The staff always leave the head of the bed raised resulting in my mother sleeping curled up on the remaining short portion of the bed. The bed also has a very hard thin mattress on it, resulting in my mother not sleeping well. My mother cannot operate the bed controls herself. They removed her phone so that she could not any longer phone me stating, per the "social worker" and a "supervisor", "Staff gave her phone numbers of non-family members who complained". They refused to put the phone back, choosing instead to punish her and me for staff misconduct. Staff had a difficult time understanding basic English, very frustrating. Staff also informed me that they were allowing non-county staff, non-medical staff to dictate thier behavior and decissions. It seems that this facility is lacking all appropriate oversight, and that staff are ill-trained in care of elderly persons' needs. However, I will say that the staff assigned at the rear enterance for checking in visitors are very kind, very helpful, and most considerate. Mores the pity that all staff there are not as human.

Eaton County Medical Care looks very new. It was fabulous, very clean, modern and the staff were excellent. My dad got rehab twice a day. He had a broken hip and he did very well with it. It was a great experience.

I recently visited a family member at this facility, and thought I'd like to take a moment to share my opinion on it. It is a newer facility. I really liked the atmosphere there, and being in one of the rooms made me feel more like being a home environment, rather than a clinical one. The staff was very nice and attentive to my family member, and professional and friendly to us as visitors. There are a lot of great activities and the facility sits on nice grounds, and is in a good safe area.Being a former nurse aid in another part of Michigan, I've seen a lot of different nursing homes and assisted living centers - this ranks right up there and is far better than most I frequented during my work.
