My uncle and aunt were at Five Star Premier Residences of Chevy Chase. My keen sense was that my uncle really enjoyed it. They did a great job. I know the social workers were really helpful. It was actually a very good place. The cleanliness was very good. It's a big apartment building that is well kept up, very elegant, and very nice. I didn't see the dining facilities, but my uncle liked them a lot. They were very happy there. The caring services were excellent. They are really good. The staff was really helpful and wonderful.

I liked Five Star Premier Residences of Chevy Chase a lot and if they're still in business in a couple of years, I think that's where I would end up. The lady who gave the tour was lovely. They had everything anybody could ever want and they all seemed in good shape. Everything seemed lovely. I saw the gym, the swimming pool, and the exercise facilities. I saw the rooms where they had functions, the card room, and the library. I pretty much saw everything.

We saw Five Star Premier Residences of Chevy Chase. We loved everything. It was an amazing location. It's an amazing facility. It almost seemed like a resort and my mother-in-law fell in love with it. The problem was the price was extremely high. We understand completely why the price would be around that because it was state-of-the-art, first-class. It offered everything. She loved everything about it. It's just that when looking at the price for a two-bedroom unit with a kitchen and everything in it, it was going to be a little more than what she was wanting to pay. They had movies, bingo, and a music session in the afternoon that my mother-in-law loved. They had even mentioned that some of the residents get a chance to bake and bring their own nice meals and little cuisines down and get to share them with the residents there and she loved that because she's catered in the past. That impressed her. They have restaurants and they give you a stipend for your meals monthly. Cindy was our guide and she was amazing. She made it feel like we were home and that we were already residents. It's right on a golf course. When you walk in, it's just open and beautiful. It's got scenery. It's well-kept. Some of the furniture was kept in wonderful condition, but an older style that my mother-in-law liked. They were traditional and nice. These were pieces of furniture that brought back great memories. They had a wall that recognized the veterans and her husband is a veteran. We took time to stop and read some of the stories and see some of the pictures and that made her feel that they took time to know who their residents were and honor them. Cindy came out with three cheesecakes that the chef made, and she had them there just as a gift and a token of their appreciation for us coming to visit. That just made it all worthwhile coming out there and it really gave us the first-class feeling that they took care of us. She offered, "Please come dine with us." Unfortunately, we had another place to visit. We would have wanted to stay and enjoy. She walked us around the cafeteria and walked us around the main areas where they dine. The cheesecake was amazing. My husband is a cheesecake person and my mother-in-law, so we all enjoyed it.

I went to the Five Star Premier Residences of Chevy Chase. I liked the way they introduced you to the place. I was met at lunch by two of the residents, one was 75 and one was 86, they talked about how they liked the place. The food that one time was very good, and they did have a menu to choose from, it wasn't just brought to me. I saw the rooms, the place was small versus something I can afford, but overall the ambiance of the place was very nice, and the people were very nice, friendly, and that's a good impression on me. It's not new, but the updated rooms I saw were fine.

My mother has been a resident for three years. I do not recommend. Management is not responsive to resident needs. Constant staff turn over. Servers are rude, front desk staff are not trained, management ignores the basics, meals are terrible. Very expensive with little value. Promises are made with no follow-up. Activities are not creative or mentally stimulating. It's the same old stuff repeated over & over. Boredom & subsequent depression are a real issues with residents, yet Five Star refuses to address. Don't be fooled by the claim that residents are treated like family, They're not.

I visited Five Star Premier Residences. I had a phone call from the chef who prepares the dining room food inviting me to come over anytime and talk to him about my nutritional needs, my special diet, and I thought that was very good. The people were very nice, and the apartments were beautiful, expensive, clear, and well-maintained. It's close enough to my medical providers, so that would be fine. I had one meal there. The food that they offer does not meet my needs, but they indicated their willingness to meet my needs.

My impression with Five Star was very nice. They offer two meals, we had lunch there, and it was a very lovely tour. We liked all the amenities. They have 2-bedrooms with a living room and 2 bathrooms, some of them have a balcony and some do not. All the people we met were nice, and everything was good.

My first impression of Five Star in Chevy Chase is very good. There is a huge lobby, a dining facility right next to it, and there's a couple of game rooms. The place is decorated very nicely. The person who assisted me was very good. The dining area looked like a nice restaurant. The food was very good. They have a library, they have religious services, and they have a bus that goes to the mall.

I am writting this review to forwarn families do not bring your parents to this place its horrible! Nothing works, especially the elevators. These elderly. people are paying alot of money to get nothing in return. The staff some are ok but the rest mainly ignore the elderly . The servers are the worst at dinner they have attitudes with the residents. I Highly recommend that corporate should come in and clean house thoroughly! This place looks good on the outside trying to bait potential new comers into thinking this is high class . This place is a 0 in my book , for the amount of money you spend here move to leisure world. Again I highly recommend corporate come in and observe your employees especially dinner servers and the guys who work the concierge desk.

My mother is in Five Star Premier Residences of Chevy Chase. It’s absolutely the nicest retirement community I’ve ever seen. They cater to everyone’s needs. It is very nice. People are very friendly. I enjoyed it quite a bit. My mom has been there since June. The room is gorgeous. It overlooks the golf course, and the country club. They’re all very invested in the community. They have quality programs with a lot of guest speakers. The residents themselves are extraordinary people. They’re all well-educated.

Five Star Premier Residences of Chevy Chase was pleasant, but I was not impressed by it. The woman who took us around was very pleasant. It had an urban atmosphere. It was a big, tall building. They had a pool and a recreation room.

I moved into Five Star Premier Residences. I chose it because of the activities, and the facility is very attractive. There are lectures and movies. The apartment is beautiful. It has a Southern exposure, and it is very bright. It is in a good size for one person. It has two bedrooms, and I am very pleased with it. It is a very active community. The food is very good. The staff is very attentive.

I had a nice experience at Five Star Premier, but it had its drawbacks because it was in an area of a lot of traffic, and I did not want to be there. The staff was very helpful.

Five Star Premier Residences was very beautiful. The ambience was very nice. It was like a hotel, very high-class and high-end establishment. It was absolutely lovely. The apartments were very nice. They had small kitchenettes, not for cooking though, i.e., refrigerator and microwave. The bedroom was big enough for a double bed. There was also a nice little living room and bathroom. Five Star Premier Residences' dining area looked beautiful. It was all set with tablecloths and flowers on the table. The dining room looked like an elegant hotel. I only saw one staff, but everybody seemed very friendly. They seemed to have lots of activities. It looked very nice. Overall, the facility was absolutely beautiful, and it looked like they had a nice program, but it was very, very expensive.

Five Star Premier Residences have what they consider independent living, and in my mind, it is independent living with supportive care. Being there, you could receive two full meals a day, and there is a nurse onsite who you can access. The director is a social worker. To me, it is what I call the least restricted environment for someone who needs to have support. They also have one floor for assisted living, and it is an outstanding assisted living floor. Their apartments were comparable to their apartments in independent living. The difference is their program director who is a certified nurse. They also have aides. The staff would get to know every resident by name. So it has the kind of support I need that my doctors are recommending, so that I could have the highest quality of life. They have a heated pool there. They have cultural events and concerts. They have a bus that takes you out regularly for shopping trips and for cultural events. They also have an art program where an artist who is able to paint in the Smithsonian is there to oversee. Food is all freshly prepared, and they have options, so it was like going to a restaurant. They do provide vegetarian and gluten-free offerings. Everyday in the afternoon, they have coffee hour with a little snack, and they have a pastry chef on site. Overall, they have a lot of nice things for an aging population who doesn't want to do buy-in and who needs a little more support than being totally independent but not as much as assisted. Five Star Premier Residences of Chevy Chase hits the mark.

Mom has only been at Five Star Residences of Chevy Chase for a week and a half. The whole process of getting her in there was handled so beautifully and so well. People who work there have been there forever and they know how to make everything run smoothly. My contact has been there for 17 years and that I could go back and forth on email and ask for anything. They have a welcoming committee for my mom to have company, people to eat with her, and people to do things with her. It has been a great experience so far. They were a God-send. The people at the front desk and the people there that help you are just overwhelmingly kind. She has an apartment and has one bedroom, a living room, and a small kitchen. The dining room is very beautiful. The settings are gorgeous. I had actually a couple of meals there and they were quite good. The only thing my mother said and I don’t know if this is true because she has a little bit of dementia, she said they seemed to serve the same food for like one week. The activities are unbelievable. They’ve got everything from exercise, pool, classes, and movies. They have different kinds of speakers come in to talk to people; they just got everything.

Five Star Premier Residences was very nice. It seemed they have a variety of in-house programs and I liked that. The food and the staff was very nice. I was impressed when we took the tour that there were so many of them that had been there for a long time. There wasn't a lot of turnover and that was impressive also. The facility was in a great location. The individual rooms that we looked were typical, nothing unusual but they were very good. They have activities like bingo and movies. They also have specific interest groups like German club where they speak German, French club, etc. They have an area for people who play poker and other card games. They have people that would come in and do lectures. And of course, they have religious services there too. I didn't see anything for improvement really.

I was at Five Star Premier Residence and they are very nice. They had nice lectures and wonderful activities. The problem is that they area inhabited by older people and I'm tired of living with older people; they are mean. With regards to the staff, I didn’t like that they would come in to my room at night to give me my pill. I feel it's a transgression of my living space. These sort of things is something you can't find out by visiting the place by just being in the lobby or dining room as such. You have to be in the facility to know what it's like.

The rooms at Five Star Premier Residences of Chevy Chase are very spacious and the services that they offer are what we needed. It's very clean and tastefully decorated. Everything is under one roof and they have about 300 activities to offer.

Five Star Premier Residences of Chevy Chase is a topnotch facility and it's not unreasonably priced. The apartments were nice, spacious, and clean. The public areas including the kitchen were clean. Housekeeping is done once a week. There is a washer and dryer in the apartment so seniors don't have to lug their laundry down the hall. The staff were fabulous and very courteous. The chef came out to talk to us and gave us his personal card saying if we need something, we can call him directly. The administrative staff were all very open and friendly. The residents there also looked very engaged with their activities as well as with other people. One huge plus about this facility is that they have a motion detector wherein when they can't detect any movement in the room, they would have somebody check the room if the resident is okay.

It was very nice, although, my mom and dad thought it was a little formal for them. The staff was very good. We even had a chance to talk to the person who ran it and we listen to her marketing. However, they were a little bit expensive.

It was a very nice place and seemed to be pretty well located and I thought I would be very comfortable there. I was impressed with the facility. However, I was not sure if I could afford the fee for the regular apartment, which costs $4,000 a month. But it was a prime facility in my mind.

The mood and spirit of the place. Location was important since I wanted to be near daughter. Being back in D.C. Area in a great place to end my days with interesting, educated people to spend my time with. Great programs to choose from.

Unfortunately, the quality has declined to 3 stars since Five Star took the property over. While the apartments are spacious, the budget for things such as the often mediocre food has either declined or at least not kept up with increasing costs. Perhaps it's due to the large number of vacancies.

My mother has been at the Five Star for many years, initially in independent living and for the past 3 years on the Assisted Living floor. She is very well taken care of by an attentive and cheerful staff. As compared to a lot of other facilities, even the assisted living residents have apartments, with a kitchen, separate bedroom, living room, etc. This gives them the space to decorate the apartment with items and furniture that are familiar to them and provide comfort. My mother, who is 95 1/2 receives help showering and dressing, has all her meds given to her on time, and is checked in on regularly. The dining room is on the same floor and has the same menu as the rest of the facility. My mother enjoys the menu options and the food is plentiful. I feel very confident in the fact that she is well taken care of and that the staff are in touch with any concerns they might have. The building used to be a Hyatt property and so the decor and furnishings are attractive.

After visiting this assisted living facility, my entire family decided that it would be the most appropriate and best fit for my grandmother. Although we all liked it equally, it was ultimately my grandmother who came to this conclusion. The facility has an extremely warm atmosphere - as soon as one walks in the building, you are greeted by friendly staff and provided with a beverage. The grounds are beautiful and extremely well-kept. The most attractive aspect of this assisted living facility is its ability to look and feel like any other apartment/living facility. The fact that it offers assisted living options is not readily noticeable and therefore provides residents with an autonomous feeling - which is extremely important for my grandmother who has lived on her own for years. The amenities are great - especially given the location. In the heart of lively Chevy Chase, this community offers more than what is located within the walls of the complex. Inside, there is a library, health center and one of my grandmother's favorite aspects - a pool. Overall, Five Star Premier Residences of Chevy Chase is an excellent option for an assisted living facility.

It was very nice. Mom liked it. It was the most independent of all facilities we visited. It is very nicely done, there's parking, and they have a full kitchen, a washer and dryer in the apartments, which is something mom really wanted. They allow pets. They did have some assisted living on one floor, but it's like 14 stories high and all the rest of it was independent.

This is a first rate upscale facility with independent assisted living. Good staff and very attractive physical plant. The only downside is the actual location. Part of the building overlooks a country club and golf course which is nice the other side is on a very busy suburban road. There are services in the neighborhood e.g. grocery store and dry cleaners near by but largely across the busy and inhospitable road.
