My mother moved into Avalon Springs Health Campus. I'm very happy with the place. The staff has been really nice. The food is very good. They give them good portion sizes and lots of vegetables. The food has a very good taste to it and smells awesome. They have stuff going on all day long. Somebody comes in and does their hair. They have a podiatrist that comes in, checks their feet, and does their toenails. They have everything. They have an in-house doctor. They have everything they need there. They have a courtyard. They have a small exercise area where they do group exercises. They have one of those reclining bicycles for them to exercise on. It's less expensive than the others I've seen. It is small, well decorated, and peaceful. It's definitely a good value.

I toured Avalon Springs Health Campus. I just think in assisted living, they could have assisted a little bit more with the person in there. The rooms were just excellent. I mean, they clean the rooms every day. It was spotless. I have to admit, they were very good at keeping things up. The food is excellent and has a great selection.

I toured Avalon Springs Health Campus. I like the openness. I like the care that I saw being given to two of the residents. I like the amenities, the menu, and the activities. Everybody I talked to was friendly and nice. The rooms I saw were very orderly. They had a dining area. When I was there, all the women were dining and they seemed to be having a good time with each other, visiting and eating. I met the rental staff, and she was really pleasant and courteous and able to answer questions.

When I come to Avalon Springs it’s a warm welcoming feeling to know that the staff is well prepared to help with loved ones during their stay. From the cozy apartment style rooms to the restaurant style dining. Everyday is filled with activities including exercise, games, painting and other things. It’s great to be surprised by the themed dinners and happy hour on Fridays everyone has a great time staff even dresses up to join the fun.

I visited Avalon Springs Health Campus. They were very helpful and worked with me when I got there. I did not have an appointment, so they made time for me and spent one-on-one time with me, answered my questions, and gave me a total tour. I've tried to reach out to them by phone, no one picked it up, then I had left a message and I didn't get a response, that's the only problem I had with them. The apartments seemed clean and it's a good spot for the elderly that needs some assistance. They gave me a calendar, and they had bingo, and they had a sing-along going on as we walked through. They recently had an Oktoberfest type day, and they do something like that every month and that would be a special meal. They had the German hats that they got for them and it looked like they had fun with that. I saw a dining room and outside spaces, and they had tables and chairs set up. There was a sitting area up front, which was like a family room area setup. The facility seemed clean. They were friendly and helpful. They would have transportation for doctors' appointments if needed. They have respite care where dad could come in and stay at the facility for a short time like a week or so and see what he thinks, so I liked that idea.

My mom has moved to Avalon. The staff is friendly and courteous. What I like best about it is that their memory care is a separate building from their assisted living. It’s small and has about 32 rooms. The entire staff in that building, from the custodians to cooks, are trained for memory care. The grounds are well manicured, and the location is fine for me.

Avalon Springs was very clean and newer. My mom was a patient there for a rehab and had excellent care there. The food looked good. They had different entertainment there that my mom enjoyed and different visiting musicians. They had a place where the girls did nails and a little movie area with popcorn and snacks.

My mother is now at Avalon Springs. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would say the staff is a 9. The place has different levels of care. My mom is in the assisted living area. They just had a price increase, so I’m now paying about $4,800 a month, which is pricey. The room is just one room with its own bath. It is small. You have your own heater and air-conditioning unit, but the point is this: The facility is very nice. They have good food and entertainment. My mom is a very difficult client, so that being said, they’re probably a 5. There are two different dining areas. Every Friday, they have happy hour with live entertainment. It is nicely run -- as well as it can be. They also have 24-hour nurse care from either LPNs or RNs. They take residents on a couple of outings a week, out to dinner, and to doctor’s appointments. She has been there for three years now.

Don't get roped into going here for short term rehab after any surgery. My mother was sent here after a knee replacement surgery because she was progressing to well to go to the regular rehab after surgery. (insurance issues) We went with a list of instructions from her surgeon as to what was tequired fro continued progress with the knee. They did none of it with the excuse that her doctor was not their staff. This place was determined to make sure she she did not get better. In fact, everything they did, from the moment we walked in, hindered her recovery. They would not ice her knee, they took her compression socks off, they restricted her mobility, they did not provide rehabilitation regularly or with the right amount of rigor, the food was inedible, and she was treated poorly. It was like they were intentionally doing things to make her have to stay longer so they could get her insurance money. The regular stay in the rehab facility affiliated with the hospital where her surgery was would have only been 3 to five days. When we told them that our intention was to stay at Avalon Springs about the same amount of time, they laughed at us and said the standard stay was at least 3 weeks. Standard stay??????? What does this have to do with rehabbing a knee. Her knee swelled up with out being iced and with the socks off and no exercise. Then they tried to say she could not leave unless she could bend the knee to a certain degree after they made sure she couldn't. We had to demand to be released and cause a big commotion to get out of there. Once I got my mom home and actually followed all of the directives given by her surgeon she got better quickly. Horrible place! I had the opportunity to speak to many of the residents while I was there and they all said the same thing, " RUN!!!!!! get out of here while you still can"!

Avalon Springs is well decorated but I just felt it's more institutional. I toured the place and it's not what I wanted. I talked to the people there and they're not getting the care they needed. The staff seemed fine. They do have an activity program.

Avalon Springs Health Campus did wonderful care for my husband while he was still alive. I chose that facility because it was easy for me to get to and they have a wonderful reputation.
