My parents are staying at Azria Health Wichita. It's a nice facility. It's new and modern. They've been a little understaffed sometimes, but the staff members are great. Their room is like any other hospital room or doctor's office room. My dad doesn't like most of the food. The dining area is nice. It's like a little cafeteria. Upstairs they have card games, a poker table, a movie theater, and lots of different activities going on. They have calendars in each room to see what's going on. They are very highly-priced.

Absolutely worst rehabilitation facility to put a loved one. They are short staffed, slow to follow the 72 hours rule to evaluate a resident for PT. Nurses are rude, inconsiderate with care, and give you a terrible attitude. Needless to say, our stay was less than stellar and we would not recommend this facility to anyone.

Azria Health Wichita was newer, but when I got there Saturday morning, they didn't know I was coming. The business manager gave me a limited tour, didn't have brochures or any information other than what she could tell me and write down on a piece of paper. So right away, it wasn't as receptive to us because they didn't even know I was coming even though I reached out, talked, and left a voicemail a couple of times. Cleanliness was good. The room that I looked at was very small and the appliance in the kitchen was very small. I didn't smell anything unusual. The business manager was great. She just didn't know the things that she should have known as she was filling in for the admissions director, and she didn't know where the supplies were for the pamphlets. She shared with me what she could and she was very nice, and so was the receptionist.
Not a happy camper

As a hopefully short term resident, I can say the food can be delicious; the staff can be efficient, caring, knowledgeable; therapy is in my case a joke; getting my medicine at the proper times, in the proper doses, is a fight. One morning my breakfast came straight from the freezer. Didn’t eat breakfast. At times I wondered if I was being punished for some infraction. Some medicine I was getting haphazardly if at all. A constant battle. No one on staff was listening to me. Some just heatedly put my medicine on the table and walked way. Policies and procedures very inconsistent. No where are meal times posted, not even in the rooms. I wasn’t given any information when to expect bath times until an aide came to my room one night and asked if I’d like to take a shower. There was no list of non therapy activities provided. My room was pleasant. I loved watching the cars drive by.

We are on the waiting list for Azria Health Wichita. I think they're going to be a good fit for my mom. I would say their dining facility is top notch. The facility has lots of amenities and lots of activities. I haven't tried their food, but I saw several people eating and it looked fantastic. It was very nice. The staff who toured me around was extraordinary. For activities, they were getting ready for viewing college football games. They had a theater. They were playing bingo. They had a room where you can play pool or cards or do any kind of activity you want to do. They had libraries for just reading. They really go above and beyond to make people feel at home.

Azria Health Wichita was very convenient. It was just right down the street. We toured some studio apartments and they were really, really nice, and very spacious. It would be perfect for my mom, but they just didn't really have one available for her. Then downstairs, they had their long-term care and we toured that as well, and it was very nice. Their dining room is also their game room, and they actually had a theater room with very nice recliners and a large wide screen TV. They had people in there playing games and visiting their relatives. They even had a pub downstairs for happy hour, so you could take your family member down there and have drinks and stuff and visit. It had TVs down in there also. They had a courtyard so everybody could go down there. It's a locked facility in which everybody had to have a card to get in and out, except for the very front. They had a concierge that is right there out front when you sign in and out. It was a newer facility. It's very clean and very kept up.

I toured Azria Health Wichita, and it's absolutely beautiful. It's just gorgeous. I never got to see one of the rooms but the staff showed me where the physical therapy is. They have a salon, and a little lounge so the residents could go down there and have a glass of wine, which I thought was neat. The physical therapy was outstanding. It was just lovely. The lady who assisted me was very nice. She was very informative and took down all my information. She did call about three weeks later and said that she had a studio that would be coming up. The grounds were beautifully manicured, and absolutely lovely. The way they have it set up, it's far enough back from K-96, which is a very busy, noisy thoroughfare from east to west. The grounds had trees, benches, conversation areas, and wide sidewalks. Everything was maintained. I was just blown away at how pretty it was. It was gorgeous. The greeting lobby was gorgeous.

Azria Health Wichita was very nice. It looked very comfortable and they looked like they were paying attention to their people. They were really friendly and very educational. They have a gym, a salon, a movie theater, a bar, and a game place. It's like being part of luxury apartments.

My mom ended up going to Azria Health Wichita. She's been there for a month now for long-term care. It was shaky at first, but it's getting better and just getting our expectations met. The staff is understanding that we are very involved, so that's starting to get better. The director of nursing is a very, very good person. She is very informative, and she's available with any issues 24 hours a day. She's made a big difference and made us feel very comfortable knowing that if we have any issues, we can call her directly because I have her direct number. So overall, I'd say it's been good. My mom's room is nice. It's what you would expect in a nursing home. It's clean, open, bright, and cheery. She's got a nice view of the courtyard. The food is average, but they have a really nice dining area. It's clean and easily accessible. The day staff is really, really good. There's a couple of the staff on the day and the night shift that we've kind of gotten to know, and we kind of like. The rest of the staff, however, sometimes I wonder what they're even doing in the positions they are in. For me and my family, because we're so involved in her care and we're there all the time, we've put them on notice and said, "Look, this is what we expect. When we come in here, this should be done". I don't feel like we should have to tell them that because that should be common sense. There have been times where we've had to say, "Hey, look. This is what you need to do. This is what's going on." This is where we got involved with the director of nursing for the facility because we complained to her and said, "Look, we're not comfortable" and that's when she said, "Here's my number. I will take care of it. You call me if you have any problems". That's what made us comfortable. Some of the staff that we've gotten to know and have interacted really well with mom though. The food is average. We were told there would be chef-style food, but some of that food is not very appetizing. The facility is clean and nice. The only reason I don't give them a five is that we've had a couple of snowstorms and the snow removal in the parking lot was lacking. I feel like being in a facility like that, especially with assisted living type people that still have the ability to come and go, should have done a better job at snow removal.

What I like best about Azria Health Wichita is that the place is very clean. It's beautiful, the residents there are well-mannered and I liked all that. But I think what I liked best was that they had a policy where they make everybody wear an N95 mask when they come in. That just points out to me that they're serious about health and safety so I appreciated that.
