My cousin has moved into Kalb AFC Home II. I like the owner. She was very accommodating and very nice, and she seemed to be flexible. They have a lot of strict rules, but I think my cousin will be taken care of better than where she was. The owner said that my cousin would never have to leave again. We were kicked out of the other one because we couldn't get on Medicaid. It was quiet and nice. There isn't a lot to do there, but I think my cousin liked it better because it's not a big facility, and they didn't force her to do anything and the food was better. From what I saw, the food looked a lot more appetizing and my cousin liked it better. She's picky and she only likes certain things. They told me that I could buy some stuff and put her name on it, and they would give that to her. I don't know exactly what they do, but there were only six residents there, and they all like doing their own thing. I'm starting to bring in activities, and they said I could do that and see if anyone wants to do them. So, they were flexible that way. They have a TV room, but there's only one TV. What I didn't care for is that there wasn't a lot to do. We used to be able to take my cousin for walks, and we can't do that because it's just a house. So, they're limited to the front room, their bedroom, and the kitchen. The dining area was very suitable and it was nice. That's where they would do their crafts if they had any and that's what we're gonna do today. I'm pretty impressed with the food. They keep it clean, and I like the way they do their laundry rather than a bigger facility. I think she gets better care there. She seems happier there. It's pretty reasonable compared to what I was paying. The pricing is about average out of all the different places I've called.
