My tour in Riverwalk Village was pleasant. It's caring and friendly. The facility is modern. It's a good location, I like it. It's close to the hospital. The rooms were spacious. They provide housekeeping, also laundry and bathing. It's quaint. It's close to downtown, so it's kind of a fun area. They have friendly and supportive staff.

My dad's rehab was here after hip replacement surgery. Staff was very quick with his needs and therapy was good at keeping him motivated. They gave him therapy exercises he could do at home which I really appreciate.

The rooms could be bigger. If they were bigger, one would not have to move wheelchairs, food trays, all the time. Many staff members in the rooms were nice. I helped my roommate, as she often needed more care than she received. Physical rehab staff was nice. Essentially, one gets under thirty minutes of physical rehab five days a week and none on the weekend. So if one needs much physical rehabilitation, he/she will not get it there. Some assistants in the rooms were rude. Waiting most of an hour for a bedpan is too long. Griping about getting urine into the bed from a bedpan was inexcusable. Telling a patient to stand on a broken leg was ridiculous, as the surgeon had ordered no weight on leg. Most important, the head staff tried to keep me from leaving. I was getting three trays of food per day and medication delivered by staff. They wanted me to stay until I could walk on the broken leg. I could NOT afford that. It was my impression that the place wanted to take all my money and leave me homeless. I had to send my friends out to find me a manual wheelchair. No help was offered. Prescriptions were not phoned in without my making extra calls to the facility. Then only one was called in which was okay. However, why couldn't I have been told that? I guess the staff couldn't find me in my Riverwalk room. This might be a good place for people with severe dementia. I don't know. It's not a good place for physical rehabilitation. I was told the person taking me home wasn't good enough, but the individual saying that had never met him. This was all about grabbing my money. I pointed out to her that I have a friend in a wheelchair in her own home who also lives alone. At any rate, I believe only residents with severe dementia should be here. I felt going in there would be my final home. Thankfully, it wasn't. However, physical rehabilitation is not emphasized there. It is not important, as longer stays equals lots more money.

I came here for physical therapy after being in the hospital for 2 months after having covid. The physical therapy staff helped me get moving again so I could finally go home. They also gave me tips and movements to do at home. Staff was overall nice, food is just okay. Wish there were more options for food I didn’t like but my physical treatment was the most important and I was very happy with that.

We are happy with my dad's stay in the memory care section. He seems to have plenty of things to keep him busy during the day and he likes his roommate.

Riverwalk was able to get my mother into their rehab unit quickly from the hospital. She was very happy with the physical therapy she received and she even enjoyed the food. We are happy to see her get the therapy she needed to be able to return to her assisted living.

My dad has made the move to memory care recently and the staff has really helped my family deal with the changes he has gone through. I am happy with the care he is getting as well as the care the staff provides to my family in helping us understand what's going on.

I was under the impression this facility was excellent since it is showing a rating of 4-1/2. I don't feel this is the case. A couple of the staff members were nice to my mom who was there for rehab recovering from Covid. All I kept hearing was how uncooperative my mom was with the staff and Dr. I commented this was not my mom when I had just gotten comments from her nurses and Drs. at the hospital in Terre Haute how sweet and cooperative she had been and what a good patient she was. I ask them on three occasions to check her for a UTI since she had been on a catheter for close to 30 days and I was told they would do that. They did NOT!! The Dr. informed me that he heard slight pneumonia in her left lung upon checking her. Wouldn't you assume they would treat that. They did NOT. When she was taken to Riverview hospital the first thing they told me was that she had a UTI and pneumonia. She passed away at another facility that I transferred her to 5 days later on hospice. I wouldn't recommend this facility for your loved ones.

My wife is in Riverwalk Village right now. The staff is really great and has been a big help to me. They have retirement facilities for me, but it is not apartment-style and more nursing home-style. The staff people go out of their way to do little things for her. The doctor and everyone are all taking care of her right there.

Riverwalk Village was nice too, but their rooms were not as modern. The dining area was nice and comparable to others we've visited, and the staff was nice.
