My mother-in-law is in The Arbors at Chicopee assisted living right now for respite care. We're testing things out to see if she can stay at that level or will need more assistance. So far so good; the place is very nice. Her room is adequate for one person. It has a living room area, kitchen area, bedroom, and bath; it's perfectly fine. There's nothing to do right now there because of COVID. All the activities and nice things that they do for the residents are on hold. The overall atmosphere of the place is very good, it's just that COVID has totally changed that. The food could be a little bit better sometimes; it needs a little improvement.

The Arbors at Chicopee was OK. I wasn't impressed with it. They didn't have a lot of staff there and that was a big thing for me. The facility was nice. I don't remember the room specifically. I just remember being in the dining room talking to a lady and it was nice. The staff was OK. They just weren't upfront with me on all the costs and everything that you need to get into the place. It was pretty and all appeared nice.

I toured The Arbors Assisted Living at Chicopee and I thought it was fantastic. It was very clean, the staff you see there were in there checking on the patients and just talking to them in general. I thought that was nice. The person who gave the tour was fantastic, she was like a counselor or social worker. She was very knowledgeable of everything when I explained to her about my parents. She's like, "Oh yeah, we have that care right here." I didn't try the food but they offered me something. They have an exercise room and they were doing that, and some were sitting. They gave me a schedule by the month of the different activities, or what they were going to do because it's never the same. They try to keep things different so people like them better. When we toured around, they let me see an entire apartment. It's a 2-bedroom with a living area and a kitchen. Then they let me walk around and look at the whole apartment. The facility is really beautiful.

My mother has been at the Arbors since 2018 and I can't say enough about the care and attention she has received there. She has gotten so comfortable there that she refers to it as her "Home". And during the COVID 19 pandemic, they have taken the utmost care to see that she and all the other members, including staff, are kept safe. They have had no incidences of COVID 19 to date! That is awesome! No better place. Don't even hesitate to have your loved one become a member. The end result is a great place to call home for your loved ones and such piece of mind for yourself.

I visited this community on more than one occasion. The room are nice, high ceilings that make it feel very spacious. The staff seemed friendly and welcoming. The seniors were eating lunch when I was there and the food looked appetizing. Overall, seemed like a very nice place for seniors to live.

The Arbors Assisted Living at Chicopee is a little more open, and they don't jump to push people into their memory unit unless they're in danger. I like that they're really good at checking on their residents, making sure that they get up; they invite them to go to activities, and they encourage them to be active and participate. The environment is small, comprehensible, and extremely beautiful in terms of the lighting and the windows. One of the things that was so great about them was that the residents were very happy, stimulated, and social. They hire people who really like older people, and you can tell they like their work there. I would highly recommend it. The food is tremendous and has a lot of choices so people can have dinner for lunch and lunch for dinner. What's really unique is they have 2 lunchtimes, 2 breakfast times, and 2 dinnertimes, and the reason is because some residents are on different schedules where they are late risers and early risers. I think that was very thoughtful. It really hits you how happy everyone is to be there, and it's really evident.

I am a Ph.D. psychologist whose mother was considering a move to the Arbors Assisted Living Residence. Unfortunately, the experience has been incredibly unprofessional and in the end devastating for my mother. My mother has been adjusting to having had a stroke about 6 months ago. We had placed her in a facility with a higher level of care since that time to confirm that while she suffers from Aphasia (loss of some of her speech), she is entirely independent and safe to be living in an assisted living community. She had been cleared by both her physician and case worker to move to assisted living who felt that the initial confusion that often accompanies a stroke within the first month of a stroke had cleared and to our relief she was ready to move on in her care. In fact, the previous higher care unit had indicated that she had shown great improvement. Unfortunately the staff at the Arbors made the potential move truly traumatic. After having initially met, evaluated and purportedly "reviewed" the documentation that they had on my mother, they asked for a deposit, gave us a contract and a move in date. When we brought our mother for lunch to help her assimilate prior to the move, the Director actually invited her to stay immediately instead of waiting for the move in date we had agreed upon. After a small bag of my mom's personals arrived an hour later and after having met a number of residents who welcomed her to the community, she was told that the Arbors had changed its mind. She was no longer welcome because they had just read her history of confusion around where "home" was in the immediate time period after her stroke. Needless to say, she was devastated, felt ashamed, and from our standpoint it was handled so unprofessionally that we could not believe a long standing community that says it "takes pride in treating our residents like family" could have done this to her. As we tried to work this through to everyone's satisfaction, the Arbors took a strong stance that they simply would not consider the professional opinions of either the medical or mental health professionals who had worked with my mother for months to confirm her abilities and safety. There was no further avenue of discussion. We have had to deal with the severe disappointment, shame and reticence to consider another assisted living community that my mother has felt ever since. Please be careful with this company and its staff to protect your loved ones.

My mother was miserable in her last facility. It took some time but as of this writing she's quite pleased with her apartment and the staff. At her advanced age it takes some time to adapt. The staff is incredibly attentive and caring. In a very short period of time each and every one of them was calling my mother by her first name. The meals options are varied and my mother who's incredibly picky never seems to not find something she might enjoy eating. She enjoys many of the weekly outings and activities. All in all a very nice facility.

The Arbors was nice. Their apartments were decent and spacious. Seemed the staff were very nice. Yet my husband and I felt as though it looked amd smelt like a nursing home and some of their clients (unfortunately to say) made it ssems this way. Although it was charming their price was on the high side

The Arbors was very nice. Their rooms seemed decent and spacious. They seemed to give good care for their residents. Unfortunately, this facility was not within our price range. Overall, the facility was at least average.
