I visited this facility

I went to look at Churchill Senior Living. I looked at a two-bed, two-bath apartment. The staff was very pleasant, helpful, and informative. The apartment was spacious and nicely done. They showed me one that was almost like it was in the basement, but it wasn't. It couldn't have the sunshine. I like the one that's looking out at the courtyard, but that unit wasn't available. One lady told me that they had some kind of big bash a few days earlier, and I think they are very busy. They have a beautiful courtyard and spaces for you to sit down outside in the courtyard. They had a nice kitchen area and dining area. Even the people that live there that you run into are very nice and welcoming.

I visited this facility

Churchill Senior Living is nice. They have cameras that are watching you there and everything. You can't get in and out unless they buzz you in. I want to move in there when they get an apartment available. They said they should have one coming up any time. I'm on their waitlist. They have a nice place there. They have a pool table for the people. They have movies. They got all kinds of stuff here. They have a bus that takes you to the shopping center. The staff was nice. I haven't tried the food yet, but it's a nice menu and a nice dining area, too. They have all kinds of areas, and you can sit and read books and all kinds of stuff. The staff were nice to me when I was there.

I visited this facility

I toured Churchill Senior Living. It was very inviting and had a very homey feel to it. The amenities that they offered sort of were respective to the facility. The apartments were comfortable and a nice size. They only offered one and two bedrooms. It had very established residents who've been there a long time, and that spoke well for the place. They've been living there a long time as opposed to the frequent turnover. They have conference rooms, media rooms, and entertainment areas for concerts and for getting together. They have a shuttle service that will take you to surrounding areas in town. They get Meals on Wheels or one of those meals delivered where they'll pick it up and bring it to your apartment. One of the biggest cons is things are sort of spread out. Most of the residents are in wheelchairs, walkers, and stuff, so I thought the place may have been kind of large and spread out for people with mobility problems. It's very noticeable. To get from the parking lot to your apartment, even though it looks very nice, a very attractive place, there's just a lot of walking. That's one thing to consider. I really liked it in the beginning. I'm in a wheelchair and a handicap unit, but if I don't have my assistant with me, I'm stuck. The staff members were very nice and were very much on top of what they had to do. My issue was they were always so busy that I don't feel they give the right amount of attention to who they're dealing with. They are understaffed. There's a line standing at the desk waiting to see somebody, but there's nobody back there because they are running around with the walkie talkie. So, it needs an extra person that just stays stationary at the desks. The girls are doing the best they can, and they're working hard and accomplish what it is they set out to do. I talked to the manager and there's no intention on hiring anybody. They work hard to do a lot. In some respects, it's not their fault. The place is very clean, very big, and very attractive. They keep the grounds nice. The building is nice, too.

I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

My mom is at Churchill Senior Living in Germantown. It's been great, they are very helpful. What I like the most is the assistance they gave me. The managers and administrators were great. The place is pretty clean and the upkeep is very well done. There's a lot of flowers and stuff. It is very good. I haven't eaten there but she doesn't complain about their food. Her room is roomy, nice, clean, and comfortable. We chose it because it was closer to me so I could get there easily. They were also the only ones that had anything available for my mom.

Horrible management. He asks residents to spy on their neighbors. He despises old people and charges $25 to replace a paper laundry card if you should drop yours - the one you dropped with your money on is now his. People generally put up with his never ending abuse for 2 years max. If he thinks your car is too old he will tow it away.

I am/was a resident of this facility

I really like it here at Churchill Senior Living. It's very quiet, I'm on the bottom floor, and I have a patio, and that's how I usually go in and out, and it's very quiet and peaceful here. I have nice walking path, and a lake that you can walk around. I have a car so I can drive and get around, but shopping is close. They have a bus here for people that don't have a car, and that takes them to different stores and appointments and stuff. They don't provide food here. They really take good care of the place, the grass, and the maintenance, so it's very well kept here. The room upstairs, it's a very big room, and it has a big TV. Since COVID has happened, they don't really have get togethers now, and I don't really go up there, 'cause I usually go in and out my patio, but since COVID they're not really doing a lot of things. They do have a beauty shop, and they have opened that back up. I think there are doctors that come here, and sometimes a podiatrist. I am not sure if they fully got back to doing all of that yet because of COVID. They do have activities, they have some people that get together and do jewelry, and they do have some quilting things. I don't know if they've gotten back to doing that yet because of COVID, and they used to have a lot of get togethers with dinners, and they would have people come in and cater things. Sometimes they would do breakfast, they would have a caterer there for breakfast, and we would have to pay for a fee to go towards that. They have bible study sometimes, they do quite a lot of things (I think in the great room they call it) for the residents to participate in. I think the value for money is fair compared to some other places that I've seen. It's sort of according to what you make, what you pay, and I think it's more affordable than a lot of other places, and the apartments are nice.

I visited this facility

I toured Churchill Senior Living. It was a nice place, it was excellent, and clean. The staff was very nice and professional. The rooms were apartment type, but also had little campus rooms downstairs where they could get together, and they have a bunch of places. It was very nice. They had transportation that takes them around to do things, like to the stores, and to doctors' appointments, and that I did like, because a lot of times some people can't drive. That was definitely a benefit, and it would have been an excellent place. You can walk in that way to just the site, so if it's cold you don't have to go outside to get to the places, and that's another thing I liked. If I was looking for someplace, that's probably this place.
