Both of my parents lived at CBH. They started out in Independent living. After my father passed away my mother went to the 3rd floor. I work in another senior community. I can not say enough about CBH. The care, compassion, cleanliness, activities, encouragement for the residents and family is unbelievable. They are a family, they make everyone who enters feel like family. My mother passed away but I still stop by to see some of the staff that was so kind to me and my parents.

My parents were moved from Independent living area to the nursing pavilion due to a medical issue, my Mom’s dentures 3 days later gave still not been found, took 2 days for them to find my dDad’s hearing aids, His cell phone is not working and it is impossible to talk to them to see how they are doing. My list of issues is longer

Our mother-in-law spent a little over 6 weeks in rehab at CBV after a hip fracture. She had been 89 years old, mentally sharp, and living alone before this. We felt so fortunate to find a bed for her here. The nursing staff and aides were friendly, caring, compassionate, and so understanding of her age group and her physical and emotional challenges. Her physical and occupational therapists pushed her to do a little more each day, and she did finally turn the corner, was able to be discharged, and is now enjoying living in assisted living. We are grateful beyond words for all they did.

I visited Central Baptist Village, the tour was good, and the person I spent time with was very informative. We sat down and she showed me three different layouts there. It was very nice. I saw several different suites, it was a private community, and the amount of money was just really way out of line for us, but I really liked the facility. They have a 1-bedroom, a studio, and a companion suite.

Central Baptist Village was very nice and it has different levels of care. They have assisted living, nursing homes, a memory care section, and even hospice. They have a few different restaurants and meal services, and they seem to have lots of activities. There is also a doctor who comes in onsite from one of the local hospitals. It is a community that I'm pretty comfortable with. The staff member who assisted me was very thorough and seemed to know the community very well. She seemed to be a very competent, caring person. She took quite an amount of time to show me everything. I went through the dining room and looked at the weekly menus, and they looked good. They also had a small ice cream parlor, which made the place very cozy, like a little village. From what I could see, it looked great.

Everybody seemed very nice at Central Baptist. We ended up spending a lot of time talking to the residents. The rooms are very small but adequate. The dining area was clean, and the tables were nicely set. My aunt is on the waiting list for this place.

Central Baptist doesn't offer two-bedroom apartments unless you're married; they only offered one-bedroom apartments when I visited. They're very accommodating, and the food is excellent.

I was impressed with the number of activities and the spaces devoted to these activities in Central Baptist. The way the building was designed, at the end of each hall is a sitting area, well-lit, with sunlight coming in. The staff answered all my questions. The dining room was beautiful.

In our modern world, CBV is kind and gentle. The facility is immaculate and has a neighborhood concept. The greatest asset is the caring staff who not only provide for the residents in a loving and respectful manner but also lend support to families in what can sometimes be a difficult time in life’s journey.

After our search for the right nursing home, we moved into Central Baptist Village. She is in Memory Care and I am into Independent living. The care and kindness of the staff, from the top down, have exceeded our expectations. The food is excellent, well presented and served lovingly. The grounds are lovely and peaceful. The entire complex is well cared for.

My mom is in Central Baptist Village. The staff is wonderful. They talk to their guests by name and they are very interactive. They have small but adequate room. The food is fine. My mother is quite happy having a nice warm meal and having plenty of it. They are activities, maybe not every day, but throughout the week, there are different things that do come out and they do let them know what kind of things is going on. They have live entertainment and movies available. They also have a library. They have transportation to shopping and doctor's appointment. We are very pleased and I will definitely recommend them to others.

We explored Central Baptist Village while searching in a facility for our mother who, at the time, had just progressed definitely into what most would call "mid stage" dementia. Our mother's condition was especially critical in our consideration of Central Baptist Village, as opposed to other facilities; I say this because while Central Baptist is clearly a well-run facility with many positive attributes, it may not be the best environment for those who still have the majority of their faculties and are able to function independently. Central Baptist is, indeed, a "village". By this I mean that it consists of three different entities all on the same campus- a senior living apartment complex, an assisted-living facility, and a full-care nursing facility. In this sense, it may be ideal for those seeking long-term stability for those only recently diagnosed with a progressive, debilitating disease. One can establish residence in the independent-living area, then move to other facilities as their condition requires; once at central Baptist Village, one can remain there indefinitely. However, having no need for the independent living or the full-care elements, I can only relay our impression of the assisted living facility. The grounds- set in a pleasant suburban environment- were inviting, and the amenities included inviting common areas and an attractive chapel; however, the overall atmosphere, while efficient and clean, was more "clinical" than we thought ideal for someone still able to comprehend their surroundings. The broad and open hallways, though extremely functional, lacked any considerable warmth; the rooms, though ample in size, lacked personality. Though warmer than hospital rooms, they were decidely utilitarian. Perhaps the most unappealing aspect of the facility was that all residents with any sort of memory issue were under considerable restriction. The majority of the common areas were accessable to residents only with supervision. Of course, while this situation is completely appropriate- ideal, actually- for those whose dementia has advanced to the point where confusion is common, the level of restriction we observed was, we felt , unnecessary and intimidating for those still with their wits about them. In summation, Central Baptist Village's assisted living component is an efficient and comprehensive place for those requiring continuous supervision. The knowledge that one can remain at Central Baptist through their final days is also a considerable asset to many. However, the atmosphere here might not be particularly therapeutic to, nor appreciated by, those who are not yet resigned to their condition.
Provider Response
Thanks for visiting and taking the time to review Central Baptist Village. We have done a lot of growing since your 2011 visit. It’s true we are a Continuing Care Retirement Community with Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Long Term Skilled Nursing, and Short Term Rehabilitation. CB Village is unique in that The Commons for Independent Living is also licensed for Assisted Living in our 96 apartments, allowing our residents to age in place, receiving supportive services without having to move to another part of the building.
What’s new to our community is our continuum of Memory Care. As you pointed out, not everyone with memory deficits need “considerable restrictions.” We agree! When it comes to dementia, one size does not fit all. We saw a need to develop three distinct programs for those with dementia.
We are proud to introduce you to our Continuum of Memory Care.
Early Stage Support in The Commons Enrichment Program is for residents who enjoy the vibrant lifestyle of The Commons but need specialized programming and additional services to remain independent
Mid-Stage Care in The Terrace blends privacy and care in a secure and socially active atmosphere for residents with mid-stage memory loss
Late-Stage Care in The Pavilion has a special care unit that offers 24-hour specialized nursing care in a secure environment for residents with later to end-stage Alzheimer’s and other dementias
Thanks for visiting CB Village and for taking the time to write such a thorough review.
