My uncle was at Baker-Katz. They're very understaffed. I needed to remove him from that situation because it was not ideal for him at all. He was there for rehab. The facility could use some refurbishing. It's a very old building, and I do not blame them for that. They just need to update some things. To be totally honest and not rude or disrespectful to them, they're so understaffed that my uncle did not get the best care there. Because of the staff being so underwhelmed, they were sort of rude to him in some cases. He asked them to be very gentle with them because he had scars on the back of his head from surgery, and they kept hitting them. He was 96, and they were kind of rough with him. When you're 96, your body aches a little bit. They were sort of manhandling him, and then they called him a complainer. They had a really great physical therapist that came in and helped with rehab for patients. She and her other person that was with were fantastic. There was also one woman who dealt with the activities. She was really nice and very understanding too. They have movie night, bingo, and a couple of other activities. The activities for those who were cognizant enough to understand what's going on were fine. My uncle has lived by himself, so he kinda had trouble making friends. Also because of how he felt about the staff, he didn't want to participate in a lot of them. They did have a lot of activities. It's not a rehab hospital. I'd say it's more of a nursing home facility, where they're not very cognizant or care about too much. The facility was kind of rundown. From what I can tell, they were working on painting some areas. My uncle's room wasn't that great, but it wasn't dirty. It just needed to be updated and painted. The overall appearance needed to be redone. It was not bad at all.

I can say that I was very pleased with the treatment and care my mom got @ baker Katz. She was treated as part of a large family. I would recommend this facility to any one . When you walk in it is not the best looking place as a chain nursing home is but the care the staff gave my mom makes up for it in a big way. She was a difficult patient but they gave her great care. Always clean, fussy eater and made every effort to try to make and give her foods that she would eat. Highly recommend this place.
