My dad has moved into Shanti Homes, it's been a beautiful experience so far. Everything is good, he's happy and we're happy. The staff is very attentive to him and his needs. They feed him if they have to, they help him walk, and they make him feel comfortable the way that he should feel. He has his own room, it's a regular bedroom with a dresser, his own TV, and a telephone number that comes with the phone. So he's doing very well. He's had a tuna sandwich, and it's good, they give him sandwiches and cookies for dessert or juice. They do work games, and puzzles, they sit at the dinner table with everyone together and they interact with each other. He gets his bed made every day, he gets his clothes washed, and he gets breakfast, lunch, and dinner with snacks in between. He gets his naps in when he wants to, he needs assistance when walking and he has now improved now since he's been there.

Unless your loved one is TOTALLY in the grips of dementia, don’t believe one word about care in this facility. There are NO activities, no entertainment. They will treat your loved one like a potted plant that they forget to water.

The care givers are great , really great, but there is only one for 6 people. They have a calendar which lists many activities, but there are ZERO activities. The patients are placed in front of a TV all day. They are never taken outside. It's very hard to call my Dad because the one person is usually too busy to answer the phone . Despite the description on website, the food is mostly Campbell's soup and pretty decent sandwiches. Cereal for breakfast, and low quality cookies for treats. I feel so bad for them that I regularly take good cookies and fresh fruit for everyone. That said, the care givers really are extraordinary. If your loved one isn't picky about food , or dimentia is beyond the need of mental stimulation, this is a great place. If there is sneed for good food and entertainment, it's ip to you.

My mom is at Shanti Home. It is very nice and very clean and they keep it clean. Because people recommended them to me, that's why it was one of the places I went to see. Shanti Home is just a home and not a big assisted living community. It offers, however, assisted living, but they do take care of dementia patients there. They cater to my mom's needs. They assist her with taking baths and eating. It seems they are very helpful. Residents who are there have been there for five years, so obviously they like it.

I placed my mom at Shanti homes for about a month and half ago. It is a very small group house with only 6 residents and 2 full time caretakers. As it is small, you'll get a one-on-one overseeing and care. The negative is, it doesn't have activity of any kind. It's quiet and sedate. But I am satisfied with the care she's getting.
