Wakefield Care is a large brick building that is located in a wooded area that feels safe and quiet. It's about 5 minutes away from Melrose Wakefield Hospital and 10 minutes away from Main St. There is tight security in the building. There is a reception area for check-in. Wakefield rehab has a large unit that caters for patients with Alzheimer's. The unit is not accessible without permission, which ensures the safety of Alzheimer's and dementia patients. Staff members are available 24 hours although there are issues with understaffing. Alzheimer's patients are served meals prepared within the facility. The meals look well balanced. The facility's atmosphere feels much like a hospital. However, some nurses who have worked in the facility for a longtime have close relationships with the residents. Staff members are usually helpful when I visit Wakefield Care. I would recommend this facility to Alzheimer's patients.

My mother in law is at this facility and i appreciate everything that they do for her. They take the time to spend quality time with the patients and reassure them.
