Western Home Communities is a very large campus. It has everything. It has memory care, assisted living, and private homes as part of the campus. It's very, very, very well kept. You wouldn't have to leave the community to do anything; it has everything on site. I think the price is relative to what they offer, so, it's relatable and understandable for what they charge. It's a very, very nice place. And it's more for people who like to be more social and more active in the community. However, it wasn't appropriate for my brother. He is more of a small community kind of person. He doesn't do well in big crowds. He would have been majorly overwhelmed at Western Home. I couldn't say a bad thing about Western Home; it just wasn't the right choice for my brother's personality. I've eaten in one of their dining areas before, and they have excellent food. They have their own mini store and gym and all these things you would never have to leave.

When buying into an apartment here, they will tell you that you will recoup most of your money, if not more, when you sell, due to rising real estate prices. However, after five years of living here they want to give my mother back $200,000 for a home that cost her $264,000. They state they haven't raised their apartment costs in the last five years. When I do a search on what the current property value estimate is, the average is around $298,000.

Older villas and townhomes are not care for properly. Management seems more concerned with building more "residences" than providing proper maintenance and care for the current "residences". A lot of standard issues come with the caveat of additional cost to the current resident. Find some where else to live!

We have taken an apartment at Willowwood, but we haven't moved in yet. It's in proximity to where my sister works and the programs are good. They have two community rooms that we can reserve for family get-togethers, an area where anybody can play pool, and they have laundry facilities. Plus, it's all close to the apartment we've chosen. They have the meals right on site and from our door, it's just about 50 feet. The laundry room is just down the hall a short ways, and there's a small storage closet across the hall from our apartment where we can store a small Christmas tree or that sort of thing. They have a lot of community things to do with other people in our building, which will be good for us. There's plenty to do, like movie night, popcorn night, Bingo, and then some. The staff is very friendly and overly helpful. We can even take our cat along, and the price is very reasonable.

I found Western Home Communities to be very helpful, accommodating, and I wanted us to make it our home. They let us pick the new carpet and we could hang curtains that we wanted or they could hang them for us. They are going to put an extra hold bar for me. We haven't moved in yet, but it sounded like there's something going on every day and it's all free of charge.

The rooms at Western Home Communities were beautiful. I was satisfied with the place during the visit. It was small but very nice. I would definitely recommend this place.

The staff is always visible and friendly. At every visit, I see at least 4 different staff members in the halls or reception area. They seem to enjoy their job with the elderly and most residents seem to enjoy their surroundings. This home has many daily activites and they try to get all residents involved as much as possible. Weather permitting, the staff will take groups of residents outside for a stroll in the gardens or simply to sit in the gazebo. The rooms are very clean as well as the residents! Every quarter, family members are invited to a care meeting which provides updates and any concerns. If there are any concerns, they are addressed and followup meetings are scheduled every other week until the concern is taken care of. They also take care of scheduling quarterly Dr's appointments for a general checkup. They notify the family when the appointment is and provide transportation to and from the appointment. They have a wonderful Christmas program and dinner every year. During the festivites, family pictures are offered at no charge. It is a very comforting feeling to know that my Aunt Mary is being taken care of in the way that she deserves!

This place is the best, the staff are very friendly and helpful to the residents. The overall appearance of the facility is clean. In many facilities like this, there is usually a bad odor in the air, much like urine. In this facility this was not the case. The facility has it's own pool for use, a fully loaded sensory room, more than adequate space for common and dining areas, and an overall sense of professionalism. From the clients that I have had interactions with, they all seem very content with the services that they are provided, and their opportunity for community outings occurs frequently.

Both my grandpa Harold and grandpa Ronnie have recently stayed at the Western Home following surgeries. My grandpa Harold recently had a total knee replacement surgery and he was very comfortable here. The staff were really polite to me and my family whenever we came to visit him. They even allowed a few times for me to wheel my grandpa to the parking lot to see his dog. Since dogs weren't allowed in the home. My grandpa Ronnie had a similar experience when he fell out of a loader bucket and had to stay there for his physical therapy. He was a little upset that they had him connected to a machine that beeped whenever he moved (since he couldn't move on his own). But other than that, he liked it. When he could walk he would take his walker and go and talk to a lot of the others staying there and the employees and they were always nice to him and even assisted him back to his room if he was too tired to walk back himself. When he talked to them about me needing a job they offered me a position of dietary aid but I turned it down as another job came in that offered better pay.
