My Mother was a resident of Lasell Village for 13 years. My husband and I spent many hours at the facility during that time and we were always delighted by the facility. The meals were extremely well cooked with a wonderful menu from which to choose. The apartment was lovely, the rooms were spacious and the windows allowed lots of light and nice views. The staff were always courteous and responsive There was always so much to do, Mother particularly loved working on her garden and taking classes at Lasell University. As a published poet, she enjoyed the poetry classes tremendously! The ample storage was a real asset for all of her writings as well as her wardrobe. The swimming pool delighted her as well as the scenic settings for her daily walks. Many family members often visited her there and were impressed as we were by this wonderful alternative living facility. We highly recommend it.

In the time of Covid 19, there are many safety precautions set up. Each patient is the only one in the room. Staff wear safety PPE and change it after taking care of each patient. Staff are friendly and professional. The Activity staff offers newspaper, books, arts and crafts and games. There are virtual programs and classes to watch on television too. Rehab staff is patient and very encouraging. The food is delicious and not your typical institutional fare. Place is clean and well-kept. This is a small hidden gem of a rehab.

The surroundings are nice and it is clean. That's the only thing good about it. The staff is non-responsive. My Dad, 90 years old and legally blind, fell out of bed 3 times (we had told them he needed the bed alarmed for this reason and they ignored us). He had to crawl to his room-mate's side of the room to get him to call the desk. The staff was not responsive when you pressed the call button and they were also very rough when trying to reposition my Dad. Within 3 days of being there, we had to take him to Newton Wellesley ER for head CT scan and due to severe dehydration. Newton Wellesley staff were horrified at his condition. We never brought him back there. He died shortly thereafter due to dehydration which led to brain encephalopathy.

My Husband and I have been residents at Lasell Village for three years and constantly tell anyone how happy we are to have made the decision to make the Village our home. The residents value the intellectual environment that exists through discussions and classes that we take. The Village is a very friendly and casual place to live.

DO NOT GO HERE! I heard that this place was one of the best. It is not. My mother was here and it was ridiculous. The aides and nurses completely ignore you. When you ask for something because you rang the call button an hour ago with no response, they give you an attitude. Sorry Lasell. You are the worst facility. Not impressed with PT either. Everyone has an attitude and quite frankly, for an 81 year old who had a total knee replacement, she was better off at home with PT coming to the home. To make matters worse, no ac on 3rd floor. Would NOT recommend anyone coming here.

I had lunch with a friend who recently moved in here.. Very civilized cafe, with table service and cloth napkins. After a health crisis my friend spent a year in another facility and wasn't happy there. My friend is an activist and Lasell supports independent activity. She's taking a college class at LaSell College, continuing her life-long social justice activities in Boston, and tutors 1:1 in a resident-run program to offer ESL tutoring to service people in the facility.. I saw several mid-seventies ladies striding around outside, between activities..

Just one for lobby is pretty but go no farther. My aunt is in the rehab on 3rd floor. We understand nurse/patient ratio isn't as good as acute care hospital. This place is very concerning. No one answers call light, ever! It's amazing how they will sit there or in back room writing notes and let those lights go. Doctor told her she would get meds 3 times a day. They give them once! And it's a huge pile. She has severe copd, triggered sometimes by panic attacks. She is very scared because no one comes! She is the least picky eater I know, and the food isn't great. We are looking into other places. We heard so much about this place. The staff has not spent 2 minutes in her room to even smile or talk to her! I have never seen anything like this in any facility, so disappointed .

We visited Lasell Village. It was really nice. Everything was beautiful. The lady who took us around was really wonderful. We saw an apartment, the dining room, and common areas, and everything was beautiful.

Lasell Village is very nice but the apartments that were available to us at the time seemed too small. They probably have larger apartments but we didn't pursue it. It seemed like a very good place.

The place was fine. The people and the events were nice. I consider it a place I could move-in in the future
