Whole building was clean and orderly. Had a "homey" feel to it. Rooms kept clean and sanitary. Most meals were prepared and delivered hot/warm. Much better food then given in hospital. Good variety offered. ONLY main concern was the midnight shift of staff. Either they were understaffed-or just unresponsive when I used the call light, and would wait indefinitely for help to arrive. Once I could get out of bed and use the walker, I would search the building until I found a staff member and convey my need/problem to them. Otherwise, I may never have gotten help!!!! Day, afternoon and evening staff was the opposite and usually quick to respond. PT and OT were very thoughtful and through. Exercises and strength-building rapidly improved my condition. Saw the doctor regularly-three times a week. Social Worker and other staff were very cordial and very helpful

Everything about this nursing home is HORRIBLE! The staff treats the patients like complete trash. Everytime you ring for a nurse for help or medicine etc. The wait was always anywhere between 45 min to 90 min yet you could always hear the nurses at the nurses station laughing and carrying on while the patients wait, and I was UNABLE to walk. The nurses would always cuss and yell or threaten patients if the patients were crying in pain or had other issues going on. The food was always extremely small portions, my 5 yr old grandson eats more than that, don't ask for anything else to eat either because they won't give you anything else. I was admitted to this nursing home for 4 months,. I kept asking them to please change my bed sheets, NEVER happened. This place is disgusting as well as the staff. Please don't take your loved ones to Livonia Woods, you will regret it 100% if you do.

the meals were totally inadequate, for what they must be charging the ins. co...1 piece of pizza, cold, how can a person be expected to heal with food like that? no one came when the patient had to pee, not once in 3 times, he ended up peeing the bed...sitting in his own urine. the staff with a few exceptions is surly and slow. they make no bones about hating thier job

Place is a joke they didn’t even try to get ahold of his family for months and they had hi wallet that had my address on it. For dinner he would get 1 taco or one piece of pizza said if you asked for something else you got a piece of cheddar cheese!!!

Month of January I had to go to rehab after surgery. I worked in Nsg, centers for years and was very leary to go to one. Needless to say I was very pleased with the care of the staff and how compassionate they were with other residents. The rehab dept (Diamond Rehab) were excellent and personal. I would strongly recommend this facitity, My transition home was made easy and continued with Diamond Rehab.

This is the 3rd time my mom has been to rehab at this facility over the past 5 years. She has been to other rehabs but this is the one we request first and foremost. It is an older building but it is clean and well maintained. The staff is caring and compassionate. The rehab is top notch!! Any issues or special requests have been taken care of promptly. I would definitely recommend Livonia Woods for you loved ones.

I have to disagree with some of the negative reviews I see here. I have found the staff to be very attentive, friendly and organized. My family member has improved 100% since coming here gravely ill from another less qualified assisted living facility. I would recommend Livonia Woods. The physical rehab and occupational therapy is top notch

My sister was in this place last year. She had just been discharged from the hospital after an overdose with resulting brain damage. She took off from this place after being there a day and was gone for 45 minutes, and none of the staff knew she was gone. Their excuse was that since she was not found incompetent, she could leave if she wanted to. I get that. The problem was they didn't even know she took off. When the staff person that I spoke to was looking for someone else, I spoke to another employee there who verified that they are very understaffed. I tried to talk my sister into staying there from day one even tho the place looks run down and she did not trust the staff. Now I feel badly for trying to talk her into staying there. It wasn't right, of course, that she took off because she was in harm's Way.. The fact that she could slip out of there without detection for this amount of time is ridiculous. I would never recommend this place to anyone

By far the laziest staff I have ever seen in a SKILLED CARE FACILITY. We actually hired someone from outside the organization to assist with the care of our family member. The fastest response I ever received after hitting the call light was 20 minutes! CNA's and Nurses actually stood by and watched as we cared for our family member. This place is overpriced understaffed. Shameful!!!!

Go on a weekend, check out the staff to patient ratio. There are no laws regarding this, only guidelines. Overheard today (2-27-16) in the dining room - a resident saying that only one person was in charge of 300 patients the night before. They are severely understaffed, and staff on hand are mostly aides that they can pay minimally. This is 'non-profit' yet they charge $8000 a month per patient (and no, do Not accept Medicaid, that was a funny statement I read here). Where does the money go? Not into staff, or meeting the needs of the residents. If your loved one needs care - run, don't walk, away from this place. It's sad that this is even allowed.

Recently my mom had a stay at Livonia Woods, this was her second time there. The administration staff is excellent, qualified and caring people. The rehab department is very good and realistic about limits and goals of the patient. David the activities director, is the shining star of the facility with his consistent care and concern. I agree with the previous reviewer about the dining room being small, but it's ok. The quality of the food is average, they do try to accommodate a patient's requests when possible. Nursing and aid staff do the best they can considering there are numerous patients do deal with at all times. As a family member, my best advice is to be hands on. It's unrealistic to think that you can just drop off your loved one and everything will go without a glitch. At any nursing home, you will need to double check on the patient's medications, meals, grooming, etc., and do the best you can to work with the staff.

I Think 95% of nursing homes are horrible and we have one screwed up healthcare system. I do not like this place because some of nurses have an attitude problem. They stick them in rooms and leave them there. Let other people scream in their beds for 15 minutes. A residing Dr would rather give up on his rehab patients then help them overcome illness. I would not recommend and definitely wouldn't want myself there

My mother received several weeks of rehab at Livonia Woods following a stroke. I can compare this facility to two others in the area where a family member was treated and it is far superior in comparison. Livonia Woods is clean and pleasantly decorated. The staff provide good care and the Speech Therapy, Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy provided there was more individualized than my mother received in a hospital based Acute Rehab setting. I think that the staff worked well together and everyone from nursing staff to administration followed the individual care plans. The only suggestion I would make is to have a larger dining area so that the majority of patients would be encouraged to eat their meals together, rather than in their rooms, this would probably help them with their rehab goals.

Unless your loved one is in excellent health, do not use this facility! My Mother, wujo had cancer and dementia was discharged there for skilled nursing care and rehab, and had my Brother not had medical training, she would have died there due to inept nurses and CNAs. We found our Mom unresponsive when we visited her the 3rd day of her stay, and when my Brother performed a sternal rub, she moaned slightly. I had to run to the nurses station to tell them to call an ambulence.
