My stepfather is in Royal View Retirement Community. The place is excellent, I have nothing but good stuff to say about them. The staff is wonderful, they've been very helpful and caring. The only issue I have is that they were very expensive, but they're cheaper than a lot of the other places. It's almost $5,000 a month. The staff is just very compassionate and very knowledgeable. From what my stepfather says, the food is good. They have several activities but he hasn't been part of them. They could have a little bit more outings. They're much better value than some of the other places I looked into as far as what you get for your money. They have a barbershop and an in-house doctor that comes in, which is very convenient.

My father-in-law is in Royal View. It's been absolutely wonderful. The people are friendly and they are always checking up on him. He's made friends and they have fun community activities. He's getting really good care. It's a beautiful facility and it's convenient. They have exercise classes every day, bible study, and bingo, and they recently had a big picnic with all these antique cars and he absolutely loved that. They do field trips like to the local ice cream place, which he really enjoyed. There's a men's breakfast where the guys get together. The meals are wonderful, but they have to get themselves to the meals. They always try to sit him with the guys because there aren't as many. It's a very friendly atmosphere and it's homey. It's immaculate. This place is just the most beautiful place ever.

My mother was in this facility which is an absolutely beautiful place. I was very disappointed on 2 separate occasions. The first occasion was just a few days before Christmas when the manager called my home to inform me that my mother's cat had to be taken from the home immediately. I had been expecting this call since Mom kept putting cat litter down the toilet and blocking up the plumbing. I was not however expecting that I would have no advance warning what so ever. The second time happened when the manager called me at work to tell me that my mother wold have to be removed from the home by that very evening. I once again was expecting to move Mom to another facility because she would wander. I had a meeting set up with the manager for the next week. I was not however; expecting to receive a call at 2:00PM telling me that I had until 7:00PM that evening to remove my mother. I feel that both of these thing were handled in a very poor and unprofessional manner.
