We're very pleased with the care at Bickford of Lafayette, they seem to be very on top of things. They have jigsaw puzzles and things like that, my father is a big jigsaw puzzle fan, so he likes those. I think they do a very good job with his room, and we're very happy with them. They have a nice social room where everybody can sit and watch TV together. Their dining room is very nice, they have a lot of activities for the people, and different people come in to visit with them and that sort of thing. The food is very appetizing, my dad eats it even though he can be picky about the food. They use their own furniture.

Bickford of Lafayette was a small community. The director was very involved with the residents there. The rooms that I saw were fairly standard, and the bathrooms seemed more hospital-like. They didn't seem to have a whole lot of activities. They had a small lounge/study/library area. They didn't have many amenities there. It didn't seem to have a lot of organization. They seemed to be kind of understaffed to me because I saw one of the nurses also doubling as a cook.

Bickford of Lafayette was a very nice place. It's a very loving community with developing relationships among the residents and the staff. The staff who did the tour was extremely likable and she loved her job there and she knew each resident's name and spoke to them as they passed them in the hallway on our tour. The rooms were beautiful and very clean. I liked that they were able to bring their own furniture. I observed people with dementia counting M&M's and they were allowed to eat them. They were also separating them into groups. They were using their brain.

Bickford Senior Living of Lafayette had several levels of care, and it seemed to be very good, but the expense was much higher there than at other places. I had a very positive experience there. The main factor for us was financial because they had six levels of care. But then, the pricing at six different levels kept going up and up and up. The more my father declines, the more expensive it would be. But the facility was very good. They permitted pets there. In fact, they kind of had a resident dog there. That was a pretty appealing feature. They had a good variety of foods, which is good for my father because he's very picky when he eats. The only real negative about it was that even though the person in charge was very good, efficient, knowledgeable, and seemingly caring, she also was a bit pushy. She said things like "You do want to put down a deposit today, don't you? If you wait too long, you're going to lose this spot." She called me back a couple more times to try to negotiate. Other than that, I would recommend the facility.

I had a meal at Bickford and was shown several rooms there. They had a hand-held shower that could be removed from its bracket and still carry water and the bracket itself could be swirled up and down a rod hanging on the wall which I found very, very good. The 1-bedroom apartment had a shower, commode and a kitchen with refrigerator and stove for making your own meal.

The woman who runs Bickford is very good. When I visited this facility for my mom, I was very impressed with the staff but it was extremely expensive. It was out of our range. It was a small facility, probably not as big as where my mother is in right now. I thought their rooms were very small. The food seemed okay. However, I was very impressed by the quality of the tour and the follow-up. They gave us very helpful advice despite the fact that my mother is not going there. I would recommend this place to others.

First, let me start off by saying my grandmother like most is set in her ways.I never thought in a thousand years she'd step in a place like this one. But to my surprise and everyone else in the family she has. It most certainly has lived up to my standards. I have the relief of knowing she's in good hands. She is still independent in many ways but has that option for extra help when she needs it. This particular facility offers many benefits: laundry, help with bathing, dressing, and meals. The staff is amazing. They know each and every resident by name. Even the little things, like, how she likes her coffee.I don't even know that. One of the nicest things about this facility is the volunteers, and visitors they recieve. This is on almost a daily basis. One visitor in particular is the local Catholic Priest. He visits every Wednsday and when one of the residents is sick. All in all,my family and I are very pleased with this facility.

The Bickford Senior Living Center is one of the most peaceful and relaxing nursing homes that I have ever been in. Their facility is warm and inviting. The atmosphere reminded me more of a country club than a nursing home and I could not be happier about that. They have so many types of activities that the residence can do. They also have a spa and fitness area. Before my father was put into their care I had never heard of them and was scared of the quality of care he would receive. The friendly and knowledgeable staff made the transition very easy on my father and I. He was able to have his own private room the first day that he arrived, which made him very happy because he is a man of privacy. The rooms look like mini hotel rooms and not like a sterile hospital environment. The dining facility has waiters and some of the best food I have ever had. They also provide a separate dining room for those who have guest visiting. I never thought I would feel so at ease putting my father into nursing care but we are both so very happy. He has become so much more social, more than he has been in years.
