Masonic Home of Shelbyville is a wonderful place. Searched for a good place to put my aunt at and when I walked in the first time I knew this was the place. Administrative staff was exceptional to work with. They helped me with everything that was needed. Nursing staff is great to my aunt and always caring. I know they take great care of her. A big THANK YOU to all!

Masonic Home Shelbyville is older than my parents' current community. Their apartments were also a little bit smaller. The staff members who assisted me during my visit were very professional, very nice, and very informative.

Masonic Home of Shelbyville treated mom well, but the food was horrible. She was only in there for therapy, and it was OK. Of the places that she had been over the years, it was one of the better ones, but it really wasn't that great. She would always complain about the food. They're short staffed, but they did the best they could with what they had to work with. They had church services, people who come in and play, they have an activity room, and they have places for them to go and do things.

My mom is currently staying in Masonic Homes of Kentucky. This community is also close to where I live. My mom had her uncle here years ago. She has a lot of respect for the place and how it is run. Another good thing about this facility is that it is not private, so I know when she would run out of money that they would accept Medicaid. This community has all levels of care. We got her in a room with her own private bath. It was a lot smaller than where she was before but that did not matter because she didn't stay in her room as much. She was only there in this private room for about two months. She was in their personal care nursing service at that time but when she needed some more hands-on care even more than personal care, we put her in their long-term care. The staff in this community is great. She is happier now in Masonic. They got a lot of things going on there. They have arts and crafts. They have prom nights and talent shows. She is in a singing group and she is actually in a small group of people with dementia. They get together several times in a week. They're very active.

The place was real clean and neat. The staff was polite and answered all the questions we had asked. There was a lot of activities for the people staying there and very well organized. The security was good too. They took very good care of my great grandmother and treated her like a person. They were also patient with her and that was a big deal for us because she had demintia (spelling?)I think they are they best place in shelbyville and I would definately recommend them to anyone
