Grays Harbor County, located on the Pacific coast of Washington, is home to 72,797 residents, over 11,000 of whom are seniors aged 65 and older. Some of these seniors might be among the 110,000 Washington residents living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, a number that’s expected to grow to 140,000 by 2025. There are two memory care facilities in the county to support that growing demographic, including one in the county’s largest city, Aberdeen, and another in nearby Mccleary.
In Grays Harbor County and the rest of Washington, memory care facilities are referred to as Assisted Living Facilities and are licensed by the Aging and Long-term Support Administration Department of the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services.
