My mother in law is at Torrey Pines and enjoys it there. There are nine people in the home. The food is great and cooked from scratch. The staff is great and keep an eye on her. I would recommend them. They call and update us on everything. We were very happy we found a place.

I liked that Torrey Pines House of Bread was more of a family setting. There were fewer rooms, but they had probably spent more attention on each individual's needs. People were eating together and there were a lot of common areas that they spent more time in. The staff was really friendly. There was at least one cook and there was a senior person there that was helping with the daily needs of everybody and she took us through on a tour. The facilities were good. The only downside was the rooms didn't have their own bathroom and that would be a little bit difficult for my mom. Other than that, there were at least two common bathrooms there and they were clean. They had amenities. They had a couple of family rooms, a large kitchen, and a meditation room.

Torrey Pines House of Bread was very nice. The people were very positive and friendly. It was a positive experience. The private room available was very small. It's an older home that's been converted into a facility, so that kind of gave it some limitations. The people were very nice and informative, but we weren't impressed with the facility itself.

Torrey Pines House of Bread looked clean and they had enough staff members to handle the people. The kitchen looked clean. I didn't like that they had an upstairs when most residents have dementia and going upstairs is scary for them. The staff member during the tour seemed nice. It looked very dated. It's an old house, but it looked clean. The residents were taking naps and some were watching television. It looked nice outside and the parking seemed ample. The dining area and the bedrooms were small. The lighting was very poor and it was very dark.
