Senior's Place was the best that I have found that we could afford. They were so caring and there were so many activities that people went to every day if they wanted to. There's someone there available 24/7. They're interested in the residents. They interact with them and my friend's help has worked there for over 15 years. It's not a plush house. The rooms are OK. They're functional, plain, and very clean. They have two bedrooms upstairs, and then there were two bedrooms downstairs in the basement. The food was good. They had a six-week menu that they rotate and it's wonderful. It is a big variety. They are well versed in diabetics. There are two residents that were already there for diabetics and now my friend is the third. She is type two and she hasn't become type two since they've been with them because she's gotten their sugar and so forth under control and she's lost 80 pounds. They have coloring and exercise every morning. Then if they want to, they go to the community center where they have all different kinds of activities like bingo, painting, and all kinds of things. On Thursday through Saturday, they go to Columbia, to their community center, and then some of them like to ride bikes through the paths there. They also have picnics and different things that they like to do. They also have students from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, UMBC who will come once or twice a week and do activities with the residents. They are happy and they keep them going. There are lots available and they make sure they take them to the movies and all kinds of things. They're very conscientious and they would supply everything for her.
