I was first greeted by the driver for the Health Campus. He told me it was a wonderful place and he had a family member there and it was a great place. Then I talked with Sandra the community service representative. . What a kind and wonderful woman. She showed me around the place and introduced the staff. Everyone I met there was so kind and understanding. The building is wonderful and very clean. They have many activities and entertainment for their people. I looked at many places in a 100 mile radius. This was by far the best for the money.

My dad moved to Glen Oaks Health Campus. I like it because of where it's located. There are not many businesses around except for a church on the one side, but that's about it. They've got open spots, I can take him outside and they seem like they got their heads together. They've got therapy and then they've got bingo, a religious service on Sundays, and a game room. Then they've got a bunch of different TV rooms, so if you don't want to sit in your room, you can watch it down there. My dad has no teeth and they brought him something he couldn't chew. When I told them, they said I could just take it for myself and then I went and got him something else. The food was good. The facility is very nice, very clean, and very up to date.

I did not like Glen Oaks Health Campus at all. They were doing karaoke and they were serving alcohol to the residents when I walked in. I had no problems with that; I just did not like the facility. It wasn't the smell, it wasn't the cleanliness, it was the feel that I got from that place. The residents seemed happy, but it felt more like an institution. They only have studio apartments, which have dorm-sized refrigerator and microwaves. The facility was nice.

My father was a resident at Glen Oaks in the Memory Care Unit during the last year of his life from 2007 - 2008. I can't imagine a better environment for him or any person suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's. The staff was attentive and caring, and welcomed our family whenever we visited. He was attended to with extraordinary tenderness. We are thankful to them and for them.
