Evergreen Village at Fort Wayne is very good. They seemed to care for their residents. My brother's room is very nice. They came in and cleaned it, did his laundry, and everything. They take really good care of him. They have recreation places where they can play cards or pool or do arts and crafts. I would refer it to anyone, because it's just nice. They also have a beauty shop, a spa, and physical therapy. I had lunch with him one day and it was really good. We had hamburger steak, mashed potatoes, green beans, a roll, and a little salad. The dining area was very clean. There's no odor there or anything. Money-wise, it's really good.

Evergreen Village at Fort Wayne was brand new, and it was built almost specifically for Medicaid and Medicaid waiver. It's very, very nice. It had a lot of activities. That's where my husband was going to go, but he needed more care than that. They had two big pool tables and card tables. When you walk in, it's like a huge room and a lot of people were sitting down there, some in their wheelchairs, some were talking to each other and they had newspapers. It was a good place for people who weren't ready to go into a long-term care situation. There weren't as many wheelchairs. There were walkers and canes, and they had elevators. They had a nurse practitioner that you could make your primary care physician. They had four levels of care and with the highest level of care, they would even come in and check you at night to see if you wet yourself. They also had 24/7 care, so you know someone was there to take care of something if necessary. They had a very nice dining room, but they also had a little bistro. The units all had full kitchens. They were very nice. It's a huge place, and it was very well planned.

We like everything about Evergreen Village at Fort Wayne. The apartment has everything my dad needs, which is really nice. They will come in and help him with his meds if needed. A one-bedroom apartment is what we were looking at. They provide the appliances, like a smaller refrigerator. You can bring your own bigger refrigerator as long as it fits in the space they set. The staff was good. They have a display, so that the residents can see what the food is that they are having each day. They have snacks sitting out daily for the residents, which are first come and first serve. They provide three meals a day. The facility is new and clean. They have a really nice outdoor space where they can eat outside if they want to. The residents have a garden, and they are growing vegetables and flowers. They accept Medicaid.

Evergreen Village at Fort Wayne offers great features and everything my grandparents are looking for. The staff members are polite and helped with the move in process. So far everything is working out in our favor and they are excited to go. They have a walking area and a garden, and my grandparents love that very much. It is everything they we were looking for and more. The one-bedroom apartment is very spacious with a nice kitchenette. They also have alert buttons that you can carry around in case anything happens.

My parents have an application to Evergreen Village at Fort Wayne. We did an in-person tour, they were really good, my mom and dad were really pleased. The staff was excellent, very informative, very patient, and they explained things to where my mom and dad could really understand what they were telling them. They showed the menu, the dining area is not open yet, and they're in the process of getting it set up. The patient's trays are being taken to their rooms for right now. We looked at the one-bedroom, it's got what they call a micro-fridge, the microwave is on top of a small refrigerator with a little freezer, it's got counter space, and you could put a small table with a couple of chairs in there for dining. You could put a couple recliners in there, or recliner and a loveseat in the living room with an entertainment center for television, and in the bedroom you could put a full-sized bed with a nightstand and dresser. The bathroom has a walk-in shower, but it does not have a tub.

We will be moving to Evergreen Village at Fort Wayne. We chose this place because we could not afford the other places, and we needed to get a place that would take Medicaid, and Evergreen Villages does that. The place only opened up last year, so it's brand new and it's absolutely beautiful. And we're looking very forward to getting in there. They have a lot of amenities, they provide a lot of services for you, and the staff was all very gracious. From my perspective, that's where we needed to be. The other big thing was that they take Medicaid and adjust your payment accordingly. They have a menu posted in the dining room and they have daily entrees to choose from. And if you don't like anything on that list, they have another list of things that are always available.
