only problem.

I've moved to Brookdale Farmington Hills. So far, I like that they provide three meals a day, and the food is good. They seem to care about people, and the staff is friendly and helpful. There are transportations close to places you need to be. There are a lot of socialization opportunities. Their dining area is large with excellent food. All the rooms in different places I've visited were the same. I have a single bedroom with a living room, bathroom, and bedroom. A screened-in porch is also one of the amenities, and it's all on one floor.

My sister likes Brookdale Farmington Hills, because there is a small screened porch to where she lets her kitties out, everything's on one floor, and they have some really nice people. In their rooms, they have a thing they can pull if they need help. Then they have a library, a salon, and lots of areas where you can go out and take your book and read. We went down for dinner and I thought the food was very good. She says the food is good, too. I thought that place was very pleasant and very nice. She also went down for Easter and they had music and stuff. She really enjoyed that.

The entire facility of Brookdale Farmington Hills is beautiful and the staff was very professional during my tour. It's independent living but I know they prepare meals at that facility. They had a balcony where you could walk out from your nice patio. It was screened-in too.

I went to visit the Brookdale Farmington Hills. It's nice. I like the layout. It's a very friendly atmosphere. I like the room set up. The staff who gave me the tour was very nice and made me feel very welcome. The rooms were very nice and neat. It was an ideal place to move into. They got quite a bit of activities from what I can tell. They got a pool. It was nice. I like the layout. The one thing I like about it is that everything is on one level. No climbing the stairs, no elevators, nothing like that.

We liked the fact that Brookdale Farmington Hills have activities within the community and the complex. It's a nice place. It's one story and they have nice people. They were all friendly and knew what they were doing. . The room was just adequate. We like the enclosed patio and the nice dining area they had. We liked the fact that they use tablecloths for dinner at night. They're friendly to dogs and we have one. We had lunch there and it was a good meal.

I went to Brookdale Farmington Hills. The director, who managed them, and gave me the interview, was extremely nice. I thought that it was nice, and looked pretty, it looked clean. But when I entered the facility, I don't know if it's my imagination, but it seemed darker to me, it didn't seem as light as what I like. It could have been the paint, it could have been the way it was decorated, it just seemed a little darker, but otherwise, it was very nice. That's the one that had like a little patio or a little porch, from the living room, you go on outside and you're on a porch. That was a nice feature.

Brookdale Farmington Hills was nice. The lady who presented the tour was very good, but it was just not quite what my sister was looking for. The unit was smaller, and so she wasn't comfortable with it. The place was also older and more dated, but the location was OK. It wasn't hard to get to or anything.

I really liked Brookdale Farmington Hills. I liked the building and the person who took me through, she was very pleasant, but it turned out to be more expensive. They didn't have a two-bedroom available, but she showed me one where we just asked the people living there if we could go in and they let us go in. She said I could move to a one-bedroom first, and then once the two-bedroom is available, I could move. That really didn't sound like something that I really wanted to do, but they were all professional.

Brookdale Farmington Hills was kind of a rundown place. I wasn't really impressed. The staff was nice, but the building itself was way older. The units were a little small and rundown. They had a beauty salon, a little room with some books, and a gathering area. The dining area was like cafeteria-ish. To me, the whole facility was kind of rundown and old. I wouldn't want to live there, and I know my mother wouldn't want to live there. They need to update and clean things up. They have to remodel it.

Brookdale Farmington Hills is our third choice. We went in person, but we didn't go through the whole building. We just saw their sample model set up and their lobby. They also had video tours. We only got inside and looked at the room, but we didn't get to go through the room or anything else. It was all good, it was just a little bit more expensive than the other place we looked at. We're looking at a long-term stay, so we have to stretch the dollars as much as we can. They were also only unfurnished rooms and didn't include the furniture. You have to pay for cable TV, you have to pay for internet, where all of that is included in this other facility, plus the price was cheaper compared to this one.

We took my sister to Brookdale Farmington Hills, but the woman there felt my sister had some psychological problems. They told her to get some help and then come back. Rebecca who showed us around was just extraordinary. It was beautiful there. There were people in the common area and she showed us the bedrooms. It was very clean, very welcoming, and warm. The residents we saw sitting in the common area seemed very content. It was nice and so welcoming. We went up the pathway, it was peaceful, and it was serene. You can just sit outside on the bench and take it in. You can hear the birds, you can feel the flowers there, and see the beauty in them. It was just beautiful. The person who accommodated me I would rate a five plus plus; she was incredible. My sister dealt with a lot of abuse and needs a lot of psychological help. She sometimes takes a few sips of beer just to sedate herself from everything that she had been through. This poor woman at 70 years old has been through hell and back, so she needs some therapy. Like Rebecca said, she was very emotional. Rebecca was being honest with us. She said she was not ready for this place yet. She needs therapy. Rebecca was really straightforward; that's what I love about her. She was really analyzing my sister while she was talking to her. She could see the hurt, the anxiety, and the stress.

The apartments at Brookdale Farmington Hills were nice, but the place was really not kept up well. The staff members did their job, answered all our questions, and were pleasant to work with. There wasn't anything really going on. The people were mostly in their rooms. They had a dining room and an activity center. They either need more help with their maintenance or they just need to adjust the things that need to be replaced. There were stains on the ceiling tiles from previous water damage, and there were stains all over the carpet. The doors in the hallway were pretty beat up as was the drywall itself.

My dad is a resident of Brookdale Farmington Hills. They've been very helpful to get things done, and they were able to move him within 2 days. The place is very clean, and they really take good care of him. I have no complaints whatsoever. He is in the assisted living, and they had an outside contractor that is in charge of his direct care for showering, and taking him for meals. They're very good also. Some of my other family members were able to taste the food, and they said it's very good, they have restaurant style dining, they have several things to choose in the menu, you order what you want, and they serve it at the table. I have issues with their carpet being a little old, and they're working on getting it replaced. They have a lot of activities but my father has not yet participated. They also offer field trips every day. They have a library, and they had a lot of different things. The price is a little high for my liking, but my dad was given a $400 discount simply because he requires full care.

I fell in love with Brookdale Farmington Hills. It is a beautiful place. One of the things I love best is that they have screened-in porch on every unit, which is great. Also they didn't have any problems with my dog. All of those were good. It was a lovely place, but it was just outside my reach. The rooms were adequate size. They were not large but they're enough. You can bring in your couch, a couple of chairs and a coffee table. The bedroom was big enough to have a dresser, a bed and a desk. The rooms were very attractive. The people were extremely pleasant. I would love to have lived there but it was out of my reach. You can have all your meals there anytime you want or you can cook in your own apartment. They take small tours and they have the bus going some place every day. It was just a really pleasant atmosphere. I had lunch there and it was nicely portioned. Food was good and tasty. It was really very nice.

My mother moved into Brookdale Farmington Hills 3 days ago. We liked that it was smaller, the screen-in porch was a plus, the staff is caring, and the sales agent was very warm. Everyone was very warm. It was older, but it was fine and clean. The dining room is really nice, comfortable, and warm. The hot water could be hotter, but so far shes enjoying the meals very much. Theres bingo, something for dementia patients, and theres a beauty salon and a library.

My mom lives in Brookdale Farmington Hills now. We were looking for something reasonable and found it there. The services seem to be better than I expected. Brookdale Farmington Hills is an independent place that offers assistance as time progresses and as my mom needs it. Everything is one story. They have screened-in porches and doorwalls leading out of the living room, so it is more like a home. Everybody can go outside. The staff is very receptive to all my questions. The cooking and the food are outstanding. My mom has no complaints, and trust me, she would! She needs food to be delivered so she doesn't have to go to the dining room, and they have accommodated that. My mom gets to order different things and have extra items. It is outstanding and much better than I thought it would be.

Brookdale Farmington Hills was a warm and nice environment. They were very welcoming. We also liked the size of the rooms. We liked that Brookdale told us that everyone there has needs and that they can work with us. It was much more of a friendly reception. Mom really liked the way the rooms were set up and that she could have a little screened-in porch attached to her room. It was an older place but I didn’t notice anything bad. They had organized trips every day which was interesting to my mother. They also had game nights and she's excited with that. They had a community room where you could get coffee and just sit there with guests. The manager met me late in the day and she was happy to stay late to talk to me. She was very nice to assist me and explain things to me in her office. The front desk person was very nice, too.

I was familiar with Brookdale when it was called something else. I liked their setup; it was also very nice. What I like is the fact that they have a screened in porch at the back and just that little area made it homey. I also liked that it was basically on one level, and there was access to green space. What impressed me about them was their policy that if they did not hear from you by 10:00 AM, they did a wellness check. The other places might do that, but I was impressed with that. I am all about the little screened in porch at the back because that was just a really nice part of space.

Brookdale Farmington Hills is awful and old. They have remodelled the place a bit, but still it’s very old. The rooms are average, not really big. It looked small because of the wallpaper and dark cabinets. The ceilings are low, which it made it more dark. I would not go there.

Brookdale Farmington Hills was absolutely beautiful and gorgeous in any way, shape, or form. The problem was their price. The rooms were very nice and a small cottage or hotel-type place, nice and bright, with a nice living room common area. The staff was wonderful, knowledgeable, and had been there for a long, long time. They had a beautiful, enclosed courtyard. The food smelled very good while people were eating. It was very nice. They have outing, play cards and do craft activities. They also have music therapy.

This is a very nice facility w/a very nice staff. However please note; they will charge *60 days of rent when you move out. This seems quite excessive, particularly given the typical circumstances. Keep in mind, this is a senior residence; all of the residents are elderly. Why do they leave? They most often leave suddenly. And they leave either because of death, deteriorating health that requires a move to somewhere w/higher levels of care, or they've run out of money. And this usually goes hand in hand with increased financial burdens. (Now it's acknowledged that in the "apartment" industry one generally has to give some sort of advance notice, usually 30 days. Sixty seems very excessive even in non-senior housing.) To charge 60 days to residents when they have to leave under the typical difficult circumstances one encounters w/seniors seems predatory on Brookdale Corporation's part. Bottom line: the staff and mgmt at Grand Court are very nice and quite capable and offer good value for the money. But the 60 day "exit fee" - likely mandated by Corporate - leaves a bad taste in one's mouth. (To be fair, I do not know if this is typical of other similar senior residences; though even if it is that doesn't make it right.) Yes, the contract specifies the 60 days when you move in, so it's "not a surprise". ...but when you're actually faced w/it it still seems predatory.

I chose Brookdale Farmington Hills because my dad had his own apartment, not just a room. I looked at other communities where he would only have a room, and everything else was shared. He was able to bring all of his furniture from his prior residence, which made it feel more like home. I think that the staff is wonderful; they take good care of him. He doesn’t get involved in any activities because he has always been a loner, so he pretty much keeps to himself. I’ve arranged for them to come and get him for all of his meals, and I haven't heard any complaints about the food. Trust me: if he didn’t like it, he’d let me know. The dining area is nice. I just have one problem with it: residents have assigned times, so everybody has to be down at their assigned time, but then end up standing around and waiting for their names to be called.

I would recommend it here. It's a very nice facility. They had their own little enclosed porch. They were very good to my mother. She had two dogs, and they allowed her to keep both with her, which became therapy dogs for everybody. The staff was wonderful. The food was really good. It was clean.

I liked it, but I am not ready to move yet. I thought it was a very nice place, and if I were ready to move I would go there and have lunch and try that out, walk through it again, and maybe spend some time talking to the people to see if they were my sort. And then, I thought it was a nice atmosphere.

It was very nice and larger than I thought it would be. It was very clean, and people were very nice to us. They go out a lot of places; they go to banks and stores. The dining area was very nice like a restaurant. It is close to where my mom lives right now; that’s why we liked it.

It was a nice place, but because it was geared more towards people that were older and had medical problems, it wasn't for me because I don't need a lot of care right now. However, it was perfect if I needed a place for someone who needed medical care. The people were very nice and very friendly. The rooms were very nice, and I really liked the rooms. They had activities like bingo and lots of different card games.

I moved my mom in. It is roomy, it has a separate bedroom, a small kitchenette, and also a screened in porch in the back. I don't have a problem with the staff -- I have met them all. I met the director and his assistant, and the girls come down and take my mother to breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The food is good. They have bus trips, but my mom is not really eager to go. They got a library and movies on Sunday, bingo, and all kinds of stuff. I like the roominess of it. This is all a one-level facility with 160 rooms.

It was nice outside. The staff was nice. I thought the place was secured because they had some sort of security code for you to go in and out. We tried the food, and it was very good. However, we were not able to see the room because there was no empty room available for us to look at. They could improve on having more rooms.

We chose it because we liked it, and they took dad. The staff was very, very helpful and that helped make our decision. They offer diffferent things there; he has therapy that is right in-house, and they have the additional care that they assist with whatever he needs. His apartment is very nice. I know they have quite a few activities. I know he has done some arts and crafts. They've had people come in that sing and he has enjoyed that as well.

The thing that we liked was that it was competitively ranked. Most importantly, it had much more space than other places in the area. It has a front room, a bedroom, and a bath -- kind of like a small apartment. That was an easier transition; some of the places we looked at are just studios that were just a bit too small. So the configuration of the room was a major factor. It looked like it was in good condition and well kept. The staff was friendly, too. I wasn’t able to eat there during the visit but afterwards, one of the staff brought over some food as a courtesy to my dad’s current home so he could try it there. So that was added customer service. I think he was satisfied with it.

The facilities are clean, orderly and generally well-maintained. It's apparant that the staff do what they can to make the environment comfortable and enjoyable for every one of the residents. The residents, of course, vary in their needs in terms of care and involvement, but each time I visit, I note that those who seem to really require assistance are provided with it, and those who are able to function primarily without assistance are afforded a comfortable level of independence. The living arrangements are simple, but nice. The personal space is adequate for one person, but I cannot imagine trying to fit the lives of two adults in one of the apartments. The apartments are equipped with basic kitchens, though the dining hall serves meals regularly enough to where my grandmother rarely feels the need to cook. It seems as though residents have all that they need, and much of what they would want. I often have to coordinate my visits so as not to interfere with my grandmother's social activities around the facility, including bingo, movies, musical performances and entertainment of any variety. The facility also provides some limited transportation to and from local businesses if or when residents want to buy groceries, clothes or anything else available in a few local shopping centers. Planned trips to concerts or other entertainment events are also not uncommon, and while I'm not certain if involvement in those trips is included in the monthly rates, it seems as though my grandmother enjoys them enough to keep going. All in all, I'm happy to know that she enjoys her new living arrangements and that a moderate decrease in independence was at least mostly offset by socialization and activity, and that there was thus no appreciable decrease in her quality of life during what may be her most precious years.

They have the cheapest rates for what they offered out of all the facilities we've looked at. The amount of money, what we needed, it seemed to be the best value. It seemed to be a nice facility. The staff was very helpful and nice. They had a lot of activities there and they also had a rehab center on the site. They had a pleasant dining area and mom's room is spacious and bright. I know that the outside fire doors at the end of the hallways though are very hard to open for the older person, so I hope they can fix that. I am assured of leaving my mom in their care. I liked the place overall.

I've only been a week here and I'm still learning myself. I particularly like the porch. Everyone has a porch. It has a full kitchen it's more or less like a small house, and the bathroom is nice. I think that this facility is good or I would have not moved here. I'm still adjusting but the staff is nice.

I think it is an excellent choice for anyone who is looking for a placement for a friend or family member. While there, I noticed that the residents were socializing and eating their dinner and the food looked excellent and the residents conveyed to me that the food also taste excellent as well. The California style looking motel looks like a great but unique vacations resort getaway. The residents resort style living looks like they are on their vacation instead of living there. It is so very unique but comfortable looking. Grand Court of Farmington Hills offer exceptional Services amenities and opportunities for their residents. They also offer their residents a Spiritual Based community as well in their facility. The facility is clean and does not smell. The surrounding suburban neighborhoods' are very beautiful and well landscaped, maintained and structured and is such a quiet and beautiful living area. The management and staff there are very nice and professional, team, task oriented in their job duties and their performances. They also offer their residents special events and group activities. It has a very contemporary style décor and it is very well coordinated to match as well. The residents like it there and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone that is looking for placement for a friend or a family member. It is like living in a fabulous hotel in Phoenix Arizona it looks like summer all year round with its unique structure. The staff treats the residents like family and the residents there like it there. In general, I would rank this facility on a five stars rating for its expertise and excellence. I know that the residents there receive excellent care there and they are very happy there also.
