This home is dirty ,very stinky. nurses are extremely rude, and very short staffed. The food my friend had was always cold ...what I saw wasn't even appetizing. I would never eat their food. I saw workers berating residents. The staff let's many things go under the rug, if you know what I mean...I and another person, finally moved her to a much better, nicer place.

Staff are rude - starting with receptionist. This NH provides poor care. Such an old building, neglected place, smelly, and dirty inside and out. The residents are not taken care of, long nails, dirty clothes, poor hygiene and grooming. The nurses don' speak English when you try to speak with them.

Horrible..do not put your loved one there. It is old and always the smell of urine in the air. When she first went there they did not shower her for 3 weeks. I overheard a staff member tell an elderly Man she was going to hold his dinner because he was being verbally abusive to her.(which can happen with a dementia patient)I witnessed an elderly woman crying that she wanted to go back to her room to lay down and the staff member said if you don't stop you are going to sit there another hr. My sister is wheelchair bound and cant sit up by herself. She had a cold and they gave her food without lifting her head ...long story short she aspirated her food and almost died. Her pulse ox went down to 32 and they decided just to give her 02 .After they waited 1 hour they then decided to call 911. My sister is still trying to recover from her trach 5 years later. Dangerous place beware ! The rooms are very cramped and the beds are not hospital beds.

My brother was sent here from Edward Hospital. What a disappointment. When the receptionist answered the phone with hello and not Wheaton Care Center I was suspicious. The people throughout are rude and unprofessional The facility is old and unkept. Go to an other nursing home.

I have an older brother who is being cared for at this facility (Wheaton Care Center) . Although not the newest facility, it shows it age very well in the neighborhood surrounding it. I found the facility to be Very Clean and even smelling good the day I visited. High praise goes out to the Administrator (David) who took the time to meet with me even though I came long distance without an appointment. I found the staff to be alert and friendly to my needs and that of the patients as well. Special thanks to my brothers nursing staff, you know who you are. Thanks a bunch. This may not be one of the fancy high end looking facilities , but in my book , they are tops. Thanks David and tell your staff thanks from me. DD (San Jose, CA)

This may not be the newest building on the block, but the staff is very caring. They are VERY good at contacting the family anytime there is a problem or when your family member needs medical treatment. I was very pleased with the way the staff kept in touch and my uncle seemed to like the facility. There is a nice library for the residents and the surroundings are quite lovely. Other activities are available also, if the residents choose to participate.
