My mother stayed at The Atrium for almost a year. She couldn't afford it there anymore. It started well. The staff was wonderful, but for some reason, they seemed to have a problem keeping an administrator in there and the communication was terrible. You could never get people to answer the phone. It seemed there was no one there running it. They said they had people come in, but they never answered their phones. Overall, I liked it. I thought it was a nice place. The workers were great. The facility was very nice. The residents seemed to love it there, and the staff was very kind to them. The residents were friends, which was very sweet to see. I didn't see a lot of activities. They mostly were watching a movie all the time that I was there. They had a fence because the whole facility is only memory care, so they had a locked gate and the residents couldn't get out of it. The food looked really good. I liked it for my mom and she made friends there, which was nice. She liked it as well.

We went to tour the Atrium. The place was clean and it was well set up. It was just the director we talked to, and she was very nice, but they gave an unfair assessment of her condition and wouldn't take her in. When we were there, a lot of the residents were just sitting around tables in the dining room. I didn't see them doing anything.

I had an in-person tour of The Atrium. I do not doubt that it's a good facility. The staff members were great. They have private rooms, and they seemed adequate. They have a small living area, a bedroom, and a bath. The room was slightly worn, but I didn't see any problems. It's kind of like going into a hotel room that might not have been cleaned up from the night before. They have common spaces. They were clean and functional.

I did a tour of The Atrium. It's very clean. The program was very informative, and the director was wonderful. The facility was very nice. I believe there was a library.

I toured The Atrium and I wouldn't put my worst enemy in there. In my opinion, when they know you're coming and you're going to get a tour, I would expect the employees to be on their best behavior and treat the residents there with the utmost respect. And that did not happen. I witnessed things that should never have happened, especially with my being there. If it happened behind closed doors, that's bad enough, but to be on tour and to witness the way they treated the people that live there is worse. I would suggest for them to improve on the cleanliness and the way they treat their residents. It is easily accessible to the interstate for out-of-town people to come to visit, and it's on the main road, so it's easy to find. The inside was not clean. There were people in there that were sitting in soiled diapers, and people that weren't even dressed, walking around with hospital gowns on, with their butts exposed. I didn't like anything about it. I didn't like the size of the rooms, I didn't like how they looked, and I didn't like the way they smelled. There was nothing about the place I liked. It looks beautiful from the outside until you get inside the place.

The Atrium was very nice. The only problem was that they wouldn't take my insurance, so that's the only drawback. The facility was very clean. The staff was very helpful. Everybody seemed happy there. I have no problem using that facility. Everybody wore masks.

The Atrium was a nice place. The staff was very friendly and they had nice-sized rooms. They have bigger rooms and more activity rooms. They're also clean. They had a library, a big TV room with lots of recliners, and two different dining rooms. There are gardens outdoors and it's secure because it's fenced-in around, so they're not able to walk off.

The staff is very caring and compassionate and supportive of my husband's needs and mine as well. They listen to my concerns and suggestions and work to adjust things to make him even more comfortable. I recommend The Atrium to all who ask me for my opinion.

The management and staff were very compassionate toward my dad during his stay. They would even visit him when he had to go to the hospital. Such a caring and loving place. The head, Mary Hallock, is as compassionate and helpful as they come.

My father has moved into The Atrium. The people who work there are very kind. My father has a one-bedroom apartment which is very adequate. They have many different activities. He doesn't always participate in them, but that's his choice. Their meals are very appetizing. The food looks good. They have a nice, neat courtyard, which is very pretty. The staff members seem to be very friendly. They call my father by name. It is a small community so he gets good attention.

Our visit at The Atrium was conducted one-on-one. I met the administrator and I saw the rooms and all of the care areas. The person giving me the tour was very pleasant, informative, and had answers to my question. I enjoyed the fact that it was a small facility so it's very personable. The upkeep was excellent. They were in the middle of some floor renovation but you can tell it's not hindering the upkeep of the rest of the place.

The Atrium is wonderful. It is the best place we have found anywhere in Rockford. The staff is excellent; their response time is very rapid. The food is excellent. They're individually listed and very receptive to family request. We are very pleased. My mother has been there since September 1st. The food is excellent. I asked for the recipe; it was delicious. We are extremely pleased. If you're thinking about having a family member there, I think you'll be very pleased with your decision. One of the things that have really benefitted The Atrium is that it is small. The total number of residents is excellent, right around 40. Mom does better in a smaller group.
