The facility is beautiful and well kept. It was refreshing to staff interacting with patients compassionately. Staff responded to my patient concerns and I was informed of any and all issues timely. I wholeheartedly recommend Regency Heights for rehabilitative purposes.

If you’re looking for a great staff to interact with your loved one’s and put their well being first, this is the place that genuinely cares for their residents. The minute you walk in you’re greeted by the receptionist , the most important thing for the residents is to feel at home, safe and loved. I’ve witnessed the Activities Director and her staff go over and beyond to show love in so many ways. There’s always theme activities, picnics, music, singing and conversations with a smile.. They work together to assure the residents at Regency feel at home surrounded by love from all.

My mother has been here on several occasions. This place use to be awesome. I was actually surprised because it’s in the inner city. Now, this place is gone down tremendously. When you call you barely get an answer. They are very understaffed so if your loved one is here they will not, I repeat they will not receive proper care. Also some of the staff dress like they are streetwalkers or going to a club, seeking attention. You need an appointment to see your loved one but if they aren’t answering the phone that might be a little difficult to do.

I was at Regency Heights for rehabilitation a few years ago. It was a nice place. They had nice facilities and a nice rehab program. My wife's mother also had been there before, so we knew about it. The staff was very personal and they showed a lot of compassion. The food was really good. They had lots of amenities. It was not crowded. The rooms were big, and we had nice furniture in the rooms. It didn't look like a hospital.

I had a relatives there and wanted to pay in advance for them to get their hair and nails done on a regular basis. First of all, no one in the activities room answered the telephone --- I had to call numerous times until someone finally did answer and then they had no idea what the prices were or if I could purchase gift certificates. They also mentioned that whoever it is that does the nails only comes on Fridays and that's a maybe. I called the Business office there and explained my concern and also to seek assistance. I left my name and telephone number. If they called me back you did. I would not recommend this place for anyone who cares about their loved ones.

We chose Regency Heights for my mother as it was close. Her room is sufficient, of decent size, and she has her own phone. The staff is OK. They have a very nice dining room. She is kind of a loner, and she does not usually go there unless they kind of push her. They have activities throughout the day like sing-alongs, church, and games, but they should have more one-on-one interacting with the clients.

I would not recommend Regency Heights for rehabilitation or in-patient care. My father was a patient at this facility and my godmother is currently a resident. While many of the staff members are kind and courteous, the level of care provided to the patients is substandard. Many of the caretakers on staff perform as is they are paraprofessionals or assistants who may be taking on the duties of skilled care givers without the expertise, insight, or patience that these professionals tend to possess. Patients needs often go unmet or the time taken to relieve them is unacceptable, most likely due to staff members being overworked, underskilled, and underpaid. Both my godmother and my father expressed extreme frustration with the conditions in Regency Heights. This facility may be attractively priced and centrally located, but it is not an environment where your loved one will be cared for like family. I do not recommend Regency Heights of Detroit, Michigan.
