Visiting the Mount Vernon House was very pleasureable experience for me. Every part of the building is in pristine condition. It looks more like a luxury hotel than an assisted living facility. They have a full gym, spa, and recreation area for residents to use. They even have a hairdresser come in on a weekly basis to cut and style anyh resident's hair. It does not resemble any other place of the same genre. All equipment and electronics are brand new, leaving no room for complaint from anyone living there. There is no shortage of activities for residents to participate in and there is also frequent transportation into town for those who are no longer able to drive themselves. The staff is fantastic, serving as a stand in family for those that do not have family close by. My grandmother is a resident there and she adores each and every staff member. They genuinely care for her, making sure that she eats enough and is feeling okay.Residents even have outdoor space that they can use at their discretion. The grounds are beautifully kept. Dinner feels like you are eating out every night, resembling more of a classy restaurant than a cafeteria like some assisted living facilities can resemble. All in all, I do not have a negative word to say about Mount Venon House. Anyone would be happy to live there.
