My grandfather was a resident at Hearthstone on a couple of different occasions and my grandmother was also a resident once. Hearthstone staff were always very caring and treated my grandparents (as well as the rest of my family) as if we were part of their family. Nobody ever told us "no", everything was "Let me see what I can do" and I really liked that about this place. I would recommend it to anyone needing rehab or long term care, and also for Hospice, as that is what my grandfather was here for the most recent time he was here. Thank you Hearthstone for everything you all did for my grandparents.

Sent today on a survey request….. Glad you are requesting a review of the service and care for my mother. We have lost track of the number of times we have pointed out issues to the management as well as the staff. On a number of occasions we have found her with these conditions and her room: 1) no sheets/ bedding on bed as she sits/lays on the vinyl mattress, 2) room and bathroom absolutely filthy, example: toilet seat covered in feces, 3) she smells due to lack of bathing, 4) we have requested that she not eat in her room. She needs to go to the dining room, 5) she finally after a couple of months has a working tv with a remote. When she was moved to a new room her "fire stick" did not, 6) the attitude of most of the staff is apathetic, example: when sheets are, they do not even offer assistance... Please tell us these are not your standards or that this is not part of your training program for the staff. You can do better. A "high 5" rating? How about a low 5 (-5) rating. Also she is never taken to any activities

Hearthstone Health Campus seemed fine to us. It's all assisted living units and there's an additional cost per level of care. I didn't meet any staff members that were derogatory in any manner. The rooms seemed fine.

I have a parent at this facility and I have really mixed feelings about it. Different aspects rate differently. I have had some TERRIBLE nurses there - but also some really good ones. They vary a lot. No one seems to know what is going on, though. The doctor, Dr. Heady, seems to be poorly informed about senior care and in the many years that my loved one has been there, I have actually never met him. One nurse accidentally let slip that he doesn't really come - his nurse usually comes late at night in his place. My loved one was seeing a specialist and Dr. Heady would change the medications constantly - really ticking off the specialist. The food is sometimes great and sometimes awful. I disagree with the comment about portion sizes, though. There is a lot of food here. There are also lots of great snacks around - including popcorn. The entertainment is daily and the volunteer ladies in pink are amazing! So - so far - I give nursing staff a 2 or 3, Dr. Heady a 1 (or less), the business office a 4, the nursing staff that includes the head nurse a 2, the food a 3, and the aids a 4 or 5. PT has pros and cons. They don't seem to like to work with people who aren't part of their rehab unit and appear to find ways to dump those in long term nursing care out - and then refuse to allow them to walk. The expense - way over priced even a bit high compared to other facilities so 2, Overall what I like best about this facility are the aids, the activity folks, and the amenities. What I like least is the medical care and the PT.

hallways smell awful, people are always outside smoking, food portions are tiny. staff is friendly but wait times for assistance is unacceptable. the only area we consistently had a positive experience with is the therapy dept but the cons outweighed the pros. would not recommend.

Hearthstone Health Campus is wonderful, and everybody is so nice and caring. We've been very pleased. One of the reasons we went with them for my dad was it was all on one level, and we liked that it's not too big. I would recommend it to anyone.

Hearthstone was very nice. The staff was friendly, seemed to know people’s names, and were on top of what was going on with the patients. It’s one of the newer senior living places in Bloomington, so they had a really nice physical therapy gym area, a dining area for the nursing home part that was separate from the assisted living part, and a TV with tables and a telephone included in every room.

Hearthstone Health Campus is a very nice facility and met all of the requirements of what I needed. They were able to give us a tour of the entire facility. I saw the activities room, and there were puzzles on the table and Bible study going on. I saw a small group discussing senior activities that were available.

my brother in law was in the rehab unit after having a stroke. when he first went there they told us not to worry about his insurance that he had good coverage, then when he was released they told us not to worry, then 2 months later my sister got a 2100.00 bill from there stating they were not contracted with his insurance. due to all the other bills that have accumulated during the process of his stroke my sister can not afford this and they are being rude about the bill. the night he was admitted in there he was dropped 2 times by the staff, they acted like they had never worked with a stroke patient before, even though they told us they had several. I would not recommend this place to anyone...

My wife and I are presently in Hearthstone, and we're happy with it. We've been there about 2 months now. They probably have 30 or 35 residents. The people are really wonderful. They do just about everything you want. We chose it primarily because of location, and it was brand new. It just opened on the first of March. My wife and I have 2 rooms side by side, and they put a door in between them. We have two kitchenettes. We have one in each room, and we have a microwave and a refrigerator. I think the food is wonderful. We have an activities director and an assistant activities director. They have all kinds of exercise equipment. They have a picture puzzle thing and exercise events. We've gone to a couple of places and a baseball game or two. If you don't participate in their prescription plan, you pay an extra $50 a month.
