Provena Cor Mariae was an old building and wasn't as beautiful or well-decorated as their other counterparts. They had nice rooms, nice facilities, and good people. They also had a lot of good activities for the residents. They brought in musicians, singers, and comfort dogs. On occasion, there would be magicians and other entertainers. They also had various dances for the patients' families. The dining area was nice and roomy, and the people seemed to form friendships there. There were also snacks available. They had extra rooms where they can watch TV. They changed ownership and that changed a lot of the policies.

If there was a zero rating that's what I would give Cor Mariae on their care. If you truly care and love your family do not ever allow them to be placed at this facility. It is absolutely horrible‼️

I have waited a year to write this review of my parents stay at Cormaria to let my anger subside at the horrendous care given to their patients. It was unfortunate that both my parents were placed in this facility by my sisters who were blinded by the Catholic marketing. My father was a diabetic and while in Cormaria's care his blood sugar ran in the 400's and yet they did not monitor his diet -- he was given regular soda on a consistent basis with fruit juices and all the desserts he wanted. When I confronted the head of nursing and administrator about my father's medical needs not being met they assured me this would change. They did not lie I believe they monitored him for about 24 hours and then it went back to business as usual. It was naive of me to believe what was clearly 'their way of doing business' would change because of my complaint. As for my mother she was admitted after heart surgery and complications. Upon admission, because she was admitted on a Friday afternoon she went without her meds for over 12 hours -- the nursing staff was not aware of her admission. Not only did she not get meds she did not get fed or served water -- I did file a report with the state! The sad part of all of this is when I reported this to the nursing staff no one could talk to me about it -- no sense of urgency at all -- the only action taken was speed dialing the head nurse and administrator at home to have them come in to do their marketing -- the beauty of the meetings would be to have the priest accompany them!! Thank God my parents survived their brief stay at the facility -- however it was through the grace of God they did survive and please note when we took them home they were in much worse shape then when they entered the facility. A year later, the incompetency and total lack of caring still disgusts me.

My loved one was at Cor Marie for rehab. I and nearly all her visitors were appalled at the care she received. Not only was she quite neglected, she was (it seemed) punished for her behavior. It is evident that the staff, nice as they may be, do not have sufficient training in dealing with people with some dementia. She was left alone, with the call button intentionally beyond her reach and the rolling table with her things also beyond her reach. Her roommate was observed lying in a pool of urine, whichever was clearly not a recent situation. The room smelled of urine. Old people left without any way to protest their situation DO act out....the only thing they can do to protest. At one time Cor Mariea had a good reputation. I thought current reports of poor care were inaccurate.....but I am now certain the level of care has slipped. It seems there are caring and some well intentioned staff and an astounding lack of leadership and proper management. For sure, we will never be back

Cor Mariae was nice but it's more like an institution. It's an older building, multi story with smaller rooms and hallways. The staff was accommodating. It was in a good location but we just didn't feel at home there.

Honestly, I think they are the best provider in our area. They where the ONLY nursing home we went to that was able to cater all the way from 'residents who can still drive even' to 'residents who have to be locked on a floor because they'll try to escape and don't remember their own names.' Another thing I like is that they're a non profit. Despite being very nice, having double the state average for CNAs/RNs/Doctors on site, they are in the bottom 10% for cost. The ONLY thing I dislike is that there are a couple bad apples. My grandmother is now on the dementia floor (she's had episodes wanting to escape/forgetting who her family is), and some of the CNAs on that floor have blatantly lied about her refusing to take baths/change clothes. We know because the times they claim some of these events happened where when we where visiting - we visit every day. We brought this up to the administration though, and although they really just wanted to passify us, they have made sure the CNAs stopped pulling these kinds of stunts. All in all though, the majority of the staff obviously cares about the well being of the residents, the place is very clean, and they do a stellar job at moving their residents to the most approprate location on the campus for the level of care they need. I like them, and stand by our choice of putting my grandmother here.
