My dad is a resident of Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Hospital. It's bright and cheery. The staff is very responsive, very caring, and compassionate. The overall level of care, from the physician, the occupational, and the physical therapists have been wonderful. I have tried the food, and it was delicious. I can't comment on value for money; it's something that Medicare is paying for.

Dirty comes to mind as I would walk a cross a floor and you could hear my shoes "stick" to the floor. Rooms were rarely cleaned and I use the word "clean" loosely. Most of the staff were pleasant, but many would "avoid" visitors. I do not believe my relative was ever involved in any activities outside his occasional therapy sessions. No amenities to my knowledge. Communication was good for the 1st few days, then it was like radio silence. The case manager presented as someone who cared and wanted the best for our loved one, but her actions indicated she did care. Getting our loved one moved from this facility took much longer than necessary due to the case manager dragging her feet through the process. 2 weeks at a different rehab and our loved one improved in less than 2 weeks. My advice, visit any care facility before you trust them with your loved one.

Family member was moved to a different room several times it was dirtt when moved in trash under bed piled up I have pictures. Paperwork needed done for 3 months and still the paperwork wasnt done on release day. Nothing was ready and it wasnt a surprise we were coming to pick the relative up. No communication. Went through several case managers who did not do their job. Horrible horrible place would never take another relative there again. Showed up after a 5 hour drive and wasnt allowed to use the restrooms there. Ridiculous staff and not professional at all!!! I could go on and on

I loved my stay at meadowbrook. I suffered a stroke. Every single staff member I encountered here were awesome. My stay was during the covid and even under these circumstances. The staff was amazing. Most people do not realise what goes with being a care giver. Just remember your nurse is about 5 or 6 other residence nurse as well. Your CNA is several others CNA as well. My only complaint was the food. There is alot of room for improvement.

When you see pictures or your this facility they show you the beautiful remodeled wing more than likely your patient is not going to be in this wing. Ask about the Behavior plan for a TBI patient and also ask to see the 400 hall of your patient acts up they will end up there. Ask about the restriction and privileges that are denied or limited ask about a timeframe. Our patient is a fall risk caught them with her in a shower room unsupervised and locked in. They have been caught with fecal matter dried on the floor had to ask for a janitor to clean it. Our patient couldn’t talk but a whisper had a Jack&Jill bathroom with a man whom confused repeatedly came in her room. Moved rooms and the roommate needed a toilet lift which our patient had to move to get to the toilet. These bathrooms are not equipped for wheelchairs to fit comfortably inside for easy transfer. Also they gave our loved one some else’s medication and called an hour later. During this conversation when I asked about the interactions with her current meds the nurse replied The doctor doesn’t think it’s a big deal! I know you are in a position and that other hospitals have referred you to this place. BEWARE!! Listen to your patient or loved one that is the reason you have to ears. Investigate look for another place this one is not it. The state has been notified. They claim to have a church service for all to attend that is not true it is in a different hall and each hall is locked and the only way to get through Is from a nurse. If you have a TBI patient here BEWARE and investigate!!!

My father was there for about 3 weeks and had a very poor experience. He wasn't served supper one night. He was supposed to be in rehab and he is weaker now than what he went in. The social worker told us that he was being dismissed and she didn't have time to help us find another facility. I do not recommend this place at all.

My father ( Roger), was a former resident at Meadowbrook. He was well cared for by the staff and administration, the entire duration of his stay. Throughout his long journey toward recovery..he was placed in many care facilities around the KCMO/KS area, and family saw firsthand the difference between an exceptional facility as Meadowbrook and....well....the others. The staff at MB go way beyond what is considered their job, and do everything possible to make the residents, as well as their families feel at home. My family will never forget the kindness and attention shown to us, and our loved one. God bless you all.

My mother has been in long term care at Meadowbrook for several years. The staff has taken good care of her, been friendly and caring, and kept in good communication with me.

Rude staff. Rude administrator. Insensitive to the patient and disrespect visitors. Lots of cattiness. Lost most of patients' clothing. Took personal items like bowls and spoons with no permission. Felt unwelcomed after my third visit toward the end. Don't be fooled by their pretty pictures on the website. The whole facility is not like that. And good luck 'cause they've got some shining examples of how not to treat a person.

I know the activity director at Meadowbrook, and they do a great job of the things that are going on. I've had great interactions with the staff, and the people I know who've been there had some positive interactions with them as well. The rooms were mostly double rooms and could have personalized by the people who lived there. The place was really nice and they care about their residents.
