A loved one was a resident of Chestnut Hill of East Longmeadow. They did a lot of group activities almost every day. They would have the activity person in a room, and they would play games, or they do art or music. They were just much more involved. A lot of the time the food would be cold. I think the breakfasts are better than the dinners. If I was there, they would offer me a meal as well.

Our relative was recently placed at Chestnut Hill for short term rehab. Our experience at this facility was negative. PT and OT was spotty and inconsistent, though was supposed to be scheduled 5X/week. Didn’t happen. Facility was dirty, dingy, and ill-kept. Floors were dirty with trash and debris lying about. Phone system in-operable for the entire time of our patient’s stay. The administration could not seem to get the phone working properly. Majority of time no incoming calls could be received and sometimes the patient couldn’t call out. A working phone is a basic service. No remote for t.v. - if patient is bedridden (as ours was) this is a problem because you can’t turn the t.v. on or off, or the volume up or down, or change a channel without bothering the beleaguered staff. Staff did not document or keep accurate records.
