My friend moved into Life Care Center of Wichita. It has been about 6 weeks and I like it. The staff seemed to be very friendly, and doing their jobs. It's clean, and I know they're short staffed and busy. I had Thanksgiving dinner with them and it was good.

All I can say is NO please don't send anyone here I've yet to get a complete meal, each one has been missing more than one item. Most of the time even if requested they aren't delivered. Day 2: AGAIN called a liar when I questioned my medication. Was told I was given medication this AM that I never received. Then was told I refused medication that was never given. I told the nurse to stop talking down to me because I know what did and did not happen. Pure attitude, had to have a shouting match at 10:45 pm in the hallway and her walking away bad mouthing me. I asked for a supervisor and was told she was one. No one was called. I had to go to the desk and the two employees there, actually looked up my medication. NONE WERE REFUSED. I have two I can't take together and told them LAST night that I would just take one of them. Needless to say patient advocate at the VA and here will be contacted and a formal complaint will be made. DO NOT BRING ANYONE HERE.

This center could be great if the staff were more caring towards the residents. I noticed that the residents do not get oral care before breakfast. This is saying mouth care is not important.

I saw nothing at Life Care Center that would adore me, but people from my church say they were well cared for and they were happy. It’s was very much better than I had really expected because Life Care doesn’t have the best reputation in some places. I was surprised as it was clean and well-cared for as far as I could see. Everybody was always well-dressed, clean, and alert. They have bingo and church, and they also had a tiny little garden. The activity people seemed to be engaged and producing things for them to do. At one point, they had a painting class, and people would hand paint.

When my husband was in the hospital, for some reason, he stopped walking. So he was sent to Life Care Center for rehabilitation. The people there are all great. The food is okay, he liked it. Their activities include bingo, movies, and they have people come into the facility to play the piano and guitar. They're all very caring people.

Located in notheast Wichita, just north of Kellogg, this is a busy and well maintained nursing and rehab center. The campus is large and nestled near the Girls Scout and police department offices. A good portion of it is dedicated to rehab therapy. Therapists are skilled and serious about getting you back on your feet and back home. Food is good and served in a communal dining room or patient room, if necessary. Therapy pet on campus helps to give feeling of home and offers love freely. There is a busy activity schedule and family and volunteers are highly visible on campus. A secured Dementia unit is available. Good social service department.
