My sister is at Alden Long Grove Rehab & HC Center. Their medical involvement is what I like the most, so nursing and physician assistants are all very good. However, their therapy is weak. My sister had been in rehab, but she is now on private pay because she ran out of Medicaid pay. For the most part, their staff are pleasant and punctual. They come right away; they respond quickly. That would be probably the most important thing. I haven't tried their food, but according to my sister, the food is adequate and better than some. There are not very many amenities there though. It's an older facility, but it is kept clean.

My dad is currently in Alden Long Grove Rehab & HC Center. I think the staff and everyone are very nice and seems like they care. It seems that he's getting what he needs as far as hygiene and health care and everything. I haven't tried their food but my dad seems to be ok with it. He's in a private room, which is fairly large. The staff is really good and the facility is great. He was in their rehab facility but he's now having hospice care while staying there.

I would not put my family member in this facility. My loved one could not get out of bed and they let him lay wet until he got sores. When the time come for him to come home, NO ONE cordinated his departure! He had to stay an extra day and 1/2 half of another because transport and oxygen delivery was not completed. Oxygen showed up at his house, but due to their inconsideration, he wasn't home and the oxygen supplier could not leave the necessary oxygen. The administration and the case worker did a horrible job of meeting his needs. The adminstration staff and paitent coordinator

I was a short-term patient at Alden because I needed physical therapy while recovering from an accident. From the moment I arrived, I was made to feel welcome and important. Key staff members came to my room to introduce themselves. I had a very nice private room with a television, telephone, and bathroom. Every morning, the Activities staff delivered a list of the day's events. There was always something to do. The nurses, CNAs, and therapists couldn't have been nicer. They were extremely professional, caring, friendly and responsive. The care was top-notch. Thanks to their outstanding care, I was able to go home after a month. A few years ago, I was a patient in another facility and my family members have been in similar facilities. Alden tops them all!

THE WORST FACILITY EVER. IT IS LIKE A PRISON. NO TELEPHONES IN ROOMS. NO TV'S .SOME ROOMS HAVE 4 PEOPLE IN A ROOM LIKE COUNTY HOSPITAL. STAFF IN INCOMPETENT. ONLY LPNS WHO DO NOT UNDERSTAND ENGLISH WELL. THEY DO NOT GIVE CARE. THEY DO NOT KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF THE ELDERLY. NO RESPECT. NO TOWELS IN ROOM, ONLY PAPER. I ASKED FOR LEMONADE FOR MY X HUSBAND. KITCHEN IS CLOSED, ONLY OPEN FOR BREAKFAST, LUNCH OR DINNER. NOT EVEN WATER IN THE ROOMS. A PERSON WAS RINGING FOR HELP AND NO ONE CAME TO HELP HIM. MY SON WALKED AND ASKED HIM 3X DO YOU HEAR THAT. SOMEONE NEEDS HELP HE NEVER RESPONDED. MY X HUSBAND WAS DYING AND AFTER HE DIED SHARON THE LPN AND THE ASIAN LPN NEVER CAME UP TO TO ME TO EXPRESS THEIR SORROW. ALL SHE SAID IS THAT YOUR X HUSBAND TOOK HIS OXYGEN OFF 7 X . THAT WAS HURTFUL. HAD TO ASK HER TO CHANGE HIS DIAPERS AND STILL DID NOT COME WAITED FOR HOSPICE NURSE TO DO IT. NEVER TOOK THE GARBAGE OUT. THE HOSPICE NURSE DID IT. GAVE ME A GUEST TRAY AND THE FOOD WAS SO BAD I WOULD NOT GIVE IT TO MY DOG. I ASKED HER TO GET SOMEONE TO BRING ME UPSTAIRS SHE HAD NO IDEA WHAT I SAID. A PATIENT TOOK ME UPSTAIRS, TOOK ME TO THE DOOR AND CARRIED MY BAG.PLEASE DO NOT LET ANYONE STAY THERE.

I am a daughter of one of the former patients. The place was ok but the service was not. They said the therapy service here was the best but no, I visited during therapy sessions and one of the therapists, his name is Ian, was very unprofessional, always on the phone, and I don't know if he knows what he's doing. The nurses were ok. Food was so so.

This is a horrible place! I wouldn't send my dog here. The staff is very poor with bad attitudes. They are very understaffed to handle so many people with medical issues. They should not take in people if they are not equipped to handle them , they are all about how many people they can shove in a room. Do not even get me started with the smell! My dad was there to rehab and for 5 days they never even got him out of bed. Please do yourself a favor for your loved one and go somewhere else.

The treatment my family received was SHAMEFUL! My family was NOT sent for Doctor's appointments when he began to decline and when they finally sent him it was too late for a good prognosis. He refused to bathe so therefore they left him in his room filthy and smelling. When he could not use utensils any longer, they left his food on a tray to congeal and eventually dry up. His clothing was constantly missing or stolen as was his cell phone. The last time I visited him he was in bed without a blanket with his TV at the foot waiting to fall over. When he was sent to the hospital for erratic behaviors, I begged and pleaded for guidance on what to do next and was ignored by the Director as well as the Social Worker. I received not a single condolence from these people when he passed away. Only the nurse on duty and the asst director who showed me where to pick up his things. PLEASE do not send any loved ones to this facility!

Alden Long Grove Rehab & Health Care Center is an older place but it is clean and organized. It seems they attend to their residents respectfully. My sister is pleased with the services she's receiving at this point. She does not really participate in any of the activities because she's wheelchair-bound and she's doing physical therapy, but activities are available for all the residents. She's very pleased with the dining area and the food.

I had my rehab at Alden about a month or two months ago. My experience there was very good. The room was OK. It was quiet. The food was good. The dining room had like 5 tables, and it was a bigger room. I was impressed with the nurses and on how helpful they were. They had a 4th of July party. Everybody was really nice.

We moved my parent here in a hurry during a rushed hospital transfer and lasted about a week before we sought another facility. It was terrible. My dad had a fall the first night. They'd failed to use his bed alarm. When his hand swelled dramatically, staff tried to tell us it was "water retention," a doctor refused to X-ray and when we showed up, it was not elevated or iced. A staff person called him "naughty" and a "troublemaker" for his fall despite the fact that he has a brain injury. An x-Ray was done at the next facility and it was fractured. Staff baby-talked residents and rolled their eyes at my dad's disjointed post-stroke communication. A CNA made derogatory comments about the high number of Russian residents and another resident who was overweight (whose wife she called "crazy"). My father struggles to communicate but is very much cognizant but his wheelchair was parked at the nurse's station for most of the day without appropriate engagement or stimulation. They also dispensed medications at the wrong times despite a detailed schedule from the hospital. Lastly, a nurse and CNA told us their star rating has dropped dramatically and congratulated us for finding a new facility. I do not recommend this place. I'd prefer to give no stars.

I am very pleased with the nursing care and staff courteousness at Alden Long Grove. This is the 2nd time I've been to Alden Long Grove. The first time was after a right knee replacement and the second time was for my other knee. I was so impressed with the therapy department and they got me walking in less than 2 weeks. They also have private suites only on their ortho unit.

Came to this facility to visit a family member and was completely disgusted. The staff was incredibly unfriendly and the facility itself was not very clean. When we asked if our family member could use the bathroom the response, verbatim, was "If it's clean" after which the staff member proceeded to peek inside the door to see if it was. I have been to other rehabilitation centers and can honestly say that this has been the absolute worst one I have seen thus far.

Alden, a corporate chain, utilizes this location as their psychiatric-focused facility. It is situated in an unusual, park-like setting in a safe residential area. There is designated outdoor space that provides for social and relaxation opportunities for residents and visitors. The building is older and not impressive, making it somewhat of a stand-out from other Alden facilities that tend to be more aesthetically similar, more modern, and more upscale. The common areas are sufficient in size, tastefully decorated, and typically clean and well maintained. Many but not all rooms have large windows that allow for natural light. Room size is average which leaves only a small amount of space for personal items. The food is alright as it typically is for Alden facilities, but perhaps not as nice as at some other Alden locations. Staff is skilled and for the most part sufficient in number to meet resident needs, though it can be very busy so that wait time to be assisted is not unheard of.
