My wife and I live in one of the Garden Homes. We enjoy the proximity to the Nature Preserve where we can walk the trails and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Before we moved in, the house was remodeled with input from us on what we wanted done. We picked the flooring, interior paint colors and the kind of fixtures. We are very happy with the results. The staff here is wonderful. They are always friendly and willing to assist us. The kitchen and dining staff go out of the way to meet our needs and offer creative menus on special days. We are glad that we live here during the current pandemic because the staff was so responsive; and we were able to form a community of friends here. Transportation to some community activities, medical appointments and grocery shopping is provided without cost to us. We especially enjoy the monthly book review lunches, the mystery dinners in restaurants and the cultural programs provided in house. The Life Enrichment Team tries to make sure that there are activities that appeal to residents with varying interests and capabilities.

I am a resident of University Place. This is the only senior living place I've been in, and it's fine for what it is. I certainly have my druthers. If I could design a place from scratch, there are several things I would put into it. A swimming pool would be a big plus but we do not have one here. I'm in a two-bedroom, two-bath apartment, and that is lovely. The employees and the dining staff that we have are superb. They're wonderful, caring, and helpful. I don't know where they pull from to get this mentality but the maintenance here, the administrative people know that the staff is superb. We have a chef and they do three meals a day if we choose. I don't get three meals a day because I don't want to. I typically have dinner here. They have capable cooks and desert people, and just for every category, it's very good. For the activities, they go the extra mile. We have an activities director who's bringing music in here for us and that's great. We have a weekly cleaning staff. I have someone come in once a week to clean my apartment. The maintenance staff here is out of this world. Anything that you need, a bulb changed, and up to something major. They are Johnny on the spot. They are wonderful. This is an expensive place.

University Place was very clean and organized. The staff was very friendly. The management that we met with was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were very nice, very updated, and very contemporary. They matched well with my mom's personality. The dining room area was also very nice. We did not stay for a meal but it's spacious and cozy. The atmosphere of the place was upbeat and quietly reserved. There were a lot of groups and a lot of gatherings for meeting other individuals. There was group therapy not only for physical but also for mental health. I think that my mom would benefit from those.

I had an in-person tour of University Place, and it was an excellent tour. They were very kind, took a lot of time, and had patience with all our questions. It was a beautiful facility. It was definitely on the top of our list. The people seemed caring. The woman who gave us the tour knew all the patients by name and stopped and talked to them. I just thought that was kind. The rooms were beautiful, brand new, very clean, warm, and comfortable. The dining area looked nice. We saw their activities room. There were people playing games and sitting by a fireplace.

When my wife and I were looking for a Senior Living Community to move into, University Place was on our list to check into. On our initial tour of University Place, we were very impressed about how Friendly the Staff and Residents were as they greeted us while we visited all the areas of the facility. We could see how everyone focuses on the comforts of Every Day Life with each resident. We felt the vibrant, active, and caring lifestyle we were looking for, and chose to Move into University Place. Now that we have been living here at University place for sometime, we know that we made the right decision. We have made so many friendships with other residents. We love the meals and the dining experience we receive daily here at University Place. The Variety of Social groups and Events that are offered by the Life Enrichment staff are well attended. University Place is now our home with all the amenities necessary for a "Living Joyfully" Lifestyle.

UP is a beautiful place with many wonderful associates and residents. IL is very comfortable and I love my spacious apartment and private patio. The dining room is welcoming and pleasant. I love the activities offered to everyone. Of course due to COVID, some activities have been put on hold, but we all make the best of it. The Boilermaker Special was here last week and residents and staff went for a cruise. There are outdoor gazebos to enjoy the beautiful scenery and the chapel and beauty parlor are a big plus. The office staff helps with just about any situation that arises and they are so sincere and genuine. Maintenance staff is professional and helpful, nothing is too big or too small of a job for them. I have lived here for 18 years.

First night my Mother was there she had come from a long hospital stay and was at University Place for rehab, she almost died because the night nurse didn't know how to do her bipap so they just left if off. During the night Mom was transported to ER and her toes were coal black from lack of O2 and her CO2 was sky high. Thankfully the ER nurse remembered Mom from her recent hospital stay and knew to get her on the bipap ASAP.

I liked the natural setting of University Place, its proximity to parks, and the generously landscaped facility they have. Every apartment has a nice balcony with pretty views, and that was important, and I liked the whole atmosphere. One of the big pluses was its proximity to Purdue University, so the level of the residents' education and intellectuality, as I perceived, was attractive to me. The marketing lady was fantastic. She was very personable, very warm, and wasn't overly sweet or anything. She was just a wonderful human being, just perfect in her role. She also said that there are many food options and that they stressed healthy food, which I'm interested in, so I don't have any fears that I would not be able to find the food that I am accustomed to or I want to eat.

University Place was exorbitantly expensive. You get what you pay for. The staff was very personable and professional. There seemed to be a good staff to resident ratio, and of course, that's what you get when you pay that kind of money. They just have topnotch facilities, excellent maintenance, and the location is beautiful.

University Place was great, the lady was very nice, very informative, and showed me the different rooms. It was a good experience. I was so comfortable there. They had a whole folder drawn up for me, so I could look and see what was there. They have a rehab center, the dining rooms, the chapel, and the theater room I guess. I think it's a very nice place.

University Place was good for what they did for me. We had exercises, card games, movies, and entertainment. The place was pretty expensive, but the food was good.

My parents have been independent residents here for 7 years. We have never had a complaint or issue that administration was not willing to address. Several of their friends have gone on to need assisted or even full skill care. I would say the same thing I would apply to any healthcare facility...family participation in care is critical to safe delivery (checking med list, following up on changes, etc). While it is certainly EVERY facilities obligation to provide safe care, families need to take some responsibility in being part of that safety net. In terms of their facility, dining, quality of food, décor, activities, and caring staff you can NOT get better than this level in Lafayette. We've even enjoy live music during Sunday meals, been to outdoor Hawaiian parties, cook-outs and even taken hot air balloon rides for a special celebration in the courtyard. It is located immediately connected to the Celery Bogs with paved walking trails and beautiful nature center. If you can't find something to like here I think it might be time to check your perspective.

My in-laws lived at University Place for over ten years. It is a beautiful and clean facility, and the food is pretty good but the upfront cost and monthly rent are very expensive. The staff seemed nice, but my in-laws had some items missing from their apartment and weren't very happy about it and nothing was ever done to compensate them for their losses.

Both of my parents lived here. My mother's jewelry was stolen and my dad had bedsores. My opinion is that this is a money hungry facility and they want every penny they can get.

The people at University Place were very nice. We liked them a lot. The rooms were very nice as well. I visited a man there. He had a two-bedroom apartment. There was a very nice living room, nice windows, and nice decorations. The kitchen was small, but it had a fridge, a stove, and a microwave.

A good business for the owner. They respect the money more than human. I went there to see the facilities and the staff. I asked if I can wait for my friend who was a resident there. Unfortunately, they were not friendly to us. I waited there for 15 minutes and left it forever. Get prepared to see them do not respect your guests. However, it is a nice looking and clean facility if you do not care about respect.

This assisted living facility is modern and state of the art. The facility was visibly clean upon entering and the grounds were kept beautifully. On site there is a pond as well as a nature preserve with walking trails. The residents were well dressed, seemed content, and the lobby was full of visiting families. This is not usually the case at other retirement homes. One thing that particularly stood out to me was the pleasant smell. There was no "eau-de-old" smell. I visited the home for a weekend brunch. The dining area was very well maintained. It was almost as if you were being served at a fine dining establishment. There were linens on the table as well as proper flatware. This was quite a change from the other homes I have visited. Other homes use cafeteria or hospital style trays. The food was excellent. My friend and I enjoyed both breakfast and lunch items. There were mostly healthy, low sodium, whole grain items on the buffet. This was a nice touch.

All of the people were very friendly. I enjoyed my time there. I enjoyed the bingo and poker tournaments they wet up. They had a really good dining court. I enjoyed the food there. We had a tennis and basketball court, and a swimming pool. There was free internet access at the place, and I shared a room with 2 other people. The medical facilities were very good, and it was all covered by medicare. Overall, I am very satisfied with this facility.

The facility that I visited had many good qualities however there were some bad qualities as well. One of the best quality was that the facility was really clean and organized. This gave my family a peace of mind since it makes the facility a lot more professional. Another great quality was that the staff were all very friendly and seemed interested in their jobs. There were also many activities at the facility and plenty of programs which would keep the residents busy during their day. One of the bad quality was that the facility didn't seem homey enough which was a big deal for my family.
