My family member was at Don Orione from May 2019 to Feb, 2020. It was supposed to be temporary. When I first saw my family member, he was nude (with a sheet over him) and garbage under his bed. I asked where are your cloths, he said it was not sent to the Nursing home. On my second visit, it was July and I bought him a take-out order. As I visited him in his room, I heard the CNA staff laughing outside his room. I thought something must be very funny. When I walked outside his room, I was SHOCKED! The CNAs were laughing at a handicapped woman who was paralyzed and fell off her wheelchair, She lied on the floor, reaching up asking for help. I told the CNAs, get a nurse she has fallen, theylaughed and said, "OH she always falls. then, I ran to the Nursing Station and told the Nurse, the Nurse said, "Oh she always falls. I was shocked at the barabaric treatment the poor sick people receive. When I looked up the COVID testing, no surprise, DOn Orione had no results for COVID. This nursing home is barbaric!!! STAY AWAY. DO NOT send your family member to this horrific place. I got my family member transferred and they are doing much better. it is a dumping ground for people who have no one. "A DIVE Nursing home that has rodents in the rooms and no kind care. IT IS BARbARIC!!!! Stay away. I had nightmares after visting my family member.!!!

Adult Daily care. Dad been attending one year. It’s been a blessing. Looking at it from the view point of what the senior likes and will thrive vs what I prefer. We needed assistance from isolation; meds; nutrition and a friendly hello every day. He has received all of them. They do a easy game daily and some musical guests. He enjoys the simple life now and that is ok. Pleasant staff with some turn over but that’s to be expected. I feel he’s safe. I never had negative issue w staff. He’s stable. Enjoy the moments. A new space in 2019 for adult daily care too.

Don Orione was very outdated, somewhat of a stench field, and old-fashioned, but that was not what I was really looking for. That wasn't on my priority list, and my priority was that the staff cared for each individual person whether it be my mom or someone else's mother. I think what happened with the Don Orione was they wouldn't accept my mom because she couldn't self-administer her medication, and that was an issue with a few of these places that I found out along the road. The staff seemed very nice. I didn't really speak to anybody probably about care, but they did seem nice. I do know three women who work there who live in my neighborhood and they have told me good things about the Don Orione, so I am believing that.

To start out, the facility was in her hometown so she felt almost obligated to attend. She really wanted to live there as opposed to with one of her children. In that regard it was good for her, but in most aspects I did not like the place. The stench of the facility was almost unbearable, and the food was putrid. I realize that these are some things that all nursing homes deal with, but it existed here nonetheless. The amenities and facilities were the bare minimum, nothing for entertainment outside of bingo night and the like. The biggest saving grace was the staff, the staff were all excellent with her until her final days. Overall the place was terrible from an outsiders perspective, but for the people living there I'm sure it was even worse.
