The cross-country move for both my parents -- from their own home in Georgia to StoryPoint Rockford in Michigan -- was a very difficult one. My mother had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and though we suspected my father's cognitive decline, my brother and I were unaware of the extent of his own dementia. Kim, Jenni, and Kathy were instrumental in my brother and me being able to move them. From my brother's and my first visit and tour of StoryPoint Rockford, we were aware of just how much the staff truly cared not only for the residents, but also for the residents' families. My parents have lived in the Memory Care Neighborhood for 18 months now. Every staff member knows -- truly KNOWS -- my parents. They know them so well that, when my father refers to "The Admiral," they know where he thinks he is, and they know enough to be able to converse with my father about the Admiral. They love my parents, truly love them. When the staff learned that my mother's recent terminal diagnosis, they cried. To a person, they spoke to me about how much they love my mom's "sass," how sad they were to learn of her current situation, how will each of them is to ensure that my mother is as comfortable as she can be. I know my parents, despite their physical and cognitive declines, are safe and comfortable. I am thankful every day that my parents are at StoryPoint Rockford. Without a doubt, regardless of expense, StoryPoint Rockford is the best, most effective, most caring environment and home for my parents.

We have had the absolute best experience with Story Point! When we were told by my grandma’s independent living facility that it was time for her to consider a place with more support, we selected a place that we immediately knew was not the right fit for my grandma. I immediately started doing more research and our family is so blessed to have found Story Point! I could go on and on, but the highlights include: *The friendly, open, CARING staff. From the director to food service to caregivers to maintenance to housekeeping! I don’t know how they hire such great people but am so thankful they do! They are excellent at communicating and my grandma truly loves everyone there! *The food! I have been so surprised by the variety of foods they offer! At other places my grandma has lived, they served chicken and fish… every day! She used to beg for us to bring her hamburgers! Here, she gets beef, lamb, and pork mixed in with so many other foods! And the sauces and flavors are always so good! They also have special Lunches once a month and on special holidays that include amazing fresh fruit and delicious desserts! *The activities!!! There is NO shortage of great activities!!! I love how they incorporate their activities, too! For example, an activity one day was to make a centerpiece that they then had on the tables for a couple of weeks! How near for the residents to get to see their creation to be proud of and to talk to their friends about! They also take their residents into the community and do their best to get the community, friends and family involved in their events! They think of hilarious activities, such as the slip and slide and dunk tank last week! *The residents. I have no idea how, but wow are these residents friendly and kind! I love spending time there and getting to know the residents! I often wonder if the residents are so friendly and kind because they are so happy because of the amazing staff, great food and awesome activities! My only regret, truly, is not moving my grandma here earlier so she could enjoy all of the wonderful activities, outings and friendships when she was younger and more active.

From the moment my dad moved into the StoryPoint Rockford community I was excited. He thrived in this community. He made so many friends with both residents and staff. The staff are personable and new my dad as more than just another resident. He was more active than me! Daily exercise/fitness opportunities, movie night, men's luncheons, bus trips to multiple areas, entertainment at least 2X per week, talent shows, and so much more. The food was fantastic and it was cool that he had his table with his group of guys. I am thankful for this community as it gave us 6 additional years with my father that I don't think we would have had if he had not moved in to StoryPoint.

I liked StoryPoint Rockford but it was too expensive. My parents liked it and I liked the setting and the vibe. It was very nice. They had live music going on when we were there. It seemed like a nice community feel. The staff was very friendly and had a great presence. They talked to my parents for a while.

We needed a quick placement for my Dad and Storypoint was amazing! The facilities are great he has an independent studio with enhanced care services for meds and mobility assistance. It was exactly what we needed. I cannot rave about the staff enough! Jenni, Dawn, Sam, and the rest of the staff spent a countless amount of time taking us for a tour and assuring us they could do exactly what we needed. They were right, Dad is adjusting well! Thanks again Storypoint!

When I toured the facility I was surprised at how really nice everything was. From the common areas to the spacious rooms, to the lovely dining room, the salon and “happy hour”. There is an upbeat atmosphere and the food was very good. This is a place I could picture going to myself if the occasion ever arises! The staff was also very kind and accommodating!

When I toured this facility I was so very impressed with the cleanliness, the modern design and the care the residents received. I ate there and the food was fantastic….like a nice restaurant. The rooms were spacious and very lovely! I think what was also very impressive was how happy the residents were and the comfortable interaction amongst themselves and with the the caregivers! Lastly is the amount of varied entertainment that is here. There sure isn’t a lack of something to do and the enthusiasm of the employees is duly noted!

After watching my moms life be destroyed by illness, I thought I would never see her smile or enjoy life again. We moved our mom into an assisted living home and experienced some of the worst nightmares that no one should have to go through. We thought life would never improve. But one day we decided to visit Storypoint and see if there was a chance a better place existed. Within minutes we were welcomed by smiles and some of the happiest humans I’ve been lucky enough to meet. It was an obvious choice to move my mom here. Every person that works here, cares. They want quality of life for your loved ones as much as what you do. I have never seen so many happy go lucky seniors all having fun together and enjoying life. My first visit here and they were having live duck races down the hallway. It was the cutest thing I have ever seen. Today I saw my mom smile. I listened as she told me all about the drumming class she took and people she met and most importantly all the staff members that went out of their way. I have witnessed my mom go through complete hell, but these people come to work each day making sure she gets through the day with a smile, well fed and taken care of. You have no idea how grateful I am for you guys. Thank you for taking care of my mom. She is surrounded by the best people and it’s obvious. Please bring your loved ones here and know they will be taken care of!!

My mom moved from independent living to assisted living after she broke her hip last fall. At first everything was confusing and a bit chaotic. We soon found out that they had some Covid cases so that’s why the activities and social engagement we expected were not happening. Once they got over the outbreak, things improved. Mom received physical therapy and occupational therapy and soon was walking with her walker for short distances. After 7 months, she is back to her old self except for getting around as well as she used to. The activities in assisted living are awesome. Mom is participating more than she ever did. This is due to those running these activities as they are very engaging. She does crafts, flower arranging and plays games which she didn’t do before. She loves the exercise classes. Her room is smaller but she has everything she needs and the size is appropriate for her. We would like to see more communication regarding changes in care when they happen as often times we find out after the fact which causes unnecessary stress and confusion for the family.

This is such an amazing facility! My MIL and her companion have lived there for a year now and I have spent quite a bit of time there. The level of care, compassion, safety, cleanliness and friendly staff is amazing. The rooms are the perfect size and can easily be transformed to a comfortable place your loved ones will enjoy. And all the services that you can choose to use are all done with the same friendly, kind and dependable care you can count on. If you are looking for a wonderful place for your loved one. Look no further!!

My father is in StoryPoint Rockford. I took a visit with my dad and that's the place that kind of stuck with him when we talked more seriously about it. He liked what they offered, and he enjoyed the food. It's just a nice facility. It's nicely set up. People seem to be available if you've got a question. It seemed to be clean. He's in a studio apartment, so it's one room with a bathroom. They have different programs and events scheduled. They've got music and some of them play the piano. They have musical guests a couple of times a month who will do a musical setting for the residents. There's bingo. They do some theater or virtual symphony presentations. The staff is friendly and tries to connect with the residents such as my dad. The food we had during the tour was well prepared. Sometimes, he's had some disappointment with the food, but other times he's enjoyed it. Early on, communication for what's available and what the benefits are wasn't as clearly portrayed or shared as I would have liked to see.

The facilities are very well maintained. Never unpleasant smells or messes anywhere. The staff goes out of their way to get to know the residents and make sure their every need is being met. Such a loving & caring group of people. The residents in memory care and outside of memory care all have a feeling of comfort as they are so well taken care of. My mom's room is very bright and cheery. She spends most of her time in common areas where the memory care residents are encouraged to participant in group activities and to socialize with others on the floor. My mom never feels isolated or alone. She has been thriving in this environment and it is wonderful to see. When I moved my Mom to Storypoint she wasn't eating much because she wasn't interested in food and got distracted easily. She weighed 118 pounds and her hair was falling out. She now weighs 144 and eats all of her meals family style with the rest of the residents. Storypoint has made such a difference. The Chef prepares meals that are more bite size and easier for her to eat. Lots of choices are offered to her everyday. I can't say enough good things about Storypoint and how good they take care of my Mom. I highly recommend and don't have any negative comments as I have never had anything but a positive experience.

My mom moved into Story Point quite a few years ago and if I had one word to describe it that word would be CARE! The staff hired are friendly, warm, efficient and top notch. They make it a point to know all residents and their family members too! They look out for the residents and try and anticipate and cover any needs that might arise. At Story Point I am assured my mom is always treated kindly and with respect. Staff seem to give heart and soul to this place and to the residents that live there. Every person is made to feel special! My moms room is pleasant and kept clean by staff whom my mom dearly loves. If any problems arise maintenance is quick to come and fix them. Although not a joiner it is appreciated that there is rosary once a week and mass held at Story Point once a month. For the more active and involved there are a ton of other activities offered. There is often something going on for the community as a whole with staff drawing everyone together and everybody in!

I toured StoryPoint Rockford. The overall experience was really good. They were open and receptive. We didn't actually have an appointment scheduled. It came as a surprise to them that we were there, but they took us on a tour anyway. It's very informative. We didn't sample any food, but the dining setup and everything else was really nice. It was really good. The facilities were all very clean.

My mom moved into StoryPoint Rockford yesterday. The staff members are phenomenal. Everyone is very positive. They're very caring and ready to help in any way, shape, or form they can. The facility is clean, bright, well cared for, and up to date. I particularly liked the dining room because it had a low ceiling versus a pitched ceiling. I have hearing issues myself, and if you're in a pitched room, the sound just travels upward, so it's hard to hear, and I like that. Everything is beautiful. They have plenty of outdoor space for residents to enjoy when the weather is permitting, and that includes inside space as well. They offer daily activities like exercise, games, and bingo. They have onsite PT and OT. They have a salon, a church, and a room with computers. They offer computer help for seniors who are having trouble accessing their computers. My mom had her first meal there last night, and she said it was delicious. All the residents that I met and spoke to were very positive. They all seemed very happy, and that was important to me. It was a positive experience.

I am choosing StoryPoint Rockford for my dad. I was super impressed with the staff and their interaction with the residents. The place was very clean. Even their kitchen has glass, so you can see the chef's work and you can also see how clean it is. They are very transparent. The day we were visiting, they were doing Alzheimer's Walk and everybody was having an awesome time. They have OT, PT, and nurses on staff, and they have regular activities like music and movie nights.

My mom will be moving into StoryPoint Rockford. It's a newer facility. It's only six and a half years old. The residents were all very happy. They have entertainment every Tuesday and Thursday, so there are lots of activities beyond that as well. The food is great. I've seen the menus. I've also talked to residents that have lived there and family members that have a parent there as well. Everybody always talks about how great the food is. The staff is very friendly, helpful, open, and easy to reach. They have really good communication.

We looked at StoryPoint Rockford, and our tour was very good. The girl that toured us seemed very experienced in dealing with the insurance policy that we have to help cover the cost. She was very good. It was a very nice facility, and the room we saw was nice. We looked at a studio room; it was very nice. They change the carpets, repaint, and fix everything up. They have handicap-accessible bathrooms with the unit. They have separate areas where couples live that is separated from where single people are at. Everybody has their own dining room. It looks like a top-notch menu, as far as food. They have a workout room. They have music available for people, and there is quite a bit of stuff to do. They had a little pun, and they have a room you can rent for a special occasion. They have everything.

I visited several places and as soon as I walked into StoryPoint it was clear to stay there. From Kim, Sam, the incredible staff for her medication and visits to just check on her are most wonderful than I can say. The wait staff, the atmosphere while dinning, the people who come everyday to clean, and Betty- for deep cleaning. They always come in a pair which makes her (and us) feel completely safe. They can happily help with any situation going on. My mother having the start of dementia was scary to place her some where with an apartment feel with plenty of room, now I cant not think of ANYWHERE else I would ever consider and will recommend they to everyone!!!

I'm at StoryPoint Rockford and I like it. It's fantastic. I'm in enhanced living, which means they come to my room to give me care. I have my three meals in the dining room, and the meals are great. You get to pick from a menu. They have a lot of activities, so much that you're so busy, that you don't have time even in your room if you went to all of them. My apartment is spotless. They clean it every day. There is a beauty shop, they do fingernails, they do all my laundry, and they do provide transportation. The place is very good and very helpful. Everybody smiles. There's nobody crabby. You call them with your call button and they are cheerful to come into your room, "What can I do to help you?" The staff is very well trained on how to be nice to old people.

My parents moved into StoryPoint Rockford. It's a very high-end community as far as the care and the services. Everyone came and introduced themselves individually over the first week to my parents. They have care services that they can get on a needed basis as things change with my father, which is just simply a quick push-button away if they need anything or if my mother needs any type of backup for that. The restaurant is five-star. I eat there and it's amazing. Every single staff member, resident, and family of residents that I spoke to had nothing but praise for the people, the care, and the organization. The apartments have full kitchens, which was important to my mother so that she can still cook. But they do have access to the dining room and the restaurants any time they want. They have a full schedule of activities that they can do. They've got live music, shows, and movies every single week, which is very good for being able to socialize. They have laundry facilities, but they also offer laundry services and all housekeeping. The food is very, very good, and they have options of where they want to eat. They have a lot of activities, although their movie choices aren't that good, in my personal opinion. But they have a nice variety of activities. They're extremely expensive but you get what you pay for.

There were activities going on when we went to StoryPoint Rockford, and the lady that took us around was wonderful and answered all of our questions. I think she spent about an hour with us or more. She was nice. I've talked to her a few times on the phone, and she's made a couple of follow-up calls. Someone was playing music when I visited and there was a group gathered around listening. Cleanliness and upkeep were great. The shower would've accommodated him. We would've needed a chair for him to sit on in the shower, but he would've been able to get in it.

I visited StoryPoint Rockford, which I was very pleased with. It is also the closest to me here. It was just the atmosphere and the people there that I liked. I toured with the residents that were there and they were very positive. The environment and the atmosphere were just very light. When you're doing a visit, it's going to be that way. They're going to do their best. My cardiologist also has his mother there and he's very pleased with what they do. I kind of use it as a reference too in feeling positive toward StoryPoint. I had an interview with Kim, not so much with the other staff because they were working. It was very good and she's very positive and answered every question I had. She didn't seem to stray away from anything that I wanted to know and I was satisfied. I didn't feel put aside or anything of that nature. The facility was very clean and it was comfortable. I would have no qualms about putting my wife there as far as cleanliness and the layout. During my tour, I went through the assisted living and the dementia unit. There's a private entrance to it. You don't have to go through assisted living to get there but as a visitor for the first time, you do. After that, if you're visiting a person there, you can use the private entrance.

We went to Story Point Rockford. Everyone we saw was nice. We saw some of the patients and they all seemed very happy. They were a little over our budget. The rooms were very nice. The staff was nice, and helpful, and gave us information. They offer everything, they have the meals and the care, and the entertainment, and the activities. They have a courtyard. It was nice, it was homey.

The staff here treats our mom with respect and love. If we have any questions or concerns, they are always willing to help us out or work with our requests. We have treated the staff as our extended family and it shows in the care they have given our mom. They are always working on different ways to engage the residents and are working extra hard during these Covid times. We appreciate everything they have done and the extra miles they go. Prior to Covid they would have entertainment that would come in for concerts and music is the best therapy! They also love the visits from the therapy dogs.

During an exceptionally trying time, the staff went above and beyond to implement policies and protocol to keep their residents safe. In order to keep the residents engaged, they invented fun ways to celebrate holidays and even turned getting a vaccination into a party! Before Covid, StoryPoint provided many on-site activities as well as opportunities to get out into the community. Pre-Covid and during Covid, the staff has always been responsive and ready to partner with adult children to ensure the happiness and well-being of their residents.

StoryPoint Rockford was good, and my overall tour was extremely nice. The only problem was the cost. They were about 220 percent higher than the place we chose per month. It was a very nice facility, but it was $4,300 a month. The other one we looked at was $2,600 and $2,000, but those were with discounts. The staff we met was first-class, and they have the same amenities as the one we chose. It's new and only a couple years old, so it's clean. All their rooms were spacious. They have outdoor patios or outdoor dining.

I did an in-person tour of StoryPoint. It was beautiful, clean, friendly, and expensive. If it wasn't a lot of money, yes my mother would go there. When your money is gone, they say goodbye, and I don't like that. I rejected all of the placed that use up your money and then say goodbye. They didn't give me any food. When I got there the staff said it wasn't supposed to be an in-person, and it was supposed to be a virtual, but they got their communication screwed up. They didn't show me any apartments. It was strictly the front lobby and you can't go in any further because of COVID. I saw the floor plans and they looked very nice and more spacious than some. The staff member thought I needed enhanced living and not assisted living; the assisted living would cost me more. It's a step up from independent living. I think it would be more like phone checks instead of in-person checks to make sure you're taking pills; almost like phone reminders. So it wasn't a real one-on-one assisted living type situation. When you get to that point you would be charged even more. Everything that you require also incurs a cost, but most of them do that as well.

Staff is very friendly and resident focused, meaning they take the time to learn each resident's likes & dislikes and conduct themselves accordingly while abiding by overall guidelines for care. Staff is willing and prepared to provide feedback to family members seeking insight into how things are going...if you desire feedback they will gladly provide and are very willing to offer suggestions to improve things if necessary. Staff is very proactive and will work with family members as required to help assure the residents have the best experience possible during their stay. The resident rooms are adequate or as expected for an assisted living facility; not posh but not overly lacking either. The common area spaces are quite nice and well maintained. Once it is understood that residents are encouraged to spend the majority of their time in the common area spaces interacting with other residents the focus on individual room ammenities becomes a lesser priority. Overall the staff at every level genuinely cares for the health and well being of each of the residents which provides a high level of comfort for the family members. The food is awesome, the brunches are to die for!

My grandfather moved into the independent living section a year ago after losing his wife of 58 years. The friendships he has made are very real and have brought a new energy to his life. Every single staff member truly cares and is so compassionate. The activities they provide are top notch and so creative especially throughout COVID. The apartments are spacious and he has a nice walk out patio where he can hang flowers and watch the birds. They always include family and answer your call. I cannot express what a wonderful move this was for my grandfather!

My parents, who are in their 90s, have resided (with their dog) in an independent living apartment at Storypoint in Rockford for a year and a half. The services provided have met their every need, from maintenance to urgent health care. The entire facility is lovely, and I truly can’t say enough about how nice, caring, and capable the staff is. Especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, while the facility is, by State of Michigan mandate, closed to visitors, the management has made extra efforts to keep the residents safe, entertained and engaged.

StoryPoint Rockford was beautiful, new, and large, but it was rather remote because it was out in the middle of nowhere. Rockford is not a real thriving bustling community. Everything was new and it's a very comfortable place, but it was out of our price range. The staff was very congenial. There was a chef conducting a sampling that they were preparing for that day. The public can come and partake in it along with some of the residents, and the food was good. Everything about it was impressive.

My father was a resident for 3 years, having moved in on opening day of the Independent Living facility. His room was lovely and new with plenty of space for his things. The public spaces were/are gorgeous, beautifully decorated and maintained with lots of options for activities and hobbies. He enjoyed the library for putting together jigsaw puzzles, Happy Hour at the pub, dinner in the beautiful dining room with his new friends and bridge with the "guys." The staff was so personable and caring. His first Christmas at StoryPoint was difficult. He was lonely for my mom and the decorations he adorned his home with each year. The staff surprised him with his own live Christmas tree outside his windows, complete with his favorite colored lights. He was delighted and it was so kind and loving of the staff and residents who helped. He enjoyed outings with other residents on the StoryPoint bus. The director was amazing and showed the folks great times. When Dad had a serious fall, a trip to the ER and needed extra help, the staff arranged for constant nursing care for him going out of the way to make him comfortable. They cared for his little dog, another bonus for living there. He sadly passed away a few months ago but I am grateful that those three years were spent with good people in a safe, welcoming environment. StoryPoint was the answer to my prayers and the many friends he and I both made there made his life good.

StoryPoint's staff is truly caring, compassionate, and willing to assist residents and their family visitors. It's a wonderful community for our mother. We have peace of mind that she is safe and well taken care of.

My grandmother is at StoryPoint Rockford. It's very clean, the staff is friendly, helpful, they've got a lot of accommodations, and a lot of different activities for seniors to do. The staff is very attentive, and they make sure they take care of anything she needs help with. They have regular apartments, assisted living, memory care, and enhanced living. They have a library, a hair salon, different places to eat, and common areas.

My aunt is in StoryPoint. It's brand new last year, so it's very nice. The rooms are very nice, and everything is accessible. People are really friendly and encourage her to eat. They're very good with her. It's a very nice place with a lot of activities available.

StoryPoint was brand new, and it was an excellent place. They had independent care to higher levels of care within the same place. The decors were absolutely incredible, and the entire place was beautiful. My husband and I said it was like a cruise ship on land, but it was not inexpensive. There was nothing to complain about it, but the 2-bedroom units had a very long waiting list. The other pluses about that place was it was right next door to a beautiful brand new Meijer, and there was a brand new health facility being built right next door. They were extremely proactive in supporting the residents to stay involved in the community. The day that we were there, the women's group decided to do a pub crawl through downtown Grand Rapids. These people may be old, but they were still young at heart, and it was a delight to hear that.

StoryPoint was very nice and better than the other place we visited. They were all very friendly; everybody introduced us to everybody including all the workmen that happened to be there. They have a circular area that has a small store, a bistro restaurant, and a pub. Their dining room was set up very nicely. They have a salon and everything; it is very nice there. We looked at a 1-bedroom, and it was very nice. It has a kitchenette and its own bathroom. They have a lot of activities, and they have a shuttle that takes you to whatever church that you want to go to, takes you to concerts, and whatever.

StoryPoint was a little expensive. We had dinner there, and it was lovely. It was definitely gourmet; you can order off a menu, it had good service, and it was excellent food. The rooms were lovely, they had nice angles to the room, it had high ceilings, and everything was new and fresh. There was no problem getting around in a wheelchair. The staff seemed very nice, and they had a beautiful memory care area
