We selected Whitewood Assisted Living for my father-in-law because of its close proximity to where we live and its cost. It's within his price range. The staff members are very nice. The rooms are nice. It's not a big area. It's only a 9- or 10-patient facility and it has private rooms. The grounds are very nice. He's only been there about a couple of weeks. My wife had lunch and dinner there and she said it was very good.

BEST ASSISTED LIVING IN QAC! My dad has been here for over a year and is so happy. Only place we could find with private rooms and baths and caregiver ratio is just 4 to 1, so he gets constant care. Owners are great people that really look after the place. Staff is terrific. Activities like Chair Zumba, Music and Bingo are fun for him. He moved from another assisted living nearby and is so much happier at Whitewood. He has Dementia and they seem to specialize in that. I am so happy that I never have to worry about him there. Also, there are several other men living there so he has company.

My father has been residing at Whitewood for a little over year. Considering he lost his wife of 62 years and has been transplanted from Hartford, CT, where he lived for more than 20 years-- well-- I could not ask for a better situation-- Whitewood is friendly and does not feel like a hospital-- they treat my father like he is family to them-- staff looks after him and tells me about his attitude, health and behavior on a regular basis-- the place is clean-- Andrew and Stacey will take care of your loved ones and all of your concerns matter to them-- for example my father is a NY Met fan and to make things feel like home for him, they helped me get him the direct tv baseball package so he can see all the Met games--- my father is in good hands and I am grateful for that

White Wood is only six minutes from my house. It's a smaller facility with seven residents and six bedrooms. Mom used to be in a bigger facility, but she ran out of money. She's not really happy because there's nothing for her to do. Most of the people there are in wheelchairs, their heads slumped, and they sit all day. But my mom is still able to walk and do things. She said she wants to go back to the nursing home. But I can't do that, so I try to figure out a way to entertainment her and get her out as often as I can. She's not really doing good right now. She hasn't had a shower for 10 days. I'm not satisfied with this facility. I don't think they know how to handle a person who's alive. They should also find some time with the residents doing crafts, playing cards or something.
