My husband moved into Cedarhurst of Naperville/Woodridge. He's only been there two or three weeks. It's a nice, clean, modern facility, and very friendly. The rooms are a nice size. They have a lot of activities. I heard the food is really good. They have a freezer and fridge, then they have a kitchen area in another spot, not in the rooms; that the people could use. I have not tried the food. I've seen the menu and I could say they are better than I do at home. It's like a huge variety of meals, and I saw a plan for a two-week menu, and it's a nice variety. It's very, very clean, and I know they're gonna do some carpet replacement, so they keep up with the maintenance of the place. I saw that they had someone come, they were having a live singer come in there, somebody that kind of sings Frank Sinatra things. And they have a book club and they have board game nights, and they have a movie room, so they do movies twice a week. They have a library.

We chose Cedarhurst of Naperville because of personal references from other people that have had family members staying there who said they liked the place and that the staff was very caring. Their staff is very good at working with my dad in memory care. They're patient and they understand him and what he needs. From what I have seen, the food looks really good. The facility is clean and I think it's a fairly new place. With COVID going on, I know they're probably light on staff like everyplace else so they haven't been getting back to me. Sometimes they're not as prompt as they could be in getting back to me about stuff but I think that's just because their plates are full because of COVID. Not that they have COVID in the facility, they don't, but for whatever reason, they're short-staffed right now. The facility is easy to get to. I probably would have preferred someplace closer to Western Springs, but since we did have a personal recommendation for this facility, I worked with it.

When I walked into Cedarhurst of Naperville, I felt the lobby was very sterile and cold. It didn't look inviting, although it was clean and new. Maybe it was because there weren't any people there. I'm not sure what it was, but it just seemed like it's not been lived in very much. And then I saw the room; it was tiny for the price that they were asking. The monthly rate plus the medication management was just really high. The staff told me there were going to be activities -- the same as all these other places -- but I didn't see anybody doing anything because it was a new place. I didn't see a separate library; all I remember is the cafeteria, a little snack area, and a big, huge lobby with a fireplace. I only met one person and she was nice. So there was nothing wrong with the staff; I just didn't like the place. Ever since I went and saw it, which was a year and a half or two years ago, it doesn't look like there have been a lot of cars in the parking lot. That tells me that they're not doing too well, or they don't have that many people there.

My wife is at Cedarhurst of Naperville/Woodridge. Both assisted living and memory care are in the three-story building there. They are friendly and they're very helpful there. They seem to make some progress already. They're right at the fifty-three and seventy fifth street corner, and they're building a medical center right next door that's just about finished. What is behind it is still sort of a construction site atmosphere right there. They have various balconies for the patients to go out on, and a lot of open space. They have a recreation room, too. They watch television together, talk, and have other activities like exercise. My wife doesn't like any kind of food, she has her favorites, and like any other place, it's not like home-cooked meals. The staff is very good and very caring. We've been to four or five different places, and everybody else had skilled nursing and assisted care, and the price difference was about double for the skilled nursing versus assisted care. This memory care and assisted living, the prices were about the same for either side because they had a hybrid approach to their care. They actually say memory care, not just skilled nursing, and that is what my wife needed.

The staff at Cedarhurst of Naperville Woodridge was very friendly and informative. We saw the menus, and we got to tour the dining room, and I think it was very satisfactory. I also think that the layout made it easy for seniors to access the common areas. It was very bright and friendly, too. The room that my father will be moving into is a studio-plus room. It's very updated and has all the essential things he needed. It was also bright, and there was a large window in it.

We're very pleased with Cedarhurst of Naperville/Woodridge. It's well organized. The people are very nice. My mother's room is a little smaller than what she had before, but it's quite nice. We like it, and she likes it. The staff has been great, and the services are very good. The food is good.

Cedarhurst of Naperville/Woodridge was brand new, clean, and beautiful, but it didn't have a lot of warmth. The staff was very nice. The dining area was beautiful and the tables had tablecloths. It was really quiet when I went in. The rooms looked fine, were brand new, and looked pretty modern. I just wasn't impressed. They were less expensive than the others.

The memory care at Cedarhurst has been a wonderful home for my mom. The rooms are very nice, opening up to the activity area. Precious is a wonderful activity director, and so is Samantha. They both plan fun activities for the residents, and truly live what they do. The staff has been very loving and caring to my mom. Theodora, Nadine, Nikita, Gladys, Marie, and Helena are always smiling and ready for anything that comes up. The building is beautiful with activity rooms, a Recreation room, movie theater and beautiful therapy room. I am very happy to be a part of Cedarhurst.

Rooms are very nice and there are options to have a kitchenette or not. There are lots of amenities such as a movie theater, activity room, and community family room which is used often for Friday social hours with hired entertainment. There are two beautiful player pianos, although I wish they were in use a little more often. Staff is very friendly although there has been a great deal of turnover at all levels from kitchen staff, RAs, nursing including DON and ADONs. I am hopeful that they have staff that will stay in place at the moment. Precious is an AMAZING activities director for MemoryCare. Residents are always so busy and she keeps the families informed of the daily events through the CareMerge app. Samantha, who directs activities with the AL residents is also very dedicated and friendly. She even drove my loved one on the Cedauhurst bus to an appointment when I couldn't get her in my car (and it was almost time for her to go home.) Nurses Alice and Joyce are super friendly and keep me informed of my loved one's needs/issues. PT/OT and Speech is in-house, but contracted out through empowermewellness and I have been very happy with their services and the compassion they show my loved one. Although the PT/OT gym took 9 months longer to complete than initially planned, I am happy to see it in operation. There had been some issues with communication between the MemoryCare floor and food service, but I think they are addressing those issues. Food generally looks/tastes good and if they don't like the meal that is served they are allowed to order something off the a la carte menu. Thanks to many of the RAs that show compassion for and/or dedication toward caring for the NaperRidge residents including Marie, Charie, Theodora, Irma, Nikita, Gladys and more. Also, the current concierge staff is lovely and welcoming. It is always nice to be greeted by Anita, Judith and Doris. Lastly, the current Executive Director, Kendra, has been really great. She even acted as a contact person for me stay in contact with my loved one when I was away on vacation. Lastly, I'd like to add that the community has had several holiday celebrations where family is invited. These are very nice social opportunities for the residents, staff and family members.

My aunt was at Cedarhurst. It was very new and just opened in March, so everything was very clean and new. However, I think their nursing staff was inexperienced for critical care thinking. The first week, my aunt's room was cleaned, and then I noticed it wasn't getting cleaned. So I said something to the director, and that problem was cleared up and then it was cleaned every week. They vacuumed and cleaned the bathroom. The meals were great and they had restaurant-setting. They had waiters that would come out and take your order. The food was very good; it was prepared nicely. There was good presentation and good variety. They called the workers "resident assistants" instead of nurse aides. However, they did not know how to operate my aunt's oxygen when she first got there, which was surprising. That took me aback and I was very upset because my aunt is on oxygen 24/7. I wasn't too happy with that. The director was very good though. She trained everybody on oxygen right away. Once that was cleared up, it was fine. They're really good about social activities. It was the best value but I got a special deal because we signed on before the end of the year, and it was best price in the area that I was looking.
