My dad has moved into a place called Caremore of Oxford Assisted Living. It's a laid-back community. It's a big house and they have 15 residents in it. It's a nice little community. They have like a game room and there's a patio where they set it up when it's warmer. The residents can go outside, and they have barbecue grills out there. It seems to be okay. The staff is very friendly. We were recommended by a person whose father is there and he loves it there, and the staff is very nice. I've seen nicer places, but they are a lot more expensive. It's an older place, but the value for money is very good. My dad's room is clean. It's a big semi-private room. It's pretty nice.

My dad moved to Caremore of Oxford Assisted Living. It's very nice. It's homey and not like a facility. It's not like a hospital building. It's just like an old home that someone converted into an assisted living. He would feel very comfortable thre because it's like his home. The staff is very accommodating. They have plenty of staff for the people. They're just all very nice. He can get up for breakfast whenever he wants. He can go have breakfast at the table or have his meals in bed. They're very accommodating and very nice. They have a company come in to do activities with them. They play baseball, do crafts, and stuff like that with them. The dining area is like going into your kitchen, where your dining room is. It's very clean. The meals are good, and he enjoys it so far. A lot of places you go in and they stink because it's all mostly old people, so it smells like urine and stuff like that. This place did not. It smelled very clean, and it was just wonderful.

I visited Caremore of Oxford Assisted Living, and I thought it was very poorly run. The lady that toured us was really nice, but I didn't like the way the TV remote was set up. I didn't like the fact that there was urine and stool in the toilets. I thought the place was very dirty. I saw bugs crawling around, and I wouldn't put my mother in that. The rooms were too small for two people also. I didn't really see amenities. They were just watching TV when I was there, and one person was sleeping in the kitchen on the dining room table. The TV room is just rows of La-Z-Boy recliners. It's not even homey. It's just something that they threw together just to get people in. The location was nice, but they need to keep the property up better. They just need to do an overhaul on the inside. It's very dirty and needs a good cleaning. For what they're charging, I'm getting that same amount in my mother's current place. I'm getting more services at her current place, and I'm getting a better location and a cleaner one.

I took a tour of Caremore of Oxford Assisted Living, and when I went there, I had someone with me. We were both very depressed because it was like a house that was built on and on; it was not taken care of. The most horrible thing was I had seen a picture of cozy chairs in a circle with a TV. When I got in there, there were three women who were drugged and out just slumped in those chairs. The worst part was we went outside, and they had this little yard. The one who accompanied us said it was all closed in there. I informed her that my husband has been known to run away. She said, "Let's hope he doesn't wander because we got four acres here," which meant it wasn't secure if he were to get out. It was not a place that I would put anybody in. The room was very clean. It was painted a very pretty blue. I liked it because when you went in, it was like a complete square, so you had more to work with. They had a big shower down the hall. It was a huge place, but it was not well taken care of, though it was very well lit. The furniture was kind of really old.

I find the staff at Campbell Personal Care Home to be very competent and caring. There are two or three people to a room, and there are men and women residents in the place. They can accommodate a maximum of 16 residents. The outside looks fine, it's in a rural area that's very easy to get to. They post on the board the food they're going to have for the day.
