My mother will be moving into Brightview Wakefield. The rooms are very clean, spacious, and bright. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and welcoming. I think it's going to be a nice community atmosphere for my mom.

My 95 mother was a resident in memory care (Wellspring village at Brightview Wakefield)from August-October 2020. Our family moved her there as her previous place closed. On first impression, the facility is gorgeous. However, I cannot recommend it and I will tell you why. Upon viewing my mothers notes and care plan, it was apparent that they did not document adequately. The Care plan was impersonal and generic and it was not signed. Services to my mother were not recorded in daily log chart. They also did not provide the extra services that we paid for. ( additional personal attention and increased incontinence changes) Their was poor communication between the director and nurses and our family about anything,...including extreme weight loss (20 lbs in one month), and a developing bedsore on her behind. The aides lacked in attention and caring. To even locate them was challenge, and they begrudgingly agreed to your request. They spoke their native language most of the time not even acknowledging the resident. There are other Brightview facilities that provide better care and anywhere you look I I encourage you to not only ask about these issues but to go and observe as well

Memory Care floor is awful for residents. Aides are lazy, disrespectful, rude to families. I heard them being rude to residents also. Communication with families doesn't exist unless maybe a monthly picture. Residents spend most time alone in their rooms...not encouraged to join in the minimal, pathetic activities. Food is awful...not like the other floors...mostly tiny portions of frozen fries, mystery meat, and very few canned vegetables. The atmosphere is deadly. Most of these aides aren't well supervised and shouldn't be working with this population!!! Don't be fooled because the whole facility is gorgeous. The care is what counts. Families are disgusted. Prices are outrageous for the care/interaction given. Rest of floors are fabulous, as is rest of aides on other floors. Nurses are fantastic! Do not put your loved one here for Memory Care...cuz they DONT CARE!!!!
