My father-in-law is currently in Amanda's Place, Inc. It's a community of about 6 residents. It's a single-family home in a rural setting across the field from an open farm that was scenic. It's an older home but it's well taken care of. They just recently painted the entire inside of the house. The food is OK. It's certainly enough for everybody and they're being checked every day, whether for their blood pressure, their weight, or in his case, his diabetes. They also manage his food, so he's not given sugars. The staff is very reliable. When we call ahead to take him out, they always make sure that he's got whatever medicines he needs for the stay. The owner of the property is also great. She reaches out to us and talks to us, probably every other week or so to let us know how things are going up there. They have both private and shared rooms. There's bus access to the senior center, which is less than five miles away, that provides several programs for the seniors to get them socially involved. For the services they've provided and the facility itself, the pricing is probably about right, but compared to other facilities, it would certainly be cheaper.
