I visited this facility

This place seems like a sincere senior Care facility. No place that I know of has so many pleasant personalities. The activities keep many of the residents active. They cheer eachother on filling the hall with laughter. The people on the floors are so sweet that I just want to hug them all. I have a great time with the most wonderful people at the front desk who are on top of every need. A truley delightful place.

I visited this facility

I did not see anything disturbing at Christopher Heights of Worcester. The rooms were lovely. The only thing that I did not care for was the fact that it was multi-storied and had separate dining facilities on the second, third, and fourth floors. You live all on one floor, and the whole community did not regularly gather in one dining room. There's nothing that forbade them from going from floor to floor and if you made a friend on another floor, you could eat with them, but I did not care for the idea that there were separate units, so you might never run into the occupants. I liked that I would be able to maintain my vehicle. They had garage facilities under the building connected by an elevator so your vehicle was always covered, and you just took the elevator down to go in and out; it's unusual. The dining area was lovely looking and restaurant-like but did not have a good menu variety.

I am a friend or relative of resident

Christopher Heights of Worcester has exceeded my hopes and expectations in every way. My mother has been there for more than three years. The staff is always very kind and helpful. They really treat each resident with great respect, talking to them like adults not patients. There is no pressure to participate in activities if you don't want to, but there are activities each day, starting with exercise in the morning and always something at 2:00 in the afternoon. Activities are geared toward fairly frail people, and some do have memory issues, so you have to be willing to be around those folks. They occasionally go on outings for shopping or to a restaurant, and residents can choose how much and how little they want to do. The food is good, with some choice if you don't want the main dish, and the food staff will listen to suggestions and do something special or different if needed. If a higher level of care is needed in the future, Christopher House is right next door. Many residents go there when they are ill or need rehab and then return to Christopher Heights. All apartments are private, but there are some that are big enough for a couple. It is truly affordable. There is usually not a long waiting list if you can afford the market rates. There is a subsidy if the person's assets are exhausted--the marketing director is very helpful with explaining all this. Even if you think you can't afford it, ask, because they do take some moderate income folks. Highly recommended.

It's very convenient in Christopher Heights of Webster. The staff are very easy to talk to, they answer whenever I have questions. My mother is happy and upbeat now.

I am a friend or relative of a resident

I am very pleased to be able to write a review for Christopher Heights. A loved one was placed there by her family at the start of this year after needing assistance with daily living. During our visits with her, we have found her to be well-adjusted to her new surroundings. The staff certainly goes out of their way to make sure residents and their families are comfortable with accommodations and are receiving all the services and support necessary. The physical building is well-kept and maintained, the grounds are lovely. But certainly the most impressive features are the "non-tangibles" - that is, the caring provided by the staff. Really cannot say enough about how gracious the employees are in their interactions. Christopher House in Webster sets itself apart from the other assisted living facilities in the area by employing aides, nurses and associates who genuinely enjoy their jobs and take pride and care when dealing with the extended community.

I visited this facility

Christopher Heights is a beautifully kept facility in Worcester. They have many amentities for the seniors such as housekeeping, prepared meals, and laundry service. They also have lots of activities for the seniors to keep them busy and arrange day trips to get them out. The dining area was beautiful and the staff were very pleasant. During our visit lunch was being served and the food looked very good and tasty. There was one employee that was speaking to a resident in a patronizing manor because she was indicating that she didn't want butter on her food however I did not get the feeling that all of the staff was like that as I did not witness anyone else speak to a resident in that way. My grandmother would be living here but it was decided that she needed a facility that provided more care vs assistance and a nursing home better fitted her needs. Cost wise this facility was among the priciest but given the atmosphere it would be well worth it if it is affordable for your family.
