Care Cardinal in Belmont is a wonderful home. It is a very nice log cabin that sits off the road. It is beautiful. The staff are warm and friendly. My mother moved to Belmont just over a year ago and the difference since October is amazing. She is always clean and fixed up. Her room looks nice and everything smells fresh. The staff spend time with the residents. They play games and sing songs. My mother helps peel potatoes for dinner and often bakes with the girls. They even had a summer olympics for the residents. Angie is in charge of the building and she is amazing. She feels like part of our family. We laugh together and cry together when things get tough. She has made that house in to a home. My mom has a second family at Belmont. I highly recommend this community. We know mom is in good hands at Care Cardinal -Belmont

My mom has been a resident for the last 3 months at Care Cardinal and has received excellent care. When she arrived her sleep cycle was off, she had confusion and was mourning the recent loss of my dad. The staff were very kind and so understanding and helpful, providing what she needed during her transition time. The director was especially helpful with giving me and my family updates, suggestions, and in seeking additional resources to develop a care plan that would improve my mom's overall well being. It was a great relief to my family to observe improvement in her condition in such a short time. Any concerns (which were few) that we may have noticed with my mother's care were communicated by us, and dealt with immediately and effectively. I would certainly recommend this facility for loved ones with memory issues.

The manager of Cardinal Care is such a caring individual. When my sister was sent there, she wasn't doing too well. The last place hadn't taken very good care of her needs. In a very short time, my sister was given tremendous support and love, which is exactly what she needed. I have seen such an improvement in my sister- it's amazing. I no longer have to worry about how she's doing.because I'm kept up-to-date. The staff has been great and the facility is well-kept. I recommend this place whole-heartedly.

My sister Chris is living at Belmont. We find that the Executive Director Ms. Goetz, of the facility is kind, caring, thoughtful, generous, totally professional with a great staff. My sister is in great hands at Belmont. Chris is very happy. She needs a lot of help, and she gets it. Our family is quite pleased with Belmont.

Private rooms tiny, but the least of the issue. You will hear that there are activities and outings. This is an outright lie. They might make a craft once a week. There are no outings unless YOU provide them. The staff varies from fair to could-not-care-less. They only interact with each other unless prompted or it is mealtime. The residents enjoy NOTHING unless you bring it to them from the outside. There are no amenities. They seem to forget that the folks here HAVE DEMENTIA. Can you help them, encourage them, listen to their stories and ASSURE them? The directors leave quickly, probably because they seem wonderful and committed to changing these pathetic conditions, but the owners apparently will not back up ANY support or activity programs so their dedication forces them to leave. The food is decent. The caregivers don't communicate between shifts. They stand in a group away from the residents and talk about their jobs and weekends. They don't keep any record of what your loved one likes, issues they've had and how to help, or anything else. In short, this could be a wonderful home setting, and instead, you will be constantly worried about escape, getting yelled at, no support for confusion and total boredom, hastening their decline. The only time I saw caregivers interact voluntarily with a resident were when a director appeared on the scene. Suddenly they were sitting with them.

Beautiful setting. Dietary and staffing are issues.

Staffing ratios are a chronic problem with frequent periods where there is only one staff member on the floor for ten dependent Residents.

Our Mom is a resident at Care Cardinal of Belmont and is very happy there. The Care Givers are great with our mom and she has actually gained 10 pounds just in the couple of months she has been there. the food is really good all the care givers participate in preparing and cooking the meals.Care Cardinal of Belmont is as beautiful inside as it is out. A nice family home Atmosphere with cozy rooms, large bath rooms that can accommodate a walker or a wheelchair. Our entire family agree that we have made a good choice for our mom.

Care Cardinal Belmont was absolutely gorgeous. We loved the home itself. They have 10 residents there. The lady in-charge was new, so she couldn't give us a lot of answers. It didn't seem like she wanted to deal with my mother or with Medicaid. It was a nice, large home, it was very comfortable inside, very open, and wheelchair accessible.
