St. Francis of Assisi Residence is operated by Catholic Charities. It's a building that's just a few years old. Upon coming into the building, there was a room right facing the front, which they use as a social area as well as maybe a gift shop where they sold things. The reception area was right in the adjacent area, too. One of the residents was very kind enough to let me see her apartment there. She had it set up nice and it was interesting the way she had it. It gave me some ideas about how to set it up so it will have more room in there. It was a nice and clean building. They had the laundry room there and everything. The only thing I didn't particularly care too much about was the location seemed a little too isolated for me. I only met one person upon coming into the building, and she was very helpful, gave me an application, spoke to me about what she could do to show me around, and all that. They did not have any meals available and they did not have a dining room. There was just a seating area or a little cafe area that was in the same room where the gift shop was. I didn't like that they didn't have a dining room and I didn't like how the entrance looked when you come in. It didn't look inviting to me and I didn't like that it seemed isolated from the community and the town. The staff was wonderful. They had a nice laundry room, and the price seemed pretty reasonable. I asked them if they have transportation, with it being so isolated from the town and off of a long road. They said they had some transportation to a little shopping area somewhere, and it just wasn't enough. I wasn't too pleased with what they didn't have.
