I selected Bella Terra because it's a nursing home. My mom needs so much care, so we decided that an assisted living would not be good for her. They've been absolutely great. I have not tried the food, but my mom is very picky and she says that the food is good. For her to say that the food is good, it has to be good. They have activities. She is in the memory care unit because she has dementia, so their activities are (I'm sure) different than what's on the other floors. She's only been there for three weeks now; I'm not really sure everything that they have right now. I talked to the director there. I told her that I would like to discuss with her my mother's care, the options we have, and everything. She said that she'll make time, and we'd go over everything. The staff has been really good. They need to get new furniture in the room. Before Covid, they said that they had a priest came in, but they stopped that because of COVID. They do not have a chapel. They really don't have what the assisted living has (where people can get around more). Patients in a nursing home need much, much more care than those in assisted living. They did accept Medicaid and Medicare; that's why we had to go with them because we could not afford the private pay. They were just too expensive.

Nobody is on the same page. There’s no management to complain to. My brother in law waits 45 mins for a cna or nurse to come to his room. They leave garbage everywhere and never clean up. He’s treated like crap.

My husband was at Lexington. For the seven weeks that he was there, the staff was good and the therapy was good, but the food was the worst. It was like giving food to babies. Everything was mush. It cost me money. Every time we went there, we were all bringing him food because the food was not good. They need to have better food there. The people were nice. They took care of my husband. However, sometimes he had to wait when he soiled his underwear, and he was upset about that. The room was OK. I wouldn't say it was the greatest; it was decent.

I think Lexington was good, but the staff people weren't trained properly. They kept switching around my husband's medication like they did in most other places he has been to. They need more training for their staff.

She’s in a place now. They were very helpful, honest, straight up, and they did a really good job. They actually have enough help on staff and the place didn’t smell like a hospital. It was actually close to where she lived and to the Alexian Brothers Center there initially. The rooms are pretty good. She needs full medical help, and the rooms are good for that basis. The only bad thing would be the communication between the front desk and the nurses.

My mom seems to be happy and she's almost never in her room. She's making some friends and she likes the bird. Many of the staff are foreign and pretty hard to understand and when I call her nurses station at night it often isn't answered which concerns me. They have many activities to choose from, and my mom will enjoy the upcoming trip to the botanical gardens. She is getting a lot of therapy too. The food though is not very good... They have 3 floors, so when my mom's Alzheimer's gets worse she'll just move upstairs instead of to a different facility. I'm happy about that.

My father was recently transferred to this facility from another facility. Lexington House is very nice, but not quite as nice as the other facility. Lexington House is very clean, and the staff are very friendly. In the couple of days that my father has been there, I have met several of the staff, including two of the aids that take care of him regularly, the day aid, and the evening aid. As I said, they are very nice, and my only criticism is that it sometimes takes a while for them to come when he presses the call button. The rooms are also quite a bit smalled than they were at the first facility he was in, and it is difficult for him to move his wheelchair around. Apart from those issues, I am very pleased with Lexington Health. They do not have the beautiful atrium or the artwork that the first facility had, but the staff are good with him, and they act caring toward him, and there are many activities that he can participate in with other residents. Another thing that I am pleased with is that they made a great effort to find him a roommate that he could get along with very well.

Lexington is a corporate chain and there is notable differences between different facilities. This is one of the nicer Lexingtons. Both the short term rehab and the long term care are good to above average. It is located off a main road and adjacent to a quite safe suburban neighborhood. This is a big facility and often the parking lot is full forcing one to park on the residential street. There is extremely limited outdoor area for residents and families, though if one wishes to trek across the long parking lot there are nice sidewalk paved areas to take a walk. The facility has recently remodeled most areas so the interior common areas are adequate, spacious, and accomodating for visitors and residents. The rooms are average to above average in size and have enough space for maybe a few personal items. Most rooms are shared. Closet space is typically minimal. The food is average, with some meals that are appealing and others that are not. Staffing is good with typically enough staff to meet the resident needs. Care provided by staff is genearlly kind and compassionate.
