Not good, but they try to make it look good. Moved my mom out as soon as I could. Over priced & employees on their phones all weekend. Food is kindergarten quality. Staff are not properly trained for dealing with dementia.

I placed my husband at Windsor Manor Indianola, but after 7 weeks, they made him leave. That was pretty traumatizing because he liked it there, and I liked it there. They said they had memory care, but they were not qualified to have memory care. They didn't know how to take care of them or how to deal with them. So, they asked us to leave after 7 weeks and they never gave us notice. It was a nice place, and it's kind of small, which I liked. They had activities and my husband and I both enjoyed that. They had an area outside where you could go and sit in the gazebo. The staff members were the ones who complained about my husband. They were always calling me and saying my husband did this or my husband did that. They can't get him out of the room, so they'd call me at 7:00 in the morning and have me come over and get him out of the room. The rooms were very small, as well.

My aunt is in Windsor Manor, and she is doing well. They are helpful. It happens to be the only place that met her criteria. She was looking for a short-term place where she could recuperate, give her more strength, and have some physical therapy. The room was freshly painted and looks nice. It is probably smaller than what she likes, but she gets what she pays for, and she gets a good value.

My dad has been in Windsor Manor since June 1st. They are very friendly and accommodating, and they made us feel very welcome right away. It was a smaller facility. He’s got a medium sized, one-bedroom; it’s very clean, it smells nice, and it has fresh carpeting and fresh paint. They have nice wood work, a small oven, and a small refrigerator. The room has a big window in the bedroom and living area. There’s a nice sink and counter top. We have enough room for his belongings, and he feels like he’s a little bit at home. There’s lots of storage. They played Bingo, and there’s a crafts room. In summer they have a barbeque every other week. They have people from the community that come in and play some music. They assign seats to people in the dining area based on how they get along with other residents.

I thought Windsor Manor at Indianola was nice. I knew about this place because I had a friend who had her mother in this facility. The person I spoke with was very friendly. She showed me a couple of different rooms and gave me a paper of all the different activities. I think they have a monthly community outing. They also have laptop computers that the residents can use. It seemed very clean, and I like the idea that you could go down at different times and get food. Their dining room kind of like a convenient restaurant type of dining room. It was OK, but it wasn’t what I expected.
