I visited this facility

I liked Mercy Village. The facility was clean. It was great. The staff was good. The living atmosphere was great. It looked very relaxed. The dining area looked great as well. They had an outdoor area. It was a patio-type thing, so that was good.

Provider Response

Patricia, thank you for your kind words & for sharing your positive experience. If you have any further questions, please give us a call. We're always happy to help!

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mother is at Mercy Village. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The residents seem to be very welcoming. It's clean and well-maintained. The food is average, not anything special. The maintenance has been very responsive to any needs she's had. I appreciate the care the staff gives to my mom. It gives me peace of mind to know she's among people that care for her. The food needs room for improvement, not availability, it would be the quality of what they're serving.

Provider Response

Dear Kathleen - Thank you for sharing. Our staff is committed to excellence, and they go above and beyond to prove it every day. We appreciate your feedback regarding the meals and will share that with our team. We look forward to your next visit! Take care!

We chose Mercy Village for my mother because it was clean, it smelled great, and you got a warm, homey feeling when walking through the front door. The staff is very attentive and they're quick to call back also. They have multiple exercise classes, they have multiple outings, they have multiple activities such as movies and basic learning things. The facility is very easy to maneuver through and get to the places you need to get to. The facility is renovated, they're up to date, and the staff is on task when something happens and needs to be fixed.

Provider Response

Thank you for your review. Here at Mercy Village we take pride in providing a great senior community!

I visited this facility

I toured Mercy Village. It seemed very clean. I think it's good. It was small though. All they had available was a studio apartment, which is not what I wanted. It seemed very clean. The person who accommodated me was very good. She was very personable, easy to talk to, and seemed to be right on top of everything. She showed me the menu, and everything seemed clean and nice. They seemed excellent. It just wasn't what I wanted. I wanted more of an apartment than a studio.

Provider Response

Thank you so much for your kind review.

I visited this facility

Mercy Village looked very nice, very clean, neat, and friendly. It had all the things you would look for. The staff was more than friendly, informative, knowledgeable, and without any pressure. There's a movie theater there, they've got different activities that go on, a game room, a library, and they pick you up and do shopping expeditions out into town there and bring you back. They keep them quite active. The rooms were very neat, quite updated in the appliances and whatnot, and had kind of a vinyl-type floor, which is easy to keep clean.

Provider Response

I visited this facility

We toured Mercy Village. The facility is very, very clean and large. The administrator that showed us around was very polite. I think her name was Jan. She took time with us, sat down, and answered all our questions. She told us about the facility and how great the place was. They have no shortage of workers there like most places do now. She said that speaks to the staffing and that the management is good. We walked around and looked at some of the rooms. The rooms were nice and clean. They have quite the menu for the seniors. They have a large dining hall, and then they have a smaller one if they prefer a smaller room. We talked to some of the seniors. They were playing cards. They have an outdoor area for them. They have an activities calendar. It's nice. We stayed there for almost an hour just walking and talking about it. It's a really nice place. I wasn't able to try the food, but they have quite a variety. They have three choices. Not everyone eats the same things. They have quite the menu to choose from. They can come to the dining room and eat, or they can have them bring it to their room and eat it. Most of the time, they try and get them to come out to the dining room but if they want to stay in their room, they will bring their meals to them. They have an activities room, they have a theater on the third floor, and they have elevators. They have card tables if they want to play. A lot of them like to play cards after dinner. They have a piano, so if some of them would like to play the piano, they can feel free to go play that. They have two shuttles and they will shuttle them anywhere they want to go and pick them up on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which is a nice option. They have a little snack room where they can purchase like if they want a snack, a candy bar, or a can of pop, they can do that as well. They have a barbershop and a small beauty salon if they want a haircut or hairdo. For the short time that I was there, I did not see anything that I didn't like. As we passed the staff, they say, 'have a good evening,' and 'hi, how are you?' Everybody was friendly.

Provider Response

Alicia, we are very happy to have provided you with such a positive experience! Thank you, and have a fantastic day!

My mother is in Mercy Village. They're very helpful. It's overall a good experience. She's happy with the food. They usually have an activity or some kind of entertainment every day. She's in a one-bedroom apartment and it's nice. It has a nice kitchen, a nice seating area, the bedroom is good sized, and the bathroom is good. I'm happy with it.

My mom was at Mercy Village for several years. It was a bigger place. Even though she was at the independent living, it kind of felt like an assisted living. It was a little more institutional. Their food was good and the price was quite a bit more, but it was a good value. It was an older building, but the cleanliness was also good. They had a patio in their courtyard, a beauty salon, and chair exercises for the people to do.

Provider Response

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. Please don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything additional we can do for you.

I visited this facility

I had an in-person tour. I would say the overall experience was good. The staff members were well-informed. I felt that Mercy Village was a little more outdated. The grounds and stuff were nice, but nothing spectacular. They did not have balconies and patios for every unit, which for us is very important because my mom has a pet. The staff members were very nice everywhere we went, very accommodating, and very friendly. There was no storage in the rooms, the closets were very small, and not a lot of storage space. They have beautiful courtyards and whatnot, but just nothing right off your room. They do have a physical therapy area, they had nice things, and they have common rooms that are used for games, events, and entertainment. They didn't have as many amenities in the building as some of the others did.

It is very good. We have an apartment and we're independent. They have services available but we don't use them. We get meals, housekeeping, and free TV and internet. There's a lot of sociability at suppertime. It's located very conveniently. There are lots of stores, malls, a Target, Best Buy, McDonald's, and restaurants nearby. The people are very nice and treat us wonderfully. We're quite happy. You get one meal included. You can have more than that, but you have to pay for extra meals. They play exercises and music, and there's always something to do in the afternoon. They have church facilities and they play movies. This place is a bargain. We get a lot for our money. They repeat a lot of the menu over a three-week period, but the food is good. It's a very good building, but we have three floors and over 300 units. For something that size they need a maintenance man for each floor. The screens, windows and heating need attention, and they only have one guy. He is good, but he can't get around that fast.

Provider Response

Dear DS, Thank you very much for taking the time to post your kind comments about Mercy Village. Our staff works very hard to provide great activities, amenities, and food for our residents, and we agree – our Maintenance Director, Dave, is one of the hardest working colleagues in our community! We are so happy to hear that you are so happy living at Mercy Village, and we so appreciate your support.

I visited this facility

Mercy Village is nice. I'm familiar with them because our neighbor stayed there. She looked happy there. They have very nice rooms with little kitchen facilities, which is very nice. They take good care of their residents. However, I didn't like it as much because it was more assisted living than the other two communities. I'm not ready for that. Assisted living is available on-site, which is desirable if you needed it. It is more assisted than residential. For that reason, I don't feel as comfortable there.

I had a very positive experience Mercy Village. The people were gracious when I visited. They serve three meals a day. They have almost everything you want, like church and all kinds of things to keep you busy. The staff is very informative. Whenever I call back to ask questions, they have been very pleasant.

Mercy Village was a beautiful place. They had all kinds of activities. The rooms were really clean and nice. The staff was really nice. I had a wonderful visit, but it's too expensive for me. It's a great place, and it's close to the mall.

I visited this facility

The staff seemed very professional, helpful, and pleasant. All who I encountered seemed to know a good deal about the facility, including areas that weren't necessarily their direct concerns. There is 24 hour supervision, and 24 hour emergency response, which is important to me as my mother has become more physically unstable. The menus are quite impressive from the food service, which is important since my mother was a great cook, and appreciates being able to have a quality meal since her abilities to make her own are now limited. They also offer enough recreation possibilities that if my mother ends up there she will still have the chance to socialize from time to time. The facility itself is very nice, and modern yet "homey," and I believe it was built within the last 10 years, so there's little sign of wear through the building. This has the added benefit of the medical things on site being up-to-date, including the exam rooms. They also provide transportation for residents, in a rather nice shuttle bus, with comfortable and spacious seating, and accommodates handicapped equipment quite well. The apartments are very nice, well equipped, and well-maintained. The price is higher than I'd hoped, but within what seems to be the range for such places, including those that aren't as recently constructed.

The room that my Great Grandmother stayed in was a perfect size for her. The layout was easy for her to move around in. She lived on her own like she always wanted, but there was someone always there for her unlike her home in Florida. The dining room and rec room were very nice. The church services were a welcome bonus. My Great Grandmother liked living there. The staff was all very helpful. I was never concerned about her being mistreated like you hear in those horror stories on the news. Overall, my grandmother and my family were all very happy with her stay there.
